The aim is to improve the transaction speed making the mining service fees to become cheaper. I don't know if this is the promise that they have made before of Million transactions per second so hopefully this is it as it will help the Ethereum to become great platform once again.

I heard Ethereum will be updated to Ethereum 2 in early 2020.
I would appreciate you if you answer my questions.
1. Will there be a fork like we had for bitcoin cash? Or we will have to deposit our Ethereums to an address to get ETH2 in a new address? Or our Ethereum will be updated automatically?
2. What do you think about regulations? Is it possible that we will be forced to pass KYC to get ETH2?

Don't misunderstand the updates made by Ethereum in early 2020.. because ethereum will not make and launch new coins as you mean ... and there is no way we will be asked for KYC to get ETH.. because the updated that will be done by ethereum later is only to make ethereum better in the future .. and some of the other reasons that have been mentioned by others from various posts in this thread.. but for sure, after the update is done then I'm sure ethereum will increase again.

I will think positively on the etherem 2020 update, maybe after the update it will be easier to send tokens in a short time or even a second, and this is just a mere issue so we'll wait.

Ethereum is the best network in blockchain in my opinion, I traded ETH when it was at $ 20 and saw it till $1400. I believe there is no need to launch ETH2 and that will not be done as per update from one of fellow member on this thread. ETH is widely used, may be it can surpass BTC,trust ETH is the fastest network widely accepted as of now. Keep holding ETH, it will fly soon.
I think you understand absolutely nothing in technology. If you look at the Ethereum blockchain, then you will understand that now it is in a very difficult situation and it is not possible to use it by large amount of users. an update for him is very important

I believe that, as mentioned earlier, 2019 will be the year of coin accreditation at all levels. Ethereum for me is a coin of the first level, so I am sure that in 2020, after the update, it will see rapid growth.
Although, I contradict myself, but  I will add that the market is unpredictable, and to be 100% sure of something is impossible. The market is being manipulated, and very strongly, volatility does not play into the hands of everyone. The growth in 2020 is quite real, provided that 2019 ends in some recession.

KYC for the user is okay but to my opinion i don't think it should forced.

what is the reason if KYC for users is okay mate ? i believe no KYC to get ETH 2.0
because its far away from the main purpose why cryptocurrency was created buddy
Frankly speaking, I would not even be happy if Ethereum does not introduce kyc in their Ethereum 2.0 because this same decentralization is what Ethereum has been banking on that is making them have lots of scammer that are raising bad projects through their platform, so to me, enough of all these third party coins anonymity, let bitcoin be the only anonymous coin that we have.

There is need for Ethereum to introduce KYC so that all these scammers and bad developers can easily be traced when regulation comes in, I am quite sure that in future, Ethereum will have no choice because government is going to impose it on them, if we want them to regulate the cryptocurrency sector to clean it of every bad people that is destroying its reputation on daily basis.

I also think that we will see the updates of Ethereum only after 1-2 years. Large players must now buy a lot of Ethereum and other Altcoins.

You guys are going to be waiting much longer than 2020 for this to ship. Just think how long they have been delaying the sharding update, proof-of-stake, zk-Snark integration etc.

Until Ethereum does something to fix its bloat, there's really no point wasting your time looking at it. Unless you want to waste money paying gas for expensive smart contracts!

for the withdrawal process on the exchange, sometimes the exchange that provides ethereum 2.0 will require kyc. if it is not verified, then we cannot withdraw our assets. but I don't think kyc is really needed to get ethereum 2.0

I shake my head on Wei Tang's comparison of Ethereum and Microsoft Windows. For Microsoft it is alright for them to do upgrades in their software that are not backwards compatible because their users in total do not hold billions of dollars of their cryptocoin.

Parity developer, Wei Tang, has raised concerns about one of the improvement proposals, Ethereum Improvement Proposal 1884. This “will break at least a few deployed contracts,” he tweeted, continuing that “what worries me is that some participants on last AllCoreDevs seem to classify it as acceptable behavior.”

He goes on to say:

For software engineering, if you’re developing something that many people depends on, then backward compatibility is one of the top priorities for making any design decisions. This is especially important for blockchain, because a lot of money can be involved.

While Tang’s concerns may seem valid, there is, of course, a counter-argument that obsessing over backward compatibility is counteractive to progress.

Tang makes the example of Microsoft’s Windows gaining popularity because of backward compatibility. Whilst it may have gained popularity in this period, it arguably fell into a technological black-hole.

Apple’s insistence on allowing old-tech to fall into obsolescence was (and still is) widely criticized. However, it took Microsoft years and many iterations of Windows before it caught up to the advances of Apple’s OS X, losing backward compatibility on the way.

The fork was already completed back in Feb. 2019 (Constantinople). AFAIK there will be no "ETH2" coins that will be issued, it will be the same ETH since it's a network upgrade. I'm curious how the migration from POW to POS will be.

Yes! you are right, Ethereum was updated before early this year.
But the Eth 2.0 is not yet completely running.
They just had the fork and update some but we are not yet running in full 2.0 mode.
And that is what we can hold on this token.

They will just upgrade ETH network and they promised to do following: to reduce the miner rewards by 50 percent, to increase the transaction speed and to lower transaction fees. If everything would be realised it could help ETH to finally raise in price.

if I were you I would not be too sure about the price rise
Vitalik has promised us one thing , but it seems like etherium didn't deliver , so they are trying to relaunch it with POS and block halving
it is possible that even if everything goes as planned , there will be no price increase and a substantial risk of failing if things go wrong
maybe another Kriptokitties happen to stall eth blockchain to a halt again or simple tech difficulties
I would not store my coins in etherium and suggest you don't as well

You will not need to do anything, your old Ethereum will instantly become the new Ethereum 2.0. And on your wallet there will be new coins that for the average user will not differ in anything. Only specialists will understand what happened after the network update.

There will be no KYC to receive future ETH  hardfork if there will be any. Requesting for KYC to receive a decentralized forked coin is just another scam. As for the upcoming eth upgrade, there will be no new coin created.
Where did you get such information? If posible please give url into a website which describes all these moments. I think the hardfork from Ethereum will be same successful as the first hardfork from Bitocoin. I mean a BitcoinCash

Yes, there is a planned upgrade in 2020. Of course, there will be a hardfork. But you are asking the wrong question. A hardfork can be smooth with all participants jumping on the new network configuration. While a contentious hardfork may create a separate network like in the case of ETH classic.

KYC is usually enforceable in fiat gateways or centralized services, not decentralized networks.
