At one point Ethereum showed such progress that people thought it might take place of bitcoin one day. As if we looked at charts the growth and fall was comparable to bitcoin in its percentage but lately Ethereum fall drastically due to some ICO's money case due to which it lost its popularity which it ignited over the course of time. For Ethereum to be new king its a long road to follow.
I don't think this is gonna happen anytime. Bitcoin is the King of the crypto world and I don't think any other crypto will be able to take its place. Cryptocurrency got its popularity because of Bitcoin and it just keeps on getting more and more traction in the market day by day, no other crypto can take its place.

Maybe but you know that bitcoin is the king of cryptoconcurrency. it control's the crytpo market.

ETH is unlikely to be able to displace bitcoin, since bitcoin is the founder of crypto currency, but this coin in terms of creep might come close.

Ethereum is good a big but it is not a king yet. In as much as Bitcoin is still there ETH is not a king. I always say that BTC is their Father while ETH is their Mother, in other words I mean BTC is the King and ETH is the Queen.

Yes, Ethereum has shown much potential in the past year but still to take the first place among all the cryptocurrencies, it has a long way to go. Also Bitcoin's market capital at present is $150 billion which compared to Ethereum's $54 billion is much more. When there was a drop in bitcoin's price, ethereum price got decreased too and that to a much more percentage than bitcoin. Hence, it shows that Bitcoin is still the king of all the cryptocurrencies. The advantage that Ethereum has over Bitcoin is its use as a smart contract and its unlimited supply in comparison to Bitcoin's 21 million. Hence it all depends on the future on how the coin will continue in the market.

This will not happen this year or next. Do not expect that this will happen in the coming years.Ethereum is not a coin that can contain the whole world of cryptocurrencies.
etherium is a very nice coin but we can not say new king because it is very hard to say this when there is still bitcoin in there.
