Hi. Its good to see this coin doing fine. Has anybody receive fiber giveaway promo. At begining of the launch, i enter into the promo having tweet fiber promo and posting on my facebook including my email. I ought to have receive my coin by now. Over to you dev. Where is my fiber coin?

This is answered be the team several times. They gave away fibre to over 1000 people, but there were alot of double and fake entries which they had to delete manually (otherwise it where 4000 people or so).
They also said that if you feel like you should have received your coins but didnt, to contact them, you will receive them. All unclaimed coins will be given to funding of developments.

So much coin has not the nice community like this.
I never see a FUD or aggressive post here, it's really a nice place to discuss.

Dev are active and believe in his coin. So much coin has a higher marketcap and don't have the feature that Fibre is providing.
The road will be long, but I'm sure that today price is really low.

This coin deserve to be in the top 30 marketcap Smiley, and to be in the top 30, the price has to be ~350k sat.
I'm holding and supporting this coin as hard as I can.

The team never disappoint me and always responde when asking some questions Smiley

Team, please release a visual 'how to'. Make it easy for people like me, i can judge if it is understanded easily Smiley.

Such as the password when you are connecting to internet via wireless. Its 'Fibreos'.
When you have fibreos on your usb, plug it into your laptop or pc and restart your pc and enter your BIOS. Go to boot and select your usb drive. If you cant select your usb drive because it is not there, please contact 'mxxxxxx' as he helped me through the settings change.

So:
1. Extract fibreos to your harddrive
2. Open rufus, click on the disk image to select fibreos which is on your pc, and make sure you usb is plugged in (it should detect it automatically)
3. Let rufus write the files to your usb (take up to 15 minutes)
4. Reboot pc (with usb plugged in), enter BIOS mode, go to boot, select your usb as first option. (Just go to where your you see your harddrive, enter, then select your usb instead of your preselected harddrive, enter, save and quit. Now it opens fibreos. (If it does not shows your usb as option contact mxxxxxx)
5. When connecting to internet wirelessly, enter the password 'Fibreos'. Now you can connect to your internet.

Hi

Yes, we will be working on another video so everyone can understand how to operate FibreOS

Thanks for the the step to step guide Smiley

Crypto since 2014
In case some people missed my post a few pages back:

I know many people may want their Fibre Os to look like this:

Thankfully it is possible and this is how:

For this to work, you'll need to extend the size of your usb partition to fit the extra GUI onto it. It's very easy if you follow the instructions below.
You'll probably need a usb with at least 6gb of space though.

Just boot up the usb and open the program called GParted. To find the program, simply drag your mouse to the top left corner of the screen. The screen will change and there will be a search bar in the middle of the screen. Just type "GParted" and an icon will come up. Click on it to open the program.

In the top right corner of GParted, click the drop down menu and select your USB device.
Then right click on the partition at the top (the long bar) and click Resize/Move.
Then drag the end of the partition (where the arrow is on the long bar in the new window) to the very right side.
Click resize and then click the tick at the top of the window.
Now you can close out of GParted and you'll have much more space to install programs.
(you'll probably need at least 6gb)

Then once you have done that, press Ctrl+Alt+F2 to open a Terminal in fullscreen.
Type "fibre" (all lower-case and without the ") for the username and
"Fibreos" for the Password (with a capital F and without the ")
Then you will have logged in successfully.

Now, to install the new GUI you will need to type:
Code:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
followed by the Enter key.
If will ask you for the Password. Type "Fibreos" and press Enter.
Now your computer will install the new GUI.
If you don't want to install extra programs such as libreoffice (they take up a bit of space) then instead of typing the command above, type:
Code:
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends ubuntu-desktop

Near the end of the installation a message will come up with two options. One will be "gdm" and one will be "Lightdm"
Select "Lightdm" with the arrow keys and press Enter.
After everything has finished installing, type "exit" into the Terminal. This will log you out of the terminal.
Now you can press Ctrl+Alt+F7 to go back to the desktop. Restart your computer now.

When Fibre OS boots back up you will be presented with a boot menu allowing you to select which disk you want to boot. (GRUB 2)
To boot from your usb, find the line that says Ubuntu and press enter. This will boot the os again.
If you want to get rid of this slightly annoying menu, log into Fibre OS and press Ctrl+Alt+T to open Terminal.

Now we are going to install a program called GRUB Customizer. This program will allow us to stop the boot menu from appearing.

Copy and Paste (or type) these lines into the Terminal: (make sure to only paste (or type) one line at a time otherwise it doesn't work)
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:danielrichter2007/grub-customizer
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install grub-customizer

Now your computer has a new program called GRUB customiser.
Now search for it by pressing the button in the top left corner of the screen and typing "GRUB customizer"
click on the icon to open the program. You will need to type the password to open the program. (its "Fibreos" without the " in case you forgot)

Now under the List Configuration Tab, hold down Shift and highlight all of the option except the first "Ubuntu" option.
Click Remove at the top and then click save.
Now click the "General Settings" tab.
Make sure the options "show menu" and "look for other operating systems" is unticked.
Click save again if you needed to untick any of those options and now you can close the program.

Now every time you boot from the USB it will boot directly into the FibreOS with the other boot options and it will have the new theme.

If this tutorial helped you in any way, please feel free to send some Fibre below.

For noobs like me: extract the  OS to your hard drive, open rufus, click on the cd thingy next to image or something, and then write it on your usb via that program. I probably sound like an idiot to you tech guys.

No you don't. We need Noob cliff notes --to make the general masses more educated and hands held going through this ride. Don't underestimate the value of providing Fibre for Dummies...
