As I said before, they are quite good and have some really good players but when compared to Brazil at the moment it's clear the difference will be a bit obvious.
Maximizing draws and trying to take chances in Penalties is a good thing, but the problem is whether they can survive the onslaught from Brazil or not, especially with the fast play that Brazil always does on both sides, this is clearly a little more difficult than one might imagine.
It would be better if they continue to survive and maximize draws at normal times because playing all out while keeping pace with Brazil's game will obviously be very difficult for them in my opinion.
I agree with you because when Croatia faced Japan in the round of 16 they seemed to find a problem on the front lines because when they had a golden opportunity they failed to score a goal. but if we look at their defense in the previous match they were quite strong because they only conceded 2 goals. whatever strategy they will play when facing Brazil, of course they will be a little pressured by Brazil. These two teams are equally strong, but the quality of their players is different because Brazil players are very strong in every position, especially on the front line, the presence of Neymar and Vinicius will be able to cause a big mess in the opponent's defense.

I started to believe in England to eliminate France one way or another. Especially if they manage to carry this game to extra time it would be in favour of them. Because I expect France to try to keep the most ball possession from the beginning of the game. England might let them do it until a point. England should just look for opportunities with fast attacks.

They have just the players to take advantage of that kind of attacks. I hope Kane continues to score as well after scoring his first goal in the World Cup against Senegal finally. His performance can also play a big role for a win.

A World Cup break of two straight days after 17 straight days of World Cup action. 2 days off was just too exciting for me, I could not contain my excitement. There are only eight games left. In as much as I am enjoying this break, I am also looking forward to the quarterfinals. We can look forward to Brazil and Argentina both completing a clean sweep tomorrow. There is nothing I miss more than samba dance celebrations.
With the 2 days off on the world cup schedule, at least I can sleep well since yesterday and don't stay up late to watch the world cup. But I also feel lonely if there is no match tonight, maybe because the effort and excitement of each country that competes makes everyone very enthusiastic to watch it. Argentina and Brazil will certainly meet later in the semifinals, hoping they will perform optimally and be able to beat their respective opponents in the quarter-finals. Smiley
actually you can just watch the replay if you can't watch the live broadcast let alone having to risk your own health by staying up late every night, to be honest I also feel lonely because the world cup match is still on holiday waiting for the next match to see argentina vs the netherlands
Watching football is something that cannot be separated, although rebroadcasting is also a good solution, I prefer to enjoy live football broadcasts. Moreover, we are talking about a football tournament that is held every four years, so it's impossible for me to sleep and forget about the matches that took place, so I will stay up late until the 2022 world cup is over. Argentina against the Netherlands? hmmm I'm not really sure about Argentina, maybe the Netherlands can win this match via penalty shoot-out later. Cheesy

Croatia is looking strong. They might not be able to win, but maybe there's a chance for a tie. Croatia have the defense at hand with the matches that they had, they have the most draw. So I think if they are to be tough and full effort in their defense, they would definitely have that shot on a Draw. I just think that they are capable of doing that. It would be a battle of Offense vs. Defense. Looking forward to the match.
I don't see Croatia in this tournament for a strong team. Theyve had to struggle all the way and there game with Japan, I don't know how that could he seen as a good enough performance to play Brazil which have been in charge of there game from onset. Brazil has got so much talents in its team and finding the back of the net is something you could say would come handy in the hands of Richarlison, Vinicius Jnr, Neymar Jnr and they've got Raphinha to be the power house in getting the crosses in to make the goals happen. Croatia haven't hot what it takes to battle a determined Brazil, not with Pele standing standing in treatment for a motivation.
In the match between Croatia and Brazil, I definitely think Brazil is the favorite. On the other hand, I am very worried about the match between Argentina and Netherlands. If Argentina lose then the best magical player in the world will be defeated, he is Lionel Messi. Maybe this world star will never be seen playing in Argentina jersey again.

Spain's journey ends at the knock out stage in Qatar World Cup. ‍Spain 2010 world champions exited in the last sixteen with a tiebreaker against Morocco. After such a failure of the team, the coach Luis Enrique was sacked from his duties. Another Spaniard Luis de la Fuente became the new coach in his place. The Spanish Football Federation confirmed Enrique's resignation on their official Twitter account. The 52-year-old took the blame for the World Cup defeat on himself.
This is Morocco's second big victim team after initially in the group phase they also managed to blow Belgium.
It's hard to believe in some of the miracles that happened in the world cup this time because some of them weren't even seeded at all, including Morocco.
But now they have really turned into a great team and I really like surprises like this.
Qatar defeated Spain, one of the favorites of the World Cup, in a tiebreaker, Morocco in the last eight of the World Cup for the first time. The result of the match at the scheduled time was without goal. No result came in extra time either. In the end, Morocco win by 3-0 in the penalty shoot-out. Goalkeeper Yassin Bono became the hero of Moroccan history. The way they are going forward with consistent performances, Morocco can do any unexpected something.

Raheem Sterling back for England but I expect the three lions to beat France without him. Just as long as Kyle Walker can limit Mbappe.

Luis Enrique fires (or did he quit?) from the Spanish national team, he should go back to Real Madrid once Ancelotti retires (well, I think he used to coach Madrid, anyway).

Even if Sterling wasn't back it wouldn't be any problem for England side actually. Because Foden played instead of Sterling for two matches and his performance has been really impressive. He scored a goal and made two assists as well. It looks like England don't need Sterling in the starting eleven while Foden is playing this much awesome. But Sterling would still be needed in subs to replace him during this match of course. This match is quite likely to end by extra time at least so Southgate would need some fresh bloods in late game.

England - France is the match I wonder the most by the way. I still see France one step ahead due to Mbappe's unstoppable performance. Walker really has a huge responsibility to prevent him from being productive. It doesn't feel like he will be able to do this job most of the time.

I'm glad that Raheem Sterlings family is okay and he is able to return to Qatar to continue the world cup with England. I don't think Gareth Southgate will play Raheem Sterling anyway, he is just returning from a difficult situation involving his family, so he may not be psychologically ready to play yet. I don't think England can beat France though, but anything can happen in this world cup.

He quit, but i think they agreed to put it that way, because he would have been fired anyway. Luis Enrique was never coach of Real Madrid, he was formerly a coach of Barcelona, and because of the rivalry between the two teams, out of respect it isn't possible for him to coach Real Madrid, except if you meant to say he should return to Barcelona, but Xavi is their coach now and he does not look to be leaving his position anytime soon.

Therefore Croatia will be the challenger in the match against Brazil as Brazil are the favorites to win the match. Croatia were lucky after the penalty shootout against Japan but I believe they will fight to beat Brazil regardless of how the final score is. I'm sure Brazil will win, but no one will underestimate the strength of the Croatian team if everyone is willing to work hard during the match.

There is always a way to beat the favourites, Japan proved it to Germany, Saudi Arabia proved it to Argentina, Morocco proved it to Belgium and Spain and it was all a surprise for a team that was perceived to be weak compared to their opponents. Anything can happen in 90 minutes, but on paper it is clear that Brazil has a huge advantage over Croatia.

And what about the Argentina - Netherlands match, I wonder if the Argentines will be able to resist the Netherlands and win, because the Dutch showed good football. According to statistics, these teams met 3 times during the World Championships and Argentina was stronger in two of them, but they lost to Saudi Arabia at this WC, perhaps it was an underestimation of the opponent.

Croatia performance in World Cup 2022 not really special with 3 games in group stage have once winning and two draw, added at 16 round get another draw before wining at penalty kick. contrast with Brazil's performance from 3 matches in the group stage, they have 2 won and one loss, Brazil won bigger score at round 16 against South Korea and comparison with Croatia performance actually Brazil have 3 won of 4 games, different with Croatia just 1 won of 4 games and three matches result.

No doubt with Brazil have many talented actually attacking line, there are have Vinicius Jr, Neymar, Richarlison and Raphina, still have many talented player at the bench and I think if Croatia priority with open play games faced difficult how to stop Brazil attacking line for scoring goals.

The question is, can Portugal conquer Morocco easily. I'm not sure, especially if "Ronaldo" becomes the Target Man again in the match later. I'm not too sure, if he will contribute much against Morocco later. on the other hand, many did not expect that Marocco would be able to advance to the quarter-finals and defeat their tough opponents. uniquely, Morocco and Croatia are in the same group. and these two teams, entered the quarter-finals.

IMO, Portugal is better off without Ronaldo, they play more freely and freely without the burden on the shoulders of the whole team. so I'm quite curious, what Fernando Santos will do with his strategy and the main starting line-up against Marocco later. on paper, Portugal is stronger in terms of team depth and has a higher probability of winning this match. however, don't be surprised if Marocco is able to keep up with Portugal's game.
If in order to penetrate the Morocco defense which looks solid and indeed the Morocco goalkeeper is currently in his optimal period, Portugal must consider the attack quite mature. Because Morocco style of play which utilizes counterattacks is far more dangerous. fortunately there is Pepe who can always overcome Portugal's back line. As for the composition of the Portuguese players, Ramos seems to be a new reference for Fernando Santos, because he gave a sharp game against Switzerland. If the current Ronaldo is clearly still difficult and sometimes other Portuguese players will focus on Ronaldo. Meanwhile, without Ronaldo, Bruno and Ramos are clearly more free.

As for Brazil and Croatia, there is no doubt for me in choosing Brazil. Chances are still big for them. With several young players who have very good quality and with their complex squad, both the core and reserve squad, this is clearly a real advantage for Brazil. Croatia is indeed a good team too but looking at their current condition it seems that this is still far enough to put up a fight and they can only maximize their focus on defense.

Croatia and Brazil are two world class teams, but the Selecao are the favorites for the Semi-final ticket. Brazil certainly has special ambitions in this match, namely wanting to break their bad record in the quarterfinals. The Selecao have lost three of their last four World Cup quarter-final matches, including in 2018 when they lost to Belgium.

But even though he is the favorite, Tite must also be wary of Croatia's game system. It is possible that the 2018 World Cup Finalists will force the match to end in a draw. Not without reason, Croatia always plays slow and more or less boring football, but that is part of the strategy of Modric and the Croatian midfielder in setting the rhythm of the game which can sometimes paralyze the creativity of the opponent's midfield. So because of that, Tite is obliged to instruct his players to turn off Modric and Kovacic's movements.

I still cannot digest Spain went home the way it did.
I actually gave my vote in this thread about seeing Spain the finals... So many teams I thought they would over-perform are gone now, among all the alleged scandals, etc. This world cup is being quite unpredictable.

I wasn't surprised by Spain's exit, but not at this point in the round of 16. Despite some slight modifications to their squad, they still have a powerful team to reckon with and go further than this in the World Cup. Let me just wish them success next time, although they did their best to advance far than this in this World Cup. Unpredictable events are one of the things that keep football fans throughout the world interested in the game. What a shock to see Spain leaving so soon!
More shock and disappointment have happened throughout the tournament. This time it is Spain to experience it. No one expected Morocco to win against Spain. During the 90 minutes on the field Spain could've made the goals. They missed it and Morocco did it well finally. Upcoming matches are going to be very interesting, and here to some shocks can happen.
losing on penalties was actually not something to be ashamed of because Spain had played as best they could until the end of extra time, especially Morocco, their defense was very good and Spain didn't manage to penetrate it, and even created many opportunities between the two but didn't produce anything because both of them also had a strong defense

Nothing to be ashamed of, true.
But keeping in mind how Spain had performed in previous world cups and the fact Spanish football is one of the most relevant ones on the world, I expected them to encounter little problem to defeat Morocco.  Sad

Let us see how they manage their incoming match against Portugal, I hope it will be a good game.

Yeah the players needed the break its not easy to playing football for almost two weeks plus if anything they need to cool their heads and come back refreshed for the round of 8. The world cup has been a display of many talents from all around  the countries that participated and we the fans have truly enjoyed watching them perform.

Now that the round of 8 is about to kick off i will be very careful on who to place my bet on now because this not a round of surprise wins ,its always go down to penalty shootout and I think i would predict on under2.5 goals in the matches.

"Brazil and Argentina having a clean sweep tomorrow " well i don't know for Argentina but i think Brazil will surely conquer the Croatians. Argentina will be facing the Netherlands who are very good in qualifying on this particular round so if messi and his team want to qualify they really need to step up their game play.

I can’t say what the outcome of the game would be but I feel Brazil should be able to win this one. Their terrifying attack makes them the best team at the World Cup. Another thing is that Croatia clearly know how to negotiate knockout football, and especially games which go beyond 90 minutes, but they will need more than resilience to eliminate Brazil in this Q-finals.

so true. and of course Brazil must win in that match. and you are right, a strong defense will not be enough to stem the attacks of the Brazilian players. Croatia is known for its strong defense. But we must not forget that the accuracy of kicks and passes of the Brazilian players is always good. so that the attacks of the Brazilian players can always harm the opponent's defense. Croatia even had to appear more attacking to be able to keep up with Brazil's game. because if you only focus on defense it will be difficult to have a chance to score goals against your opponent.
Brazil looks like the best team on paper because they have a complete team; from the defense to the attack but if you write Croatia off as tired at your peril. Even as everybody is tipping Brazil to win, I still have a feeling that they will cause trouble. Their last World Cup adventure should be able to tell us how dangerous they can be in stages like this. They might decide to take the game to Extra time just to go on penalty shootouts.

I won't say Croatia is a bad team but when competing against Brazil it is definitely on the weaker side.
They might have a better defense but all in all Brazil's attack is stronger than Croatia's defense according to me.
I think Brazil will win against Croatia with 1 or 2 leading goals.

The quality of the players Croatia has is very disproportionate to Brazil, so Croatia's chances of qualifying for the semifinals are very small. Brazil recorded a good record in this World Cup, they only lost once against Cameroon. Meanwhile, Croatia only recorded one win in the group stage and one win in the knockout stages via a penalty shootout with Japan.

Brazil's strength is far stronger when compared to Croatia, so Brazil's chances are far greater to advance to the semi-finals, because the strength they currently have is perfect in all positions up to substitutes.
