South Korea was really lucky to go through. A few minutes before the goal, the match was going as a draw and I even predicted that we can bet on a draw for this match, but then South Korea scored at the end of the 2nd half and this changed the fate for South Korea.
Uruguay on the other hand was very unlucky as they could not make it to the round of 16. Till the 80 min of the match, they felt they would reach the round of 16 as they were leading 2-0 against Ghana, but the Korea scored in the other game and shattered their dreams.
I think South Korea also deserved to advance after showing a really good performance against Portugal. It was such a dramatic ending for them as they scored the winning goal in the last moments of the game. There was a very exciting waiting after it finished. The worst case scenario needed to be Uruguay's win by 2 goals for South Korea to advance.

Very good hard work for South Korea and brought good results in the last minute of extra time South Korea made a comeback and made the score 2-1, and the second goal was created by Hwang Hee-chan in 90+1 minutes and an assist from Son Heung -min.

I watched as Ghana missed the penalty and I just knew they wouldn’t win the game. When half time came and Ghana was down by two goals to nil, I lost all my enthusiasm towards supporting the African nation as it was clear Uruguay was going to be the victor in the game. I kinda expected more from them but as with expectations, mine was crushed. Well, it was fun while it lasted and they had a good run at the tournament.
A win would have guaranteed Ghana's qualification to the next round but had to pay for their sloppy defending and wasteful attacking. That penalty was the opportunity Ghana had to control the match but they missed the penalty and it gave Uruguay the motivation to press the Ghanaian defense. The first goal was a clear defensive blunder and slackness to tackle a rebound. It is quite painful that Ghana had to lose that match but my heart goes to Uruguay because they did all they needed to go to the next round. It was a very emotional win for the South Koreans. I think they never expected that the would make it to the next round because defeating Portugal was a tough task. But they played good football and tried as much possible to curtail the attack of Portugal and they had luck by their side. South Korea was really quite surprising after previously they were ranked 3rd but were finally able to secure the runner up position while sending Uruguay home early, the match against Portugal was quite difficult for Korea, especially during the match Portugal domination was quite large but the spirit from Korea never gave up really able to give sweet results end, being left behind by 1 goal in 5th minute did not make Korea desperate and even Korea continued to try to improve attacks until they were finally able to make a comeback and win the match with a score of 2-1 , although in another match Uruguay also won from Ghana and both have 4 points but Korea which has a better goal productivity than Uruguay entitled was finally get 1 ticket to the round of 16.

Too bad about Uruguay, but very nice for South Korea. And they can now play against Brazil, which can be a very tough match for the Koreans. Portugal has then drawn a lot better, although the number 2 from the group of Brazil will only be announced tonight. The eighth finals will start tomorrow. The Netherlands will probably beat the USA quite easily, and Argentina will probably have even less trouble beating Australia. That is a big difference in strength between the last two countries mentioned.

after belgium and germany, uruguay (which is also in the top 10 most valuable squads) is now out of the world cup - which nation will be next?
Uruguay has started to find its best game, at first I thought they would have a hard time against Ghana but what happened instead they were 2 goals ahead in the first half. But need to be aware that Ghana may rise in the second half, considering that they are very strong in Group H.
It also means nothing to Uruguay's victory today because Uruguay also could not qualify for the next round after Japan was able to win today's game by beating Portugal. So it is very unfortunate for Uruguay because the efforts of the Uruguayan players have been in vain even though they have won. And South Korea looked very happy today after seeing themselves able to qualify for the next round.

strange to see some matches that looked like they wanted to get rid of difficult teams, france lost to tunisia to get rid of denmark, spain lost to japan to get rid of germany and portugal lost to get rid of uruguay and ghana, some strong teams also failed to advance to knockout round, i think it did so that it is not too difficult in the knockout round later
