I think that the match between England and USA because both teams showed really good play in their first games. Especially England with the 6-2 win over Iran. I'm curious how will Qatar play today against Senegal. If both teams play the way they did in their first games, it should be an easy win for Senegal.

It will be more interesting to see how Germany and Argentina will play there second game after a first match defeat. Today Qatar will take on Senegal, Qatar need to play like saudia Arab and Japan in there second game to keep the tournament alive for the home country.

I think the most interesting match will be between the Netherlands and Ecuador. Both teams showed good football in the first round and are the leaders in the group with exactly the same stats. Most believe that the Netherlands are the favourites in this game, but I think that Ecuador will not lose.

While we wait for the second round of matches to begin, let's take a look at the standings for all groups.

Serbia can do nothing against brazil and it can be seen from the zero shoot has been made by serbia unlike brazil which has been making 8 shoots in total. that proves that if serbia can't even become equal with brazil in term of attack and defense. Serbia is still far from brazil and it's not a worthy opponent for sure. Brazil must face a better team with better strategy than serbia to make sure if its performance is still on a good performance. Brazil feel so comfidence to playing football without even worry for serbia to make a goal caused by serbia has no capability for that.
Crazil was winning easily without any tough game but i do agree the first half was pretty boring for me.

Portugal played well against Ghana, but we will see later when Portugal vs Uruguay. after all, Ghana is not an equal opponent and we can review it in the first half. Ghana really struggled to build attacks, they didn't even have a single chance to threaten in Portugal's defense area. on the other hand, Ghana's defense was really tight and disciplined, they were able to last up to 65 minutes in the second half. sadly, the Ghanaian defender made a mistake.

IMO, the strategy pattern applied by Fernando Santos is quite effective. unfortunately, he always made Ronaldo a Target Man.  every attack Portugal has built, they are always looking for Ronaldo to convert opportunities into goals. Unfortunately, Ronaldo is not as sharp as he used to be. until the second round rolled on, in the end Santos changed his formation pattern and Portugal won the battle.

note : we can see that age comes to us all, Ronaldo really struggled to score goals. again, he was only able to score a goal from the penalty spot.

Iran is the weakest team in this group, while USA and Wales are still balanced. The only interesting game is the one in the evening.

I have never doubted Christiano Ronaldo in this world cup, he must score, and more are coming because Portugal would move past the group stage for sure and he would be one of the major scorers. This is his last world cup, he has not declared it yet, but judging by his age he would probably not play in any world cup again. So, he would give it his best as this is his last shining moment.

Besides, Ghana performed more than expected, at least they were better than the Senegalese team that people were looking up to in Africa.

Brazil has issued an official statement. As per the statement, doctors are currently evaluating the seriousness of his injury. A decision will be made within the next 24 to 48 hours, on whether he will be allowed to play Brazil's second match or not. Their next match is on 28th November, against Switzerland. Now Switzerland is a tough side, and Brazil will be on the backfoot in case Neymar is unable to play. I would rather blame poor planning from the Brazil manager. The Serbs were committing a lot of tackles on Neymar and they should have substituted him after the half-time.

Missed almost every game yesterday due to power outrage in my local zone and I do hope it will not happening again! I guess every home and every TV near me is turned on World Cup and from here until power problems it seems it was only 1 step. Anyway, Brasil won and I'm happy but also sad because Neymar seems to have a slight injury that could keep him out of squad for next game.

For today's opening match, the match between Wales v Iran, I think Wales still has a chance to win. Considering that Wales only got a draw in its first match against the USA, while Iran was beaten 6-2 by England.
Betting for Wales or Iran at this moment will at least still get good odds, because even though Wales is the favorite, Wales still gets odds @2.15 and Iran @3.75.

But if you feel this match is going to be a tough match or not many goals are scored, then betting with under 2.5 goals might still be good with an odds range of @1.58.
Well, whatever the choice is, this is still an interesting match because they are still fighting for second place, and they still have a chance to get it.

Portugal played very well and the game against Ghana was difficult because Ghana had a good defense and on the other hand I highlighted Portugal's bottom line performance which in my opinion was very bad even at the end of the match the Portuguese goalkeeper almost made a fatal mistake which could have made them fail to get 3 points but luckily their defenders backed up quickly.

Brazil's first game was pretty good and it still convinces a lot of people that they are the favorites in this tournament.

Neymar has got an injury on his right ankle and in next 24 to 48 hours it will be clear whether he will play this event or not. It will big blow for Brazil if Neymar is knocked just like France aee stunned due to Kazim injury. Brazil had good Start of worldcup unlike other favorites aka Argentina and Germany.

Nothing lasts forever and I am against focusing on single persons, regardless of their fame. It was not an easy game for Portugal and we see that many teams plays much better against 'giants' than we may expect (Ghana, Japan or SA, or even Canada). Seeing Portugal like they played yesterday, I do not think there is a big future for them in this World Cup. And of course Ronaldo is a good player, but you cannot be blind, he is different than he was 10 or 20 years ago, on his first World Cups (at least he scored a penalty goal, not like Lewandowski).
Next game they play with Uruguay, 4 years ago, in Sochi, Portugal lost 2:1.

Brazil is seen as the favorite in the World Cup and if you look at the players and what top clubs they are playing in, that is very good. In the stadium should have been + 88,000 fans, that surprises me a little. What about Neymar? Is he injured? He was substituted and I saw pictures that are not good.
