When I first came into the cryptocurrency space, that's one of the first things that I have tried to earn Bitcoin. Everywhere, I see ads on this BTC faucet and whatnot, but at the end of the day, it's not worth it. Having seen so many threads about it here in the forum, it made me stay away from that type of earning. With your question about "if it's worth your time," it isn't.

I have seen different websites as well those viewing ads, and you would be rewarded, it's not worth, IMO, either. Unless you would invest in it too and maybe get an ROI. But it's not guaranteed. With the Captcha typers also, it's not worth the time as well.

I used a faucet to test the wallet in my Bitcoin node when I first set it up. This was useful for me, but, as others have said, if you want to earn a few Satoshi for investment or income, there are a lot of better options. I used the BitBlocks faucet for a while to evaluate that coin, but it hasn't done much, and I doubt if the coins I got are worth more than a penny.

Many people getting attracted with the use of these faucets because the word free earning some of them want to make a huge of profit with the use of this some of the people right now are getting encouraged with the use of the bitcoin and other coins because of that many people want to have this and wait for the market price of the coin brings up and gives them a huge amount of money.

Still, it's better to find a job than wasting your time here because even you go with 24 hours trying to earning with this it's a small amount only but the end of the day the faucet websites are the one who gets a huge amount of money and they are just giving a small amount of money to the users that dreaming they can earn a large amount too. I'm not saying this is bad to be practical only.

Even at current prices the faucets that I tried in 2013 were not worth it.

Payout is just too low, even if you can automate hundreds of them. Remember, the website needs to earn more from ads than they give you.

I think they are the first thing newbies are interested in, in order to get at least a couple of satoshis and feel their connection with the world of crypto.

Personally, I don't see any point in them, because what the user will receive doesn't correspond at all to the time spent on it.

Faucet was never a good source of income in short-term, but can be a way to get some sats for future speculation. When bitcoin just worth $1k, faucet can give you 0.001, and then decrease following the price of bitcoin. So yeah, it was always 'cheap'.

Maybe those do that are using some bots, and not manually doing it as it will waste a lot of your time.

do calculations:

200 satoshi every 1 hour X 24 hours = 4800 satoshi per day

4800 satoshi per day X 30 days = 144000 satoshi = $ 16 per month

how much does your PC spend on electricity per month?

will you get to claim satoshi every day?

I tried some faucets a few years ago, was already bad back then. I think it could be a start for some newbies to get into crypto but seriously, what are you gonna do with 500 Satoshi which you need weeks to accumulate? There never was free money and will never be but as a point of entry or something simply for the sake of checking it out once I would endorse it. Eventually you won´t get rich and you will need to either trade fiat for BTC or work for it in some capacity

I recently noticed that some faucets still attract so much traffic, and it really got me curious whether using faucets daily is actually worth your time.

There might be some that are, but I assume a lot of them are useless; not even necessarily because of how small the rewards are, but because Bitcoin fees are a lot higher these days than back when they were plausible. I could easily see fees (because you have to consolidate the inputs somehow) eating up most if not all of what you've earned in a day.

Most of the traffic probably come from newbies who just want a taste, or people who literally have nothing else to do that they may as well earn a couple (maybe even literally a couple lmao) of dollars. It's not worthwhile for a vast majority of the population.

Hi,

I know crypto faucets have been around for a long time, but I never bothered to try any of them.

I recently noticed that some faucets still attract so much traffic, and it really got me curious whether using faucets daily is actually worth your time.

Please share your opinions about them, and your experience with them if you actually used it for some time.

Thanks in advance.
Faucets are nothing but waste of time. Success of faucet comes from time where faucets paid people less money but the price of bitcoin boomed so much that it looked as if faucets are actually rewarding. Moreover it's popularity primarily comes from bloggers and youtuber who I don't know why keep it on the top of list of "ways of earning bitcoin". Faucets are just great for the advertisers and middle men you will just be paid peanuts. I would instead try to learn some skill and sell it in the time it takes you to do faucets.

To be honest
From faucet sites only the admin of the Faucet sites gets profit.
They get money for visits to the site and also for the CAPTCHA that a user filled to get faucet.
From the past i haven't heard anyone winning a big amount from faucet.
So it's just waste of time.
Rather if we will utilise that time into something productive then we will surely get some pennys.

Faucets are a complete waste of time.I know that some people were using Faucet bots that are automating clicking and captcha solving on multiple faucets and the bot is running 24/7,but it's still not worth it.
The most popular faucet bot is Faucet Collecor, but AFAIK,you will need 2captcha credits to run that bot.
Faucets were attracting big traffic 5-6 years ago.Now most of them are slowly dying.

How have you noticed they attract a lot of traffic?

I think they only attract people who start and are curious but don't want to spend money buying.

Faucet mostly are useless and only greedy & lazy guys try to earn a few cent of income from faucet.

I don't offense people who are newbies and curious what is faucet and try clicking to earn a few rounds of faucets, but if they think of faucet as a way to get income, significant and stable income, they are wasting their precious time.

The forum can bring more things than faucet to people. If you are ready to learn, there are many legends will help you to move up. In middle of your journey, believe me you will be able to get good income and it will increase over time simultaneously with your knowledge growth.

Regarding to faucets, the most interesting helpful features are for getting experience on testnet - testnet faucets are valuable things for newbies to learn without any loses from mistakes. You can get a list of Bitcoin testnet's faucet from the thread Bitcoin Testnet. Activate, experience it, but don't trade and get scammed.

There is a site the gives testnet faucet for multiple altcoins: https://testnet.help/en/dashfaucet/testnet

People are still using faucets but not for money, right now most of the people who use them go for testnet faucets. They help a lot with testing services like casinos or exchanges. Faucets for real coins are only a waste of time. Or they are business only for the users who know how to bypass the captchas.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
I consider myself as a very lucky person who was able to make the 200$ biggest faucet win by rolling 10000 on freebitco.in, again this was not what happened to every other user so it is a matter of luck and not that you can roll every hour and get paid like anything.

Read about it here - Got 200$ from Freebitcoin today morning, call that a BIG WIN

Freebitco.in is the one still running strong even in this era.

If it was so easy then people would be churning faucets all day and not looking for jobs. Nowadays with the price in the 5digit market average dispensed amount from faucets is not even comparable to dust. Most of them are thus a waste of time if you ask me.

You never know when all the time your invested in growing your faucet level on a specific site might end up zero because the site decided to shut down. Roll Eyes

I used them back when I was new in crypto, recently checked my blockchain.info wallet and had collected about $30 (at current rate). I did those faucets in 2015. Imo they are not worth your time, they are tedious and give pennies, you could be using that time elsewhere.

Faucets is still attract people especially newbie on cryptocurrency, because you can earn some satoshi by just solve captcha or watch AD and it's FREE. You can also visit Micro Earnings boards to look how many users still using faucet to get free coins.

Honestly faucet only wasting time, 50-100 satoshi/hours isn't worth. Let's say you have claim all the faucet for 1 month, you only get 50-100*24*30 = 36000 - 72000 satoshi (worth $4 - $8). So, actually you have work full time for 1 month only get payed for $8. It's better if you find a job in real life or become freelancer, you will get more money than doing faucet.

Nope. I'd honestly just work grueling jobs at fastfood chains like McDonalds rather than spend hours and hours on end collecting faucets. Faucets should just be used by beginners to get access to a small amount of bitcoin to play with, and not for monetary reasons. Almost every other moneymaking method(besides the unethical ones) are miles better than collecting faucets.

I think some people still do. But the huge majority of those who are still using faucets until now are probably either newbies who are excited to get hold of their first Satoshis for free or gamblers who are killing time while enjoying games on bets coming from faucets. I belong to the latter.

The longer you are with Bitcoin, the more you realize that spending time and effort gathering Satoshis through faucets, waiting for them to cool down before claiming once again, and so on is just a waste of everything.

But don't get me wrong, faucets are a good way to attract new Bitcoin fans, although they should know better than using it for the sake of accumulating Bitcoin. Faucets are giving away too small fractions of a Bitcoin.
