I don’t think being an experienced/old player has anything to do with addiction. Both of these people (old/experienced and young/inexperienced) can become very addicted to gambling. Age and experience do not matter. I’ve seen adults and college kids that were equally addicted. I had friends who made bets every day. When people reach that level it becomes almost impossible to save them from the addiction. That’s the problem with being an addict. Also, there's a social aspect to it as well. If you change your behavior and add other kinds of activities that make you feel good, your brain will rewire itself and you'll be able to escape addiction.
But if there's nothing else fun in your life, then you will probably go back to your addiction.
