I laughed while reading this comment, because I don't think that any one would want to bet on his favorite team to lose, the reasons why the team is his favorite team is because of their performance, and truth be told that one would not keep any team that is not performing well as his favorite team. Just think about what am saying, if you know that this team is not performing well you can't keep them as one of your favorites, even if the most experienced player is among the team, 1 person (1 player) can not hold the whole positions on the field when the game is being played. Although the experience player will try his best but he can not carry the whole cross alone. And again their are teams that kills the ability of an experienced player, when the other 10 players are not doing well (like assist) you won't be able to perform well. And some clubs that knows your worth will find away to take you in to their own.
I don't know why I have always not been siding the ideas of betting on your favorite team.

Some people here will have some huge trouble detaching from a lot of things.

I may support one team due to their abilities or personalities, but I will never invest too much emotion in them as I know they will not do the same to me. Also, losing a bet on a team I support is normal. We all lose, be it betting for your favorites or not. You will simply get over it, and there's no use glossing over the fact since you will eventually forget the loss, move on, and bet again.

People should really learn to give little to no emotional connection with trivial things such as this in order for them to live be more rational or logical on their decisions. I'm not saying that it's bad, but it affects things a lot.

It is totally normal that your mood changes when something you're interested in goes wrong. Especially when it comes to sport, some people take sport to the heart and go super fanning on them becoming stans. I have a friend who is a big fan of Bayern Munich for example, when this team loses he spends the whole week whining about it his mood changes so bad that he even makes his surroundings wish for this team to win just for him to not ruin their mood lol.

When it comes to putting a bet on a team you love, when this team loses the pain is doubled because not only your team lost but you also lost money.
Good thing is that this feeling of sadness is temporary and doesn't last forever. Thar is why we shouldn't really take sports this seriously because it's not a matted of life and death.

Such feeling is just normal. We are only humans and so such feeling of despair will always be there if we lose the bet especially if it is our favourite team to begin with. But do remember, life goes on after the game. So don't take it too much, maybe the next game is yours. Also, it won't be the first time that you will lose. As long as you are betting, the chance of losing is always around the corner.

It's just fine to feel saddened after a loss regardless if we placed a bet or not since that's a normal reaction of our emotion. But we need to move on and try to get back on track on our next bet. There's no 100% smooth road to winning every bet. Consistent wins are hard to achieve but what matters is, that winning is more often to happen than losing.

That is exactly my take on this. There's nothing wrong to feel being broken-hearted. But as I said, don't linger on that pain. Your head will go crazy if you will go back again and again on that unhappy moment of yours. Think positive and move forward.

I guess that’s how a fan should be, that you still manage to appreciate their efforts and hardwork even if they lose in the end. But the feeling of getting sad and depress will always be there, most especially if you are betting a huge amount. But since losing is part of gambling, and its outcome will always be unpredictable, so you have to control your emotions, and just accept that losing is inevitable when betting.

However, it’s not all the time that you will consistently lose from your bets as there are times somehow that you still manage to win and gain profits. So it’s like gambling is a mixed emotions, sometimes you lose and feel so down, while at some point you also win and enjoy your profits.

From my own end, the problem isn't about my favorite team losing the match or myself losing the bet, instead its about the level of bad mouthing and mockery I'll receive from my friends who are fans of opposing clubs. They will really deal with me vocally and never let me have peace for the day. Some will even go to the extent of uploading my picture on their status claiming that I'm going through a lot RN. Lol.
Good thing is that my time to revenge always come and I return the favor upon match loss of their own respective teams.

For the record, I don't bet on my favorite team (Chelsea). It makes me sad when they lose, talk less of having a stake on them, the pain is doubled. I stake on other matches, and even when they're losing and my money draining, the fun I get from cajoling my guys creates a collateral for my lost funds.

It's just fine to feel saddened after a loss regardless if we placed a bet or not since that's a normal reaction of our emotion. But we need to move on and try to get back on track on our next bet. There's no 100% smooth road to winning every bet. Consistent wins are hard to achieve but what matters is, that winning is more often to happen than losing.

I think it is not only hard but infact it is too much hard to be positive because when your team loses a match, it always hurts to be betting on that team.

Also, you can see when your team wins then you feel better and when your team loses then it hurts to most and when it hurts too much when you supported them from the start then it will more hurt even more.
In simple words, it is not easy to be positive but it is a challenge to be positive with your team and always support them at any time when their performance is good or bad.

To hard if we really aim to win badly since it might be so hard for us to watch our team losing since we can also think about the money we are about to lose.

For sure we feel that especially if the money we spend is the last money we have and for sure pure frustrations will be earned after the match end. Its same with out team winning same with our team winning since we feel satisfied and so happy with the result.

Its not really to be positive in this situation so what we can do with this is at least we enjoy the game since this might give us fulfilment after seeing the result.

I get equally sad for both the loss of my money and that of my favourite team am fond of, and as a fan it's quite easy to feel the two sides of the loss equally if you gamble responsibly by betting with money that you for anytime can afford to lose.

People mostly feel very sad about their the loss of their money for two reasons maybe, the money they spend on the betting for the team was much for them or it's either they don't really have any feeling of attachment to their supposed favourite team. Perhaps there is a stage in the competition that your favourite team has strived to get to, let say semi-final or finals stage and suddenly your team lost the game, as a fan somehow you will be touched by their loss even if you don't want to.

Yes, the last two things are different in context, and yes sometimes apathy and don't care even if you lose, yes if the feeling of upset and regret is definitely in my opinion, even though the feeling is as small as in our hearts, but this goes back to the original purpose of betting, if only to make money in my opinion it will be a bigger feeling that will be received by the gambler.

When my favorite team loses, I of course experience negative emotions, although I convince myself that, unlike me, everyone there is a millionaire and everything is fine with them anyway
When I lose a bet, I practically don’t feel any emotions at all because, firstly, the player is initially ready for such an outcome, and secondly, I prefer high odds, so I lose a bet much more often than vice versa. Losing is the norm. The most important thing is the overall balance, and it is important at a distance of a couple of hundred bets and there is no room for emotions (the distance is too long).

I won't be sad because my favourite team lost the match but I will be sad because I lost my money and it's okay since winning and losing is part of being a gambler just like for a team and for the record you don't have the extra pressure called important match, every match you bet is important but for the team some matches they might take it easy and not going with their full power unless every match they play is some form of knockout.

Well yes, and I think we do all feel the same. Reason behind this, is our expectations. We favor a team because we admire them for a reason; could be a player/s or nationality, and the likes. Now, with betting, it is not only because our expectations aren't met whenever we are losing, but also the idea of losing money, affects us. No one wants to lose in the first place, in any field of interest. Losing is indeed part of the game but it's just hard to accept it instantly given that we hope for winning and also we are losing money literally and no one wants that. Emotions of regrets and sadness are normal simply because we're humans.
