I am not sure whether scammers are getting smarter or other usrers are becoming more careless!
No, they are not smart. Theymos said "Scammers are always stupid", that I totally agree with. Unfortunately, there are people who are over-greedy and easily fall to traps of stupid scammers. I don't say victims of scammers are stupid, they are likely smart but just over-greedy.

These events just shows that scammers and cyber criminals roaming around the crypto space are getting smarter and sharper whem fooling people making it very hard to get rid of them.

since  the scamming methods they are using are mainly the same as it has always been i don't think we can say they are getting smarter. they are just copying the same thing that has been successful before and repeating it.
i think it is more about the fact that there are more newer members around and most people being greedy these days (not applicable to this case but in other ways of scamming) specially those who have lost money trying to invest.

.
There are lots of threads and posts here in the forum about scams, phishing and fake websites but there are still people who continiously being fooled and falls for these kind of traps. Despite all the tips about vigilance and being cautious, they are still at it and this is not a good sign. Good thing that the mods are swift enough to nuke such names and impostors very easily, else newbies might get distracted and victimized by the said account. Just a public disclaimer, Electrum doesn't have any wallet support or any representative here in this forum nor do they plan in deploying such any time soon. Also, all info that one needs to know about the wallet is already posted on their site, therefore all people that downloaded  their wallet only need to read what's in it and they're done.

The important reminder I want to say to you is: Be careful with any accounts that includes the world Electrum in their usernames and other key words if you have intention to ask for support from other coins or services.

Yes, the scammer a making small adjustments to the actual Url and they replace it with a phishing Url.  Angry  Your best bet is to write the official Url

down on a sticky note and to put it close to your computer. When you want to visit the site, just type the original Url and you will be sure that you

would be directed to the correct site.

This will take you 5 seconds longer than simply clicking on a random Url, but it will save you a lot of money and problems later.

If you are curious, you have to see the post history via the archive link below. Today, I learned one more thing, nuked accounts can not be linked via url links.  Smiley

According to modlog, the account was nuked yesterday.
For questions if you need, please search for available answers in those channels: https://electrum.org/#community
From the official website of Electrum, you can easily see there is no contact emails, they only guide that if users have questions, ask for help from (Community > Support) :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0
https://www.reddit.com/r/Electrum/
From that, be very careful with the above account that claims to be Electrum Support (a newbie account). The age of that account is serious thing because how long Electrum wallet has been here? Years, but their support account just created recently (about 2 hours ago) and has still been a Newbie.  Smiley

Please report those scammers, their posts to forum moderators.

How to report?
I want to recommend you to make a short report content (in fact it has to be short due to character limits) in order to help moderators who received your reports fastly catch what you report. So please read my guides too:
Those guides are not for reports, but you can retrieve some points for your report contents from general posting techniques.

This type of scams are very common and are happening regularly on social media, what puzzles me is the fact that people yet fall for it. It’s really nice to see that members here were active and took care of the problem before it could cause damage, also I liked the advice that people should avoid interacting with keyword based accounts here. Hopefully newbies and other members will learn valuable lessons from this post, and save themselves from falling for such scams.

Example of scam: https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1196894/elon-musk-news-latest-twitter-account-bitcoin-scam-tesla-space-hackers-hacked

Unfortunately we cannot blame the people who fall for this schemes since some of them has not been informed on the modus of some scammers around and good thing there's a warning post like this so that it  will be a reference for the newbie users once they read this on how these scam acts works, And for sure those who victimized by them learned a lesson and they should step up to tell there bad experiences so that they will save the upcoming newbies to fall on this scheme.
