ETH is second only to BTC for now. But ETH is slowly catching up BTC. I willn`t be surprised if in the future ETH will take the crown from BTC.
Market has fallen deep recently. And Ethereum has fallen harder compared to Bitcoin, Bitcoin has around 50% market dominance which is now at around 42%, I don't think Ethereum can come any close to Bitcoin for now. But it's developing and growing pretty well so Future might be surprising for Ethereum.
All coins may drop its price and maybe others go up but still even bitcoin continiously drops its price it will be always the king of crypto. First of all, there are no coins that beat bitcoin in terms of price. Bitcoin still on the top of cryptocurrency. Ot is the face of cryptocurrency. Bitcoin will not be surpassed by any coin yet, and probably it will never be surpassed by any of it. Bitcoin is the king.
Ethereum has fallen in price recently too and with it any hopes of it dethroning bitcoin this year are gone. But with the current rate of development that the Ethereum devs are doing, Ethereum is surely going to dethrone Bitcoin next year.
Market are often dominated by pioneers, and the market of cryptocurrencies is not an exception to the rule. Bitcoin is the only king of cryptocurrency since it has started and also keep aside every coin, But it is possible that Ethereum can give a strong competition to BTC since nowadays lot of people are trading and ETH is more cheaper and requires less time to transfer in comparison to BTC.
I believe in the future success of the etherium. He proved to be a reliable coin, due to which he is very popular. But bitcoin will not be surpassed by anyone yet, and probably it will never happen.

I don't know there were never a time that they lead Bitcoin in terms of price and volume, so it's still a long way to go, and so many new coins coming with claims superior technology, we don't know if this is possible but we'll see after 2 years
Well is it now, I sees that ethereum has a great potential future, as a smart contract. It has the ability to compete with bitcoin even beating the price of bitcoin. Looking at the high transaction rate in blockchain now which I think is one of the reason the price of bitcoin is dropping as a result of investors not coming in.
Ethereum as the stiffest competitor of Bitcoin, has a great potential and has a brighter future, no wonder it can take over bitcoin in the nearer future. Though it may be seemingly hard, but ethereum also already started to be known in the global market and the global interest has grown.
ethereum is not a new king, but ethereum can be a king of cryptocurrent. but when it happen we still dont know.

No it can't. As we can see in this bear market, Ethereum is having trouble on surpassing bitcoin, it just follow bitcoin when it would go down or go up constantly so I can easily say, bitcoin is the king.

I don't think it will become number 1 this year, but it's certainly possible in long term perspective. I see better usability for Eth blockchain than Bitcoin blockchain right now

I know that ethereum has the second to the highest value in the crypto world, but as of now, it is really hard to think that ethereum will be the new king of crypto coins because when the bitcoin's value dropped it also dropped too which made me think that ethereum is dependent in bitcoin. The good thing about ethereum is that most of the ICOs are supporting it due to its compatibility with their tokens.

Yeah, it have a lot of projects at this platform, but I dont think it's a main idea, NEO for example also a new perspective cryptocurrency not that many people intrested on it comparring to btc and eth for sure eth it's more easier to use and fee's are lower for me it's not king of crypto
There is a possibility for ethereum to someday replace bitcoin as king in the crypto world, but this is not an easy thing and it certainly takes a very long time, because now people's belief in bitcoin is still high and this proves that bitcoin is still the best investment place for lots of people to make a profit.
I don’t see ETH as the king of cryptocurrency for now. BTC is still the king and frontrunner of all since it started all of these cryptocurrencies. ETH can be a bright prospect as to be the new king of this world. It need more time and effort from the people behind the scenes of this. If btc price goes down and hit its all time low, I can see eth goes forward if more and more people invest in it.
for over 1 year ethereum is the king of crypto if you calculate the token economy inside of ethereum.
