morocco's style of play and tactics remind me a lot of those used by greece in 2004, when they surprisingly won the european championship as outsiders.
the advantage of the moroccans is that almost the whole stadium is supporting the africans and they are pushed even more.
Morocco is truly a dark horse. Their performances were resplendent and they haven't lost yet. Morocco looks to have a good mentality and they always appear confident against whoever the opponent is, because they have nothing to lose so they can play without any burden and this actually makes their performance look good. If they could just keep playing like that, I think they will have a chance to win against France.
Morocco has a very good defense, from the 5 matches they have played they have only conceded 1 goal against Kana in the group phase. Actually their game is so simple, they wait and when they get the chance they will attack. In the matches against Spain and Portugal they did the same thing. They waited until half or even up to a third of the field to defend.

It's good that they are very solid defensively, they hardly make the slightest mistake that will give their opponent an advantage. And even they rarely commit fouls in areas that could harm their goal. Apart from being solid in defense, their goalkeeper is also very calm in dealing with threatening situations.

I'm sorry to say it, but I think that Ronaldo is the biggest culprit for the defeat of Portugal in the quarter-finals, because of his selfishness and the destruction of the unity of the team before the most important game of a great generation.

I see your point also. Right from his club Manchester United, he has not been of good character and inspiring to the team players threatening to leave and that also happened in his national team. If the coach decide to play him by the second half means the coach was not satisfied with his performance and that should make him change but he became a bad egg, leaving just immediately after the match was a sign. I hope Ronaldo won't end up badly with the press.
I never thought that Ronaldo was to be blamed for Portugal's defeat going into the semi-finals.
in the game against morocco the portuguese played badly in the first half and after the second half ronaldo was introduced there was little positive change though in the end they failed to score the equalizer, it was the game of the whole team.

and regarding Ronaldo with the press, I understand that Ronaldo hates the press because so much bad news always comes out for him.
I actually agree with you for last match of Portugal against Morocco. Ronaldo played in good in that match. He was in good position when cross came from wing to Pepe as I remember. Ronaldo's shot was also nice when he found chance. People are expecting Messi type of play from Ronaldo, like he individually creating chances. But he has different style and I think he gave all he got as old Ronaldo. Portuguese team was worse than its glorious days tho. That's why they were unsuccessful.

There is a good reason for Portugal to lose this match as Portugal's coach brought Ronaldo on the field in the 55th minute of the game so Ronaldo did not improve the game much in those last 35 minutes.  If Ronaldo had been brought on from the start of the game, Portugal might not have been in this situation and they might have beaten Morocco. Portugal lost this match due to a wrong decision by the coach of the team
There are many mistakes in Portugal's game, that's why their game is not very good.  It could have been if there was no way to win but they had to lose this match due to their own fault anyways they have to accept that they have no choice but to.

Portugal manager has been put Ronaldo into the bench while against Switzerland and the result is Portugal can able to wins with huge scores at that time and against Morocco yesterday he has attempts to do the same thing but Goncalo Ramos who playing well and make hattrick on round of 16 while against Switzerland was cannot performing well yesterday and if you watching the match Portugal players seems very hard to break the defense of Morocco and Ronaldo also cannot do much even i have counting during the match Ronaldo only has 1 shot on goal so this proven Morocco defensive lines is very solid and cannot be breakable

I know that rumours of sacking Southgate will start coming up but I think that will be a very wrong decisions if the FA decides that, since he came the system has change he has improved them, the play with more youths and he only selects those that are playing consistently, last time England were in the semi final and at the euros they were at the final now if it was not the defending champions they would have reach the semi final where they would face morroco and that makes it likely that they would go to the final.

I don't think there were any big mistakes from Southgate, or any player as well. Kane lost the penalty, that will haunt him forever. But at the end of the day, both teams are great and only one had to win. France had a bit more luck this time.

There's nothing wrong about England, they were good.

Morocco is always careful about their goal post than the opponent's goal post and that is why they go went far the world cup. I now see why Sir Fergie said good attack gets you goals but good defence wins the league for you.
The idea is that if I can prevent you from scoring, we get draw at worse but if I am lucky to have a goal, I win you.
Furthermore, Morocco's defense is fantastic, no opponent can score against them. Africa continues to dream. In this tournament, Morocco played their hearts out. Their play was motivated by a desire to win. African teams need to stop being underrated, one day we'll watch them lead the way.

There are giant killers, but it's time to let them go? In the semi-final, they will be facing France, which is the strongest opponent.

the advantage of the moroccans is that almost the whole stadium is supporting the africans and they are pushed even more.

Morocco has the support of both the African fans and Arabic fans. They're been supported by almost everyone in the stadium and they're making good use of that privilege. Morocco hasn't played the best football at the tournament but they have always found a way to win games. The biggest challenge will be on the 14th against the current champions. That match is going to be a most watched as France will be looking for a ticket to go defend their title while Morocco would be hoping on continuing their fairytale at the world cup.

What's going to be interesting about this match is the fact most France players in the squad has African origin so this is going to feel like an Africans semifinals. The physicality and skills will both be present on that day but we'll be routing for Morocco all the way from African

I just add to what you said, Morocco really plays nothing to lose.

even if Marocco lost the game the other day, Marocco is not under great mental pressure. after all, they were prepared to lose to the opponents they would face. however, that does not mean they will not provide resistance in every match. As Cygan said, this reminds us of the 2004 tournament. In fact, Greece's performance at that time was very bad. it's just that, they were lucky then. Marocco is aware that their opponents are not easy opponents. and if they play with open schemes, they are finished. this is football, sometimes the game doesn't go the way we expect. Marocco tends to play with bus parking tactics, like Jose Mourinho's tactics. uniquely, Marocco's defense was quite strong and very disciplined.

however, Marocco will face a tougher team in the semi-final match. the scenario, Marocco will play with the same pattern against France. I'm pretty sure, to stop Mbappe and Dembele is a tough job for the Marocco squad. In my estimation, Marocco will not be able to withstand the onslaught of Didier Descamps' troops.

That's true Morocco tactics and strategies worked till now and that has brought them  till here but after that theu have to face France on semi-final which is the strongest of them and their game is as fierce as Morocco.  This is going to be an intense match and now I think Morocco will not make it to finals because of France.

I wouldn't be surprised by a narrative like this, because indeed he always attracts the attention of many people even when it's a natural thing to do as a player. The Portuguese players who played on the field totaled 11 people, but why was there only 1 name to blame and even then he didn't play from the first minute. I think in a team like this it's not worth blaming one player, it's not fair to the players concerned. Defeat for a team is the responsibility of everyone who is in that team.

This World Cup was the last chance for many great players like Neymar, Ronaldo or Messi. Only Messi is still in the game for the world title.
Frankly, Ronaldo has not been playing at a high level for a long time and his influence on the Portuguese team was destructive.
Portugal played its best game in the round of 16 when Ronaldo did not play from the start.
After that match, Ronaldo was the first to leave the stadium and did not celebrate the great victory with his teammates, and allegedly before the match he threatened to leave the world football championship if he did not play from the start.
Because of all these tensions with Ronaldo, there were problems in the team and there was more talk about Ronaldo than about the next match with Morocco.
I'm sorry to say it, but I think that Ronaldo is the biggest culprit for the defeat of Portugal in the quarter-finals, because of his selfishness and the destruction of the unity of the team before the most important game of a great generation.

You believed all journalistic tales. This is sad, because since they work, journalists will continue to invent them. Morocco was better yesterday, that's all, no need to invent some culprits and destroyers, because otherwise you will have to explain how Ronaldo was able to destroy the Belgian team, and then Spain  Grin Perhaps all because of the fact that too much was said about him? By the way, you can still blame him for the failure of the Brazilian national team and at the same time the German national team  Grin

After seeing many surprising results, I wouldn't be surprised if Croatia and Morocco meet in the final. In fact, if we see such a thing, we will experience a world cup that we will talk about for many years. Nobody could have predicted that these two teams would win so many matches, since our predictions surprise us, I started to think that Morocco could be the champion.
Let's see what Portugal can do tonight Cheesy
Bro you can't underestimate Argentina because the way they beat Mexico and other team , one man army Lionel Messi has a ability to beat strongest defend lineup and score a goal lonely so I a pretty sure that he will kickout these old man's team coratia, it's true that Morocco is a real challenge for any team because they beat one of the strongest team of world cup name Portugal, which is more than a disaster for any team now, we hope that Ronaldo fear well will be little bit good at semifinals but unfortunately Ronaldo leave the staudim with a tears  also Neymar leave the stadium with tears

The World Cup in Qatar was last chance for Ronaldo. The Portuguese star could not do his best in the Qatar World Cup. Portugal had to leave in the last eight on Morocco's last night. They lost 1-0 in the quarter finals. This famous Portuguese star is now 37 years old. probably he may not get the chance to play in the next World Cup. Because he will be 41 years old in 2026 World Cup. In this World Cup, it has been seen that Ronaldo has fallen a lot under the weight of age. Considering that, Qatar can be considered the last World Cup of Ronaldo's career. At the end, against Switzerland in the sixteenth match and against Morocco in the last eight match, Portuguese coach Fernando Santos did not keep him in the starting eleven. The world may never see this legendary player again in the World Cup.

If you have been following Morocco from day one you will understand that those guys are playing good football and they are playing even one of the best footballer in this world cup.
Their attackers are used to destroying defenders one-on-one I remember one match, probably the match before the Portugal that the attacker single-handedly destroyed the defender of Spain.
I can also tell you that Morocco is the best team in terms building up the game from there own 18th and end up in the other people's 18.
They always play defensive and when they get possession of the ball they don't shoot out, the to play pass even from their 18 box to the opponent.
They have strong players and strong team and good coach and strong fan base and success is also in their side.

The Morocco team was taken lightly by the Portugal coach. And he paid the price for this mistake in Portugal's defeat. Against Switzerland, without Ronaldo, Portugal's attack played very well and scored 6 goals. The Portugal coach thought the same strategy would work against Morocco. So he did not give place to Ronaldo in the starting XI. And so Portugal's gameplay was quite slow in the first half. And on this occasion, the Moroccan players made some good attacks and managed to score a goal as well. In the second half, with Ronaldo, the Portuguese players were attacking, but they were not able to score. Portugal lost badly because of bad decisions by the coach.

I doubt that in this match there was an underestimation of the opponent, it was 1/4, at this stage it is difficult to underestimate anyone. Perhaps after the win over Switzerland, the Portuguese had a little overestimated opinion of themselves, and who can blame the coach, after such a victory, apparently he did everything right. In the second half, Marocoo had a great chance to score the second goal, but Costa saved Portugal. Ronaldo was already on the field at that time, and we will never know what could have happened if he had played from the first minutes. )
