I research them first and scrutinize all possible data that they have online. Follow them in social media if they have personal exposure about their projects. There is really no tried and true way to accomplish this. I would suggest researching the team and project. Another thing to ask is this project needed? Is the project scalable? Some projects just have a bad idea. I saw one where a couple of guys were selling drones in Rio. That doesn't make sense in any way shape or form.
Please check the Author's or founder's credentials... Check their white paper and do adequate research to ascertain facts about the project.
Now there are a lot of fake projects. I think that they will not be able to survive in the future. Such projects inflict damage to investors and this is very bad.

This is very helpful. Ive always thought that there will never be at least some hints that you are on the wrong ICO. And the scams and accusations thread, Ive seen some projects that are scrutinized there too.
The best way to detect a fake ICO and a fake project is a thorough analysis. That's how you can protect yourself from the scam. There are too many aspects that no "tool" can check.
Its not easy to detect fake ICO and Bounty's as there are no specific instruments or tools in place for such, so what one basically needs is an Advisor that has appropriate knowledge and is widely known in the market, so he can give advice's about fake icos and someone doesn't waste his or her time on such matters

You cant get rid of them yet they would continue to exist as long this market do involves funding since scammers would be just lurking anywhere and making projects that's too good for you to be easily deceived but heres an example for you to have initial research before jumping in. I think it's difficult but not impossible. If you want to detect a good or fate bounty or ICO then you should check their admin level first check their telegram support . If their support and activity good enough then can join without any hesitation.

Personally, I constantly face scam projects. Although I always study all projects well. And already, to be honest, I'm tired of working for free and wasting my precious time. We need to do something about it, but I do not even know what to suggest.
I rarely join the ICO projects at this time because almost ICO projects are not clear and improper target Even They can use fake traffic views or promoters on social media channels to cheat investors Therefore I often join some projects after listing on certain exchanges .

There is no tools are available in find out the fake ICO but all the projects are provide the whitepaper so we can read carefully in whitepaper then only we can choose the good project. This is also enough because if your project is not reach softcap they don't list the market. So automatically bad reputation is comes in this project your total effort is waste. The best way to eliminate the fake project is concentrate the reputed manager project.
