The first hand gun was not invented until the 15th century. Once the gun was invented and perfected, it changed the way wars were fought forever.

I think the invention of firearms was one of the greatest events that changed history. Think about it, before firearms, people have to fight in close range. And it was very hard to kill people. But once guns are widely used in warfare, the number of casualties have sharply increased and wars keep getting bigger and bigger.

It is also now much easier to kill people and commit crimes with guns.

Political events:

1775: American revolution and its system of government and individual rights.
It's more important than the French revolution and initiated the slow reaction of the world against European domination. So, it's the birth of the decolonization and the plurality of states we have now.

I'd have to disagree with that. European domination was not halted or slowed by the American Revolution. In fact the 1800's was the peak of European imperialism. The event that set off decolonization was WWII.

He's sort of right, in that it started to push for a reduction in European domination, at least in the New World; but of course it's completely wrong to say it's the birth of decolonization. The colonies, initially in the Americas, simply began to change hands from the European powers to the US; see the Monroe Doctrine and how it was used through time for clear examples.

Funny nobody mentions penicillin, a lot of us might not even have been born without it. Sometimes the little things change the world far more than the big ones.

What makes the discovery of Pencilin any more important that that of the rabies-vaccine or the small pox-vaccine? Or even the polio vaccine? Eradicating small pox was probably the most important medical milestone.
Rabies-vaccine and small pox-vaccine have its place in saving people's live, but the discovery of penicillin had\has and will have a great importance for world and opened the door for the other medical cures. The discovery of penicillin changed the world of medicine enormously. With its development, infections that were previously severe and often fatal, like bacterial endocarditis, bacterial meningitis and pneumococcal pneumonia, could be easily treated.....and let's say that you are in 1920 have an tonsil infection ,that is very easy to get what would you prefer the discovery of penicillin or the rabies -vaccine?

What do you think were the most significant events of the 19th, 20th or 21st century? Wars, Revolutions, Political Ideology, Technological innovations? What events do you think truly changed the world?

Technological innovation, that may bring a war between actual power and the peoples, this will be a revolution that may bring humanity to the first real civilisation... Nothing matters about political, this shit have to go.

The begining, 1913 : creation of the federal reserve.. over the century, it changed the way humans are use as slaves.
Invention and mass production of GMO seeds, crops stealing from the peoples in the name of intellectual property..
2008, the real first visible major negative consequences of the (1913) begins to appears.
2009, creation of the genesis block, birth of Bitcoin.
Jacques Fresco and Peter Joseph dedicated their life to some real global movement that may change the entire world for the best.  Those movement can drive the humanity to civilisation (The Venus Project, The Zeitgeist Movement)

The power shift from Britain to the United States.
This has changed the world's technology and ideas.

what, when did this happen? the U.S. was not the world power that it is today.. at least until world war 2, where they profited the most. i think that's when the U.S. currency become the world standard.. and fractional reserve banking started around this time as well.
