If those are the "2 PCI-E connector" version, they have a MUCH higher TDP (at about 230 watts) than any other GTX 1070 I am aware of.

That's why reporting figures as "% TDP " and such is MEANINGLESS when you don't specify the actual card they are from.

Yes i think that information you even have from me from some other thread Wink

At 65% TDP in Afterburner i have ~ 150W on the GPU's - for some 1070s that would be 100% TDP already.

Also from Sol/s the range might be from 420-480 Sol/s for the different cards - it seems that the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8g is one of the top models in that case (didn't see values of more than 480 Sol/s till now reported by users)

Guys, not sure it fits here but anyhow.

As stated above, I am mining with EWBF Cuda miner and get about 780-800 Sol/s.

Issue is that the pool that I am using (flypool for zcash) reports huge instability (550 up to 1k Sol/s with average of 688 for the last 24h) and after 2 days I have started questioning if the average hashrate will ever reach my real-life performance. Such a bummer.

So, has the reported numbers reached your real-life ones?

Thanks in advance.

Yes it does, but it takes at least 24 hours of continuous running for the average to come up.  The are always swings in the current effective hash rate during normal mining.  The 2 big dips are when i was doing some maintenance on the rigs.

My average reported hash rate in the miners is 2700.

Thanks man. It went 740 avg now (miner reports 780-810 max) and still has room since I restarted the system twice today (had to update drivers and compare among other tests).

What are u running (cards) btw? Cheesy

I tried your settings and its impossible for my cards to get 470sols. I got ~400sols with your setts. Eth with your settings looks like 29.3-29.5. Which model of 1070 do you have?

MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G

I bought cheaper gigabyte windforce 1070 8G and probably thats why my oc is not that good.

Bump the TDP up some to compensate - those MSI are 230 watt TDP your Gigabytes (if they're the same ones I have) are 180.

You should be able to get them to at least 430 sol/s and possibly more with the right tweeking.

To Chipychop - dual mining pushes the card harder, as it aims to use the ENTIRE card fully when most crypto "single" mining leaves large parts of a card unused.
Open case works better for most, unless you set your case up with a LOT of airflow into the GPU area AND HAVE A WAY TO EXHAUST IT.

This is why blower-type cards are usually better than fan-type in a case with multiple GPUs.

which temps should you consider safe temps for this model? and maximum temps?

82 is way too much. From what I know temp should be no more than 70.

mmmm now 77 degrees celsius constantly and fan at 100%.......... mining dual with eth+dcr.

maybe temperatures mining dual eth+dcr are higher than zcash??

I have opened my case and I have a rx 480 on my second slot, should be recommended to close the case?

what do you recommend me to do?

thanks

Hi all,

Im up and running, thanks to this thread but I was wondering how do you all protect your account/zcash address ?

Do I have to put a password in my start.bat file ?

TIA
Nobody does that. It is a receiving address.

Here are my settings for 2 MSI GTX 1080Ti's: I'm getting about 770 Sol/s with both of them, 780 and over when not using the computer.

Core Clock: 1974
Mem Clock: 5702 or 11404
Core Voltage: 950mv
Temperature: 65-67
Fan Speed: 43-48%
Power consumption: around 250w per card according to EWBF's miner
3.1 Sol/watt

It's been stable so far and is running very cool and quiet.

Also, i'm using the Voltage/Frequency Curve Editor in MSI Afterburner to manage my overclock and voltage.

Damn, those are some great stats.
I OCd them roughly to your stats (even though I didnt edit curves, can you pls send your curve screenshot?),
and I'm getting around 730-740 MAX, I dont think I can squeeze a lot more out of them.

I guess I'm happy with 740, even though that 780 sounds so sweet. Tongue

That sounds already better. Cheesy

Here is the screenshot:

Aha, interesting curve, you think it's the most optimal approach?
I got pretty close to your numbers now, without playing with the curve. 745-750 tops...

That is a great result IMHO, I'll leave it like this till tomorrow, and maybe play around with it some more.

I believe with future versions of the miner we could see 800 sols.

I'm currently doing some more testing and it seems like one of my cards can do 800 Sol/s already Grin it's bouncing between 785 and 805. Core is set to 2012 and memory to 5899 with 993mv so a bit more power.

Cards that have 10 or 10+2 phase power delivery perform much better on overclock then then standard 4 or 4+1 phase power delivery that is found on the more reference style pcbs.

My EVGA 1070 FTW with 10+2 will run around 470 sols at 125-130 watts with a +100 core and +600 mem.
My EVGA 1070 SC Black's with 4+1 only run around 450 sols at 125-130 watts with the +100 core and +600 mem.

GTX Titan X (Pascal) - 435 Sol/s  Huh
Why such small speed?
Can special settings or the special driver are necessary?

Thanks for answer. I have +600memory clock and +150 core clock 60% power which is ~100W per card and I dont change them for zcash and eth. Can you post yours OC?

I've following OC settings:

ETH:
-250 core clock
+500 memory
55% Power Limit
70% FAN

ZEC:
+100 core clock
+500 memory
68% Power Limit
75% FAN
