Why is it that so many people are surprised that a more resource-intensive algo uses more resources?  Undecided

A better question is: why is it that so many people are so careless that install software from untrusted sources (e.g. miners, and I mean closed source miners of course, like EWBF) on their personal computers?

Claymore is also closed source and everyone is using it.
And don't worry ewbf is honest dev.

Wow! What an argument "and everyone is using it"!
Everyone is using windows, facebooks and google services. So your argument would be  - all is good?
And to make my point clear: it's ok (I think) to use those miners on isolated rigs that you don't use for anything else. I'm surprised people run them on their personal computers.

Windows is also closed source... Roll Eyes

Right..just proves my point.

That's why Ubuntu and LineageOS are my friends.
You people need to wake up.

And don't worry ewbf is honest dev.

EWBF is the best dev ever not only because he builds rock solid miners, but also because he is unlike all others not greedy and allows to choose the amount of (or disable) fee. My respect: 0.5% enabled since new cuda equihash miner release.
I honestly expect him to make it open source when he retires from miners development.

Lol, where i said it's good? I said most of noob miners are using closed claymore binaries, and he was afraid of efwbs binaries.
I didn't mention anywhere, it's good.
Don't try to put in my mouth what i didn't said, you're looking like tard then...
I'm not using Windows only Ubuntu, I like that much. Best thing, if I can compile binaries by myself.

Request to developers:
Please keep the algo list consistent.

a) Either allow ANY of the numeric algos, like 144_5. Currently 210_9 is not allowed :-(, and allow secondary argument --pers
b) Allow ANY Coin name, like Aion & Zhash, but also BitcoinZ etc.

The current situation is confusing (to say the least) and makes the adaptation for 3rd party miners (e.g. www.multipoolminer.io) unneccesary complicated.

I don't think you are ok to request something from dev as you are using no fee option Grin Grin Grin

Hi EWBF, after some time mining AION my shares seem to stop being across all GPU and instead default only to GPU0.

Code:
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti	53 C	172 W	324 Sol/s	1.88 Sol/W	4038	0
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 52 C 166 W 322 Sol/s 1.94 Sol/W 1349 0
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 58 C 185 W 325 Sol/s 1.76 Sol/W 1276 0
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 50 C 165 W 328 Sol/s 1.99 Sol/W 1194 0

Share submissions speed up drastically as well.

Code:
17:48:57 INFO: GPU0 Accepted share 0ms [A:4037, R:0]
17:48:58 INFO: GPU0 Accepted share 0ms [A:4038, R:0]

17:49:00 INFO: GPU0 Accepted share 0ms [A:4044, R:0]
17:49:01 INFO: GPU0 Accepted share 0ms [A:4045, R:0]

I am running the cuda 9.1 version on Ubuntu 16.04

Any insight?

Anyone can help us put this on ethos?

FWIW, I have released a updated ZhashOS within hours of each update from EWBF.

Check it out if you like...

In the case of EWBF, I think he has stood the test of time and has proven himself.

Sure, we all trust EWBF.
Am I happy to run EWBF on a mining rig? - absolutely!
Is there any chance I run his binary on my PC? - hell no!

Yes, This is true. I personally use this Micro Linux on pendrives and never need to have any other drive on my rigs. Save me a few bucks on each rig.

ZhashOS has no need to concern itself or use any other drive ever. It is totally self contained. Ir is quite happy to live by itself. So if I were ever to get a "bad" miner, at worst, I'm out my $15 drive. meh.

why in the new version of the miner in the mining of the AION coin, do I have a few updates and some pools such as f2pool do not at all? in what there can be an error? discard the example of the bat file for this coin, and write whether it is possible to dig into the exchange binance?

Try to running this:
miner --algo aion --server 99.255.106.25 --port 3333 --user 0xa066d324f5d1eeef1b8cd213e7ecc980be4fcc992948fc4bd1b3fb1c32fe9eac

About Binance i don't know.

You can't simply mine to any exchange, because now you're mining mainnet tokens, and those on exchanges are erc-20 tokens.
There is simply still not developed mainnet to erc-20 two-way gateway, they're working on one-way gateway now.
2way gateway you can expect in 3, or 4 months at earliest.
So simply you cant sell mined tokens anywhere on the exchange. Maybe somewhere OTC. This is exact situation right now.

Still doesn't work for me - I copied the exact same line, but yes I wanted to mine directly to an exchange address. So is that the problem?
If yes and I can't sell the mined tokens this AION mining makes no sense at all. Why mining a token that I can't sell at the end. I mine for money not just for heating up my room. I'm a little bit confused right now

Mining to an exchange (or storing anything there) is a very very bad idea in general. And I'm not only talking about possible hacks of exchanges (of which we have numerous examples), but also about situations when exchanges kinda "legally" steal your crypto. I'm talking about recent situation around poloniex: they just froze assets of all their users and prohibited any withdrawals and trades without ID verification. Screw them. I only had ~$150 in crypto there. No way I'm giving them my ID. Unless this $150 grows to $15,000 in 5-10 years..lol

Well, no intensity change, i give up. Sad

@valaki

What tasks are you having difficulty with when intensity is not adjustable?

Example windows drags, slowly opening programs and microlags, stuttering, unusable movie seeing. I did not experience with the old program (0.3.4b)

valaki,

Give ZhashOS a try. I just did a test watching a youtube video on my pc while mining at the same time. It worked without any stuttering and get this.....Only 4GB ram and no (0GB) virtual memory is "ever" required. If you require it, I will figure out a way to post a picture proving it. Sol rate did slow down about 10% or so while watching the video but no stuttering. It is a pendrive O/S and you can keep your windows intact.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.40261859

I just don't see the point of these mining os's. Install ubuntu, drivers, run miner, that's all.
Don't know what's difficult on this.
And pay a fee for what? meh...

You are absolutely correct. But what is your time worth?

I have 1000+ man hours perfecting this Micro Linux for Mining.

This install is around 900MB and stripped down to lean and mean state. But yet fully usable for daily desktop PC use suitable for a windows convert.

Ubuntu is rather huge and cumbersome. It is just to heavy for my taste.

ZhashOS "never" needs any virtual memory.  So it is well suited to live on a removable pendrive.

But anyone can use ubuntu if they don't mind spending the time (many hours) perfecting it for their needs.
