Cool idea, but 'ChangeTip?'  Really? That was really the best name they could come up with? I know non english speaking Nigerians that could come up with a better, more fitting name than that.

lol, agreed

it's a good idea though, it could go viral but feel the average facebook user would have no idea how to collect their tip.
for me is a long way from being the killer app we need, still too complicated for the average tard

plus, I wouldn't put it past zuckerberg to ban it just to hurt the winklevii if becomes pop.
I am sure zuckerberg just wants his own payment/tipping/token system

Just sent 5 of my friends 1000 bits. 2 of them got excited and downloaded a PC wallet and are now researching Bitcoin. I think in the next few days/weeks buyers will be coming in (takes days to setup coinbase) watch the value go up. Who ever sold recently ... ouch

visit /r/dogecoin for some tipping tips.  i'm glad some people are starting to do this.
It's funny how on the dogecoin sub-reddit there's posts bragging about how they have been doing it forever and the bitcoin users are finally catching on.

Me personally: I don't want to tip in dogecoin.

And I'm guessing a lot of other people don't either, which is probably why it never caught on as much as a bitcoin tipping application. Bitcoin is the #1 cryptocurrency so it would make sense that any popular app would catch much more adoption with it than other coins.

sure.  but in defense to dogecoin...  http://dogecointimeline.com

they have quite done a lot as well.  not bad for a 'gag currency'.

Yes, they have done well. I guess I'm just not interested in dogecoin. Nothing wrong with them. My interest just lies mainly with Bitcoin. So my hat's off to the doge community. May they continue to do their thing.

Now let's grow bitcoin's popularity!

out of the 5 tips I have sent out only one was Delivered 4 are still out for delivery  Undecided

So what? Just keep at it.

Of course not everyone knows what it is.

But if every few months they see some money thrown their way, eventually they'll get curious and click to accept it.

I ignored bitcoin my first time too. Did you grasp it the first moment you saw it?

ChangeTip is not a new concept, it looks very similar to QuickCoin, launched a year ago.

Yeah except I never heard about that and so never used it. I like ChangeTip and I trust it.

They use Bits unit, awesome!
It's great to start getting "bits" more widely used. I explain to people that there are 1,000,000 bits in each bitcoin, so they understand the term.

If you have a WordPress site or BBPress site, you can add tipping to it as well - it uses ChangeTip and Twitter to do so:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/tipmewp/

Anyone who posts on the WP or BBP site and has a twitter account entered can be tipped.

I don't have Bitcoin people in my network.

WIll I be able to tip anyway?

Yes, that's what is so cool about it. You can introduce people to bitcoin by giving it to them.

hmm... I must Try it then Smiley

Make sure you're not "spamming" on their platform, so you don't get your account flagged/deleted.
I'm only sending 1 message to each person's wall. That's fine isn't it?
I assume for us, mortals, it is "safe", yes.
But, there's always a "but".

If it goes viral, it will cause a lot of "spam" on their network. They're known for their censorship.
Holding back doesn't help bitcoin either, so might as well go for it. If they block it, we're right where we were a few days ago without FB changetip. Only potential gains to be had here.
