I believe ethereum really deserves to be known more widely. even google class they provide a countdown alarm for ethereum merge. all of those who support ethereum are certainly very eager to wait for it. I am also looking forward to it and expect a lot of good changes from ethereum especially from transaction gas fees.

I can't remember them having this even for bitcoin halving. I must have missed it because sure they did. Or they are just hyped to jump cryptos after PoS when public opinion turns favourable against cryptos. Because right now it seems like a lost case to stick with the PoW boat when every country one after another turns against it. You would have to be true crypto-anarchist right now to hold anything but PoS, not that all crypto-anarchists even like PoW

They only do this now since it’s trending search on google and also they are not doing this kind content display during the previous Bitcoin halving. They just start to introduced this feeling lucky stuff as part of there marketing strategy few years ago for all the events that celebrated globally. Maybe the upcoming Bitcoin halving will sure get this kind of exposure from google.

AFAIK, Google has strict restriction that time for Bitcoin by the time halving occurred and maybe the reason for not giving this kind of importance.

Has anyone already seen this? Seems everyone is excited about the upcoming The Merge event of the Ethereum network.
It is time to think "Buy the rumor, sell the news". Is it true this time?

Ethereum The Merge is a big upgrade and will help Ethereum opens a gate to a new phase of that coin. However, there are more upgrades must be completed to help Ethereum becomes feasible for people to use it with cheaper and acceptable transaction fee. The Merge simply can not solve this problem.

I think POS just take away the whole case of decentralisation. It rather empowers a few powerful ones ..i dont know if there will be higher chances of market manipulation with POS. I just hope that won't happen.

That doesn't make any sense to me. Same argument about "empowering few powerful" or taking away decentralization applies to PoW too and even more accurately.
In PoW Only rich few who have actually farms would profit while in PoS holders hold the power, not the miners who can literally dump the market when covering their mining cost. Miners in PoW don't need to care about crypto or holders, they literally sell it for Fiat money, while in PoS ETH holders are being rewarded for hodling/staking.

yesterday I searched with that keyword but didn't see it and got what you show in this thread, is it possible I haven't updated my browser, I just saw it now from your thread live, I'll try it again later, hey is that a countdown time that true for ethereum merge
I just tried it right now and see the exact countdown, maybe you are outdated and needs to update your browser.
Well, that is the site of Ethereum where we can see the live countdown and it's very exciting to see the result of this. Google is riding the trend as well, once there's a traffic and many shows interest into a specific topic, probably they will put it on top but maybe this is just a random pick which I don't see any direct relation for this upcoming update.

ETH the merge is indeed a lot to look forward to. even many are looking for information on google search. so don't be surprised if Google displays a time countdown to the merge event. but it could also be because Google recognizes the Ethereum The merge event.

If there's a huge traffic most probably that is on the pinned search for google. As we can see, it's not google itself who share the cutdown, it's on the site of Ethereum and maybe because many are interested on this merge, google set it on a top list. Well, this is very exciting because we don't actually know what will happen aside from the merge that tend to solve the energy consumption of mining, with this we might see ETH start to pump even before this update, many are already anticipating a positive result for this update.

i think they do this based on interest from the search result. Not so long ago, I saw somewhere that "Ethereum Merge" was one of the trending search on Google. It's similar to how they displace a snippet when you search "Bitcoin price" since there is high interest in Bitcoin price search.

Google is not the only company that is interested in this event; it seems that the ethereum merger has recently garnered a lot of attention from media companies, and not only the crypto community has shown interest in this event.

CNBC also recently reported on the ETH merger, saying that this is a historic event for crypto, ETH will use less energy…I remember very well in the past, these companies always talked bad about crypto, gave negative news about crypto, but now most of the news is more positive and more crypto-friendly.

I am not sure if this is automatically added from their search egnien or Google added it because of this upcoming big event on Ethereum.

For some built-in snippets features like this it should be willingly added by Google, not by any automation. It is likely that Google perceive this event is big enough that it deserved some simple countdown snippet feature.

That is massive for Ethereum and crypto, at large. I think its from their search Engine SEO. I still believe massive crypto adoption and it is on the boil somewhere. I think this adoption and mainstream interest would explode if crypto does clean up its act and adopt some regulations which have been put forward by SEC and other regulatory bodies

One big entity here is Google, you can now see directly the countdown when you search "Ethereum Merge" on Google. I am not sure if this is automatically added from their search egnien or Google added it because of this upcoming big event on Ethereum.
