It amplifies the need for investors to do their complete research before investing in newly launched projects. Even the person you had been admiring or following on social media platforms can be just promoting a scam. So apply some common sense next time instead of blindly following the expert financial advice of these gurus. Another platform, where this abuse frequently happens is YouTube where creators promote number of fake projects.

I remember the John McAfee, reveals he charges $105,000 per promotional cryptocurrency tweet.

So this is not new as Twitter is one of the best social media to attract new investors in the crypto market and they are using this platform in the past and will continue to do. So I do agree, each and everyone should used their God given common sense instead of blatantly investing on some project just because some so called financial experts advises us in social media.

It was sad to say but I feel that the worsening scenario in social media and even can't be trusted. Might not all but the majority we found of these social media platforms are full of lies and assumptions which only become a reason why people distrust or ruin someone's life.

We thought that social media is medium to spread the right information but now, it was a medium used to scam people.
If this is only what we got from them, I'd rather uninstall this app because it was useless if this will lead us to lose our money.

When these people are getting paid they don't care if people will lose money if they invest under their influence as long as they are getting paid.I feel it similar to some advertising from celebrity about something they are getting paid for but they don't use it themselves but what is important to them are monetary benefits they get from company or project. But we should be making our own decision with open mind.

Yes, exactly. That's why I think it's important to tell others not to follow and listen to them, everyone should make their own decisions based on research. If someone is telling you to buy something, it will bring him more profit than you.

Investment is always a personal matter.  And everyone takes only one idea from social media but smart investors always do their own analysis and don't just invest based on someone's advice and that's wise. Because those who promote a project or a product in exchange of money can never be completely trustworthy because they always promote a project or a product in exchange of money. So it is always better to do your own research and then invest somewhere
If someone ever invests with the help of others or social media, then it can be seen that he always has a lot of worries. I think if I lose all the money by investing with my own thoughts, I don't have any problem. And if someone's intelligence or social  Investing by looking at any site advertising from the media is often accompanied by the fear of losing money.  But if you invest with your own mind then you can reap a lot from here. There will be no chance of losing money later I think.

In fact, some of them are brokering such scams without knowing exactly what they are doing, but unfortunately some of them do so on purpose. The cryptocurrency world can be vulnerable to such abuses, as it puts the free world and free market economy at its core. At this point, the job falls to us. We should always be wary of such malicious people and invest in coins by doing our own research. Otherwise, we could easily lose all our money.
It's an easy money for them. Imagine one tweet from them cost $1000 usd without any hassle on doing so given that they only most probably do 1-3 mins browsing on the project then post some flowerful words about the obvious and most common project pros then tada! Easy money they got. It's true that sometimes even if it's an obvious scam they just don't care about it. We see how these so called influencers ravage social media with all these sht projects during the bull market. It's an absolute disgrace from crypto community. I just hope that influence marketing won't be a thing on the next bull market cause it badly affects cryptocurrency on this kind of things.

Depends on the influence and following of the influencer. If they've got active engagements from hundreds of thousands up to millions of people then that's higher pay.
But it all depends on how much they're asking or how much the offer will be. That's going to be an offer that they won't reject especially if not that many sponsors are approaching them and asking to work for them. It's like a one time work so, they'll just plug it to their video and then all good. That's why many influencers are fooled and don't DYOR.
Yeah, i didn't thought about that maybe those followers weren't that active and some seem to have huge amount of paid bot followers.

And these influencers don't even seem to know that they are required disclose when they are doing paid advertisements. No wonder that famous twitter celebrities get sued left and right as they don't have any clue of what's legal and what's not, especially when they are not even reading about the projects they advertise. I wonder how these master minds got anything left.

even now all social media platforms are full of fraud and there are some parties who do it on purpose. some influencers also do it consciously and unknowingly because they receive substantial rewards for promoting them. Research is very important to do before promoting any project. For
To avoid the NFT scam, it is important to research and verify the reputation of the owner and project before making an investment. It is also important to ensure that the NFT is tradable and recognized by the wider NFT community.

It is also advisable to seek information and assistance from trusted sources such as NFT forums and communities, and always maintain the privacy of your personal information and financial information.

Always do your own research, investing advices from youtube is a scam in 95% cases
Yeah, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and many other social media platforms are the worst place to take investment advices even in my personal experiences. We all know that they aren't built for that but they are only built for entertainment or to communicate to the close people that we know, so most of the people there are just clowns. Apart from they are not serious, most of them are also being paid to fool others and scammed them later on.

This forum we have here can still be better because this forum is built for crypto discussions and other stuffs related to it like investing, trading and mining. We also have great people in here who don't mislead others but are only willing to help them without expecting anything in return.
A common and unfortunate mistake, these days people use social media so much they believe they can find the solutions to all their problems there, but social media was created with fast communication and entertainment in mind, not the diffusion of accurate information about a multitude of topics.

Trying to find reliable investment information there is a waste of time, specialized sources are needed and this thread presents a good example of what it should not be done if we do not want to lose our money.

I don't understand. Is it not a widely known fact that Tik-tok, instagram, youtube and Twitter influencers are getting paid for tweeting?
I am not sure if i am more surprised about the fact that his promotions are so cheap or that anyone listens financial advices from someone whose job is to be choked, kicked and hit in the head.

....It amplifies the need for investors to do their complete research before investing in newly launched projects. Even the person you had been admiring or following on social media platforms can be just promoting a scam.
It also pushes for the need to become a more responsible member of the crypto community and report social media promoters like him to regulators. They need to know how to apply due diligence too before advertising and not just give the responsibility to investors. They must learn the hard way.

it may not be the last that we will see in social media. if authorities won't make a move, it is on the users' now how they will react on this kind of advertisement. it goes to show that some of the personalities don't even know what they are promoting for. as long as they are getting paid, they don't care what they are giving to the public. people should be vigilant and not jump on any hype brought by their idols.

Well, he is simply living up on his own terms, as he promised he would. Frankly, do you expect anything positive from a guy like this?

People looking for legit financial advices must follow others who are on their same purpose of life. Serious people who are committed with the quality of the content they promote and the results of their work futurely. There are very few people like this on the internet nowadays, but it's possible to find, especially minor channels which don't get hyped by the algorithms of Twitter and Youtube.

Not a new thing in this industry I guess. But what can we expect on social media platforms? Contents won't be filtered as long as it does not violate community standards unlike promotions which are widely allowed. Many scam projects are doing fake promotions wherein I think their way of 'investment' in order for more people to fall on their plans.I do not want to promote vicitm blaming in this platform but that's just one of the harsh truth- to study what you are engaging yourself with. To almost anything which is new to one's awareness, prior knowledge is important, perhaps on this industry. If an individual won't have enough knowledge of this industry, they'd just eventually float with huge loss.

Twitter is full of scams, not just crypto related but fiat too. If something seems too good to be true then it probably is. We have influencers, people like Logan Paul rugging investors with shitcoins or NFT projects. You are responsible for your own investments but obviously paid promotions can catch your eye.

You need to be vigilant & keep your wits about you. Nobody is going to protect you so you need to do your own research into any potential investment. Do not get tricked or scammed by snake oil salesmen.

I don't know this guy. Though I have been there before, in a similar situation, where I blindly followed those so-called influencers. Generally, it is a bad idea to find a piece of financial advice on social media, the term itself should already suggest. The saying of "not financial advice" is just a bullshit. The influencers and the project owners know that their intent is mainly for publicity. That is where it gets wrong, where the mass is easily deceived by mere publicity.

Im not sure if someone had minted those fake nft project. If so, then they are really dumb for not doing their due diligence.

There is a further explanation just below the main tweet. The project is non-existent, so the mint process just directs the user to https://sourznft.com/dillondanis/ link.

It's not even surprising to me. I have seen a bunch of influencers getting paid by scammers to promote scam tokens. These influencers were also scammers too. They care only about money but not about their followers. Only dumb people who still keep following influencer's advice.

Newbies shall never ever follow any advice from influencers. Almost all influencers were playing mind games to its followers. Caffezilla was only a part of a few trusted influencers that exist on twitter. Most crypto influencers on Twitter were liars and scammers.
