I heard Ethereum will be updated to Ethereum 2 in early 2020.
I would appreciate you if you answer my questions.
1. Will there be a fork like we had for bitcoin cash? Or we will have to deposit our Ethereums to an address to get ETH2 in a new address? Or our Ethereum will be updated automatically?
2. What do you think about regulations? Is it possible that we will be forced to pass KYC to get ETH2?

in my opinion ethereum will only be automatically updated, because if you look at this time the volume of ethereum is very large and if you have to deposit funds to get the latest ethereum maybe a lot of ethereum owners have obstacles. and kyc might not be a problem
I do not believe that Ethereum this time can successfully establish its network in timelines. I think that only in 1-2 years will we see the final update.

AFAIK, next scheduled hard fork is Istanbul that is expected to happen around November this year but it is still within framework of Ethereum 1.0. As to Ethereum 2.0 its zero phase i.e Beacon Chain is planned for the end of 2019 - beginning of 2020, also via hardfork  on the understanding that all ETH addresses remain valid;  KYC, this is not the case here.

Ethereum 2.0 will not be a hardfork. It will be a new platform not connected to the original Ethereum. What the users will do is transfer their wallets from Ethereum 1.0 to Ethereum 2.0 through a smart contract.

I shake my head at this. Why did Vitalik not release a proof of stake Ethereum from the beginning?

Thanks, didn't know that. Thereby next year ethereum community will find itself on the verge of splitting and will be dealing with two ETH branches i.e. POW and POS, isn't it?

I do not know. However, I predict that some of the miners might organize something and find a new development team to hardfork to their own version of Ethereum where they can continue mining.

ETH 2.0 is very much expected. But most likely we will be forced to exchange our coins. If we don't change them, they'll burn. It is a pity that so Buterin relates to their community. I've heard a lot of information about it. We will not be able to use our ETH coins as Ethereum 2.0 plans to introduce a new kind of wallet.
Why are they operating it like a Ponzi scheme, how can they burn people's coin without their knowledge, this is how many of these projects fail and they don't meet up to the standard of bitcoin. when bitcoin was created, there were many people that bought at the early stage and never take a look back until years later, if bitcoin has done what Ethereum intends doing, would there have been smile on people's face today, would those people who told their story on how bitcoin change their lives and through their testimonies attracted others, would they have been attracted to bitcoin?

Ethereum should please come up with another option please, because like me, I hardly check on my investment and i never even knew about this not until you said it, but how many people would know.

Fork version already we got in this year, so there will be no others fork this year. By next update, automatically Ethereum will be update. Low possible to pass KYC to use Ethereum. Need update for fast transaction and low cost as others blockchain.

Just imagine all these Eth upgrades and improvements coming and these will be implemented and completed by early 2020 then just keep in mind the biggest event of btc halving in quarter 2 of 2020 and then recall the bull run of last post halving season, all these indicate that right now it is the best time to accumulate more and more eth and btc because super bull season is coming in few more months time and im sure that patience is going to pay big time.

I think the new version of Ethereum will be more attractive for investments and maybe this step will give a new life for this cryptocurrency from TOP. I read about ETH 2.0 and if 25% of promising will be realized we'll see a big trust from many companies in other altcoins.

No fork will happen. Ethereum core innovation is the transition to a new proof-of-stake algorithm. Additionally, the sharding solution used in the system will be updated. Due to this, participants will be able to scale faster and more efficiently.

It is planned that Ether 2.0 will be able to process faster in the system, and the number of transactions per second will be increased greatly.

I don’t know how the fork will happen, but today I saw the news that the update of the ethereum is postponed to a later date. Definitely KYC will not need to go through. As soon as they suddenly announce this, many will switch to using other coins.

Ethereum 2.0 will change the Ethereum work model from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake. Ethereum 2.0 will implement Sharting and will support Virtual Machines supported by Ethereum which support Ethereum to find out the number of Dapps. For developers, testnet provides a simulated version of the main network that allows them to intelligently use contracts or upgrade without having to pay "fees" (cost calculations) for their implementation.

ETH is a decentralized digital currency and you don't have to go through any KYC verification to hold ETH coins, the upcoming update is just a normal upgrade in the system, there will be no new coin or any form of hardfork or blockchain split, your Eth coins you hold in your wallet will the update automatically without sending it out
I have a feeling that the team is addictive with the release of the update. You can now go on the process of accumulating Ethereum at a low price. And in the next year, Ethereum will already be more expensive than $ 500.

hopefully we are not forced to get ethereum 2.0. because what previously happened for the fork was a certain designated exchange. and if in the exchange must require kyc, to withdrawal, then we must follow it, and not from the ethereum party who kyc, which as far as I know is like that
I think if this event is carried out, ethereum will quickly increase

I doubt if there will be any further fork as the fork happened early this year. Also the upgrade will not warrant new wallets, it's a means of scaling the Ethereum network further not to create a new chain.

There is certainly no KYC. The transfer will be done by you yourself through a one way smart contract to transfer your Ethereum 1.0 coins to the new blockchain of Ethereum 2.0.
yeah, i think also like that.
indeed KYC will not be needed and many people have said that we don't need to do anything.

i really hope that this plan will succeed and will pump ethereum higher than it was a few years ago.
don't expect this sooner than the end of 2020. I doubt that even a bull run will be able to raise the price of ethereum as high as last year. without real technological advances, this is impossible

@mamahdedeh. I predict that the delays in Ethereum 2.0's release will be worse than the SEC's approval of the bitcoin ETF hehehe.

2. What do you think about regulations? Is it possible that we will be forced to pass KYC to get ETH2?
The fork was already completed back in Feb. 2019 (Constantinople). AFAIK there will be no "ETH2" coins that will be issued, it will be the same ETH since it's a network upgrade. I'm curious how the migration from POW to POS will be.

yes, maybe this is only an upgrade on ethereum network, thats mean we don't have to do anything
and in my opinion there will be no KYC for this

It looks like the plan will take place in early January 2020. Usually there are several exchangers or wallets that provide the service, and of course we must have an ethereum balance on the wallet, I think it will be announced before implementation, like the previous ETH hardflok plan, although it failed.
I hope the future plans can be successful, in order to lift investor confidence in ETH

there is no information about this yet, but I think it will be some kind of technical update without the appearance of new coins

It is not an update. It is technically an Ethereum reboot because it is beginning a new blockchain with a new genesis block.

The users will transfer their coins from the old Ethereum 1.0 blockhain to Ethereum 2.0 blockchain through a one way smart contract.
