But this victory cannot be ensured that in the future they will become a strong team and can win the World Cup again.

A decade or so back, Uruguay surprised everyone with their strong performances in FIFA World Cup. During the 2010 FIFA World Cup, they managed to reach the semi-finals thanks to strong performances from Diego Forlán, Fernando Muslera, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suárez. But after the retirement of their star players, they have once again fallen out of limelight. Unlike the case with Brazil or Argentina, Uruguay doesn't have a very large player pool. The total population is only 3 million or so (1/60th of that of Brazil).

-snip-
Uruguay got a win over Italy with a score of 1 - 0 with this win they became champions and brought home the U20 World Cup trophy.
Some of the teams that top the standings of each group performed quite well and this is a good development for the successors to the national football teams in each country.
It's a shame that Argentina, who became the leader in Group A, couldn't play until the final.
From the last final match, the one who felt the most disappointment was Italy because they failed to fight for the trophy only because they lost 1 goal to Uruguay.

It wasn't that they only lost by a 1 goal difference against Uruguay, but Uruguay was the much better team in that game and could have taken the lead several times during the game much earlier than that. Italy didn't have a single shot on target in over 90 minutes!

In reality the goalkeeper of Italy saved them from Uruguay winning by at least 3 or even more goals. I thought that Italy will play the better football and put Uruguay under pressure, but it was the other way around all the time. The win was for the right team in this match and I wasn't very impressed by the younger players that Italy has in development right now.
Well and I also said that Uruguay won with a score of 1 - 0.
I saw that match was dominated by Uruguay with several fatal attacks.
What you said is true that Italy did not have a single shot that was enough to kill against Uruguay.

But this victory cannot be ensured that in the future they will become a strong team and can win the World Cup again.

Given the fact that Italy even failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, their performance in this tournament is quite encouraging. Still, I don't know whether they have managed to stem the decline. Because during the first phase of the Euro Qualifiers, they lost to England by a margin of 1-2. Right now, I can only think about three European teams who are thriving - France, England and Croatia. All the other teams within the UEFA confederation are declining right now. Teams such as Germany and Danmark now struggle to qualify for the World Cup playoffs.

There are so many positive signals from the recently concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup. And it bodes well for the expansion of the game. Apart from the European teams, everyone else put up an impressive performance. Uzbekistan put up a strong fight in Group A (where Argentina was placed), and Ecuador, Nigeria and Gambia also performed well in their respective groups. Those who disappointed are France, Japan and Senegal. Anyway, the results of this tournament once again confirms the massive growth of the game in Asia and Africa, and at the same time the decline of UEFA.

the tournament has already ended and there was a final that left me very surprised, first because in the final I didn't expect it to be a team against uruguay, definitely seeing uruguay in the final of that tournament was something that left me very surprised and as if that wasn't enough that, even though uruguay became the champion of the tournament, making me even more surprised, looking at the situation on the field it was obvious that uruguay had a deserved victory, despite being a game with few goals, something like only had 1 goal, it wasn't the kind of game where people had great expectations

but it has been something normal lately that the last games of the competitions do not see many goals and a lot of competitiveness, what you see on the field is a game focused on defense by the two teams and the team that scores only 1 goal then becomes the team winner, in that game italy didn't have at least 1 shot on target, so this just goes to show that my theory that they went to play defense, even uruguay only had 4 shots on target. anyway, the tournament has already ended and it did not have my attention during the games

The tournament is about to start in four days from now, and I am surprised at the inactivity of this thread. And this is despite so much controversy related to the selection of hosts. Argentina was selected as the hosts, after Indonesia was disqualified. The tournament will be held in 4 Argentine cities - La Plata, Santiago del Estero, Mendoza and San Juan. Obviously Argentina will be the favorites to win the trophy this time, as they have the home advantage. But I will be curious to see how some of the emerging teams perform this time, mainly Uzbekistan, Fiji and Honduras.
I see that not many people pay attention to this topic because this event is not really that horrendous, but I congratulate the U-20 Uruguay national team who have successfully won the U-20 world cup this time after fighting hard with the Italian U-20 national team (Luciano Rodriguez scored a beautiful goal and at the same time won for Uruguay in the 86th minute)

When we look at the U20 world cup 2022 FIFA had postponed the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
This time the situation was in bad hands for FIFA World Cup 2022 in the event of Covid-19 - which means they have decided to remove this place due to the pandemic.

This decision was taken from the FIFA official website.

As we can see that FIFA has gone back to the normal state for now, they have decided to make the country as the host again and again in 2022.
So far I am not able to say what happened in the U-20 world cup 2021 in 2022.

it is hard to predict for me as I'm not following U-20 except my own National team but maybe the winner will be one of European teams.
It's true that most of us don't really follow the development of football, which can be said to be in the junior section. Finding out on the internet that countries that also often win the World Cup dominate for this section as well as Argentina and Brazil which often win and in the last U-20 World Cup the champion was Serbia.

actually, the last U-20 World Cup winner is not Serbia but it's Ukraine you can see it on Wikipedia 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Serbia won it 8 years ago which is 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup and they defeat Brazil U-20 with a score 1-2

Yes, you're right, thanks for the correction, I meant to write Ukraine but instead Serbia, and it's quite interesting because as the defending champions they won't be playing in the World Cup for now, the rules for the defending champions still have to pass the qualifications, it seems that also apply to this competition, and failing to qualify prevented them from defending the title

In the case of Indonesia being revoked as the host of the U-20 World Cup, there are still pros and cons for me, but either way, it is clear that there was interference or something to do with politics, very sad.
I was a little disappointed when I heard the news that FIFA withdrew Indonesia as the host but it didn't matter, the most important thing was that Indonesia was still given permission to take part in the U-20 World Cup.

maybe in the next U-20 World Cup because I don't see Indonesia in the world cup bracket this year
Indonesia will be replaced by the home team and Argentina will replace it, and Argentina has the chance to become champions because they have been doing it for a long time.

And what's interesting is that besides there will be young players who have also played for big clubs participating in this World Cup, usually new stars will also emerge because this is an opportunity for them to show their skills so that there will be clubs who are interested and offer contracts to them, so transfermarkt would be quite an increase for these young players

regarding the host of this world cup, it seems that some people here have explained that Argentina was chosen as the host of the world cup.
and for who will win this world cup it is not certain or cannot be predicted because it is likely that in the remaining time there will still be many changes in the world.

FIFA have official announcement about Argentina will be host for FIFA World Cup U20 replacing Indonesia, I am so disappointed with FIFA decision because my country removed from host. My government have spent much money for preparing stadium infrastructure but without 100 days before matches begin FIFA announced removed Indonesia as the host.

I don't think Argentina has better infrastructure than my country because there are not any good stadium than Indonesia, seems conspiration from FIFA how to give chance for Argentina get participants in FIFA World Cup U20 after failed in group qualification.

Honestly, I also found FIFA's decision that Indonesia would not be ready to host the World Cup a bit controversial... I think there was some political or monetary issue involved in that.

I am aware of the opposition of Indonesia in not receiving the Israeli delegation in its territory... I respect the disagreements between sovereign countries, but in a sport everyone should have equal rights to participate (with the exception of Russia, which obviously does not deserve the respect of the rest the world for the humanitarian crisis it caused).
Anyway... politics and sports are always linked.

I wish Argentina does a good job in hosting this competition for the second time.

You need to change with Indonesia as participant national team in FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 after FIFA official announcement removed Indonesia as host, but still not any new host team until several days after removing Indonesian. I come from Indonesian and most disappointed what FIFA dedication removing our country.

We have prepare all needed from infrastructure and stadium renovation have spent much money but few months later will begin FIFA announcement make us surprised with removing our country as host. If my position as stakeholders of Indonesian football association will appeal to arbitration committee for appeal from removing our country.
Personally, I am grateful that Indonesia failed to host the U-20 World Cup in 2023 because the political conditions here are still chaotic and also the instability of Indonesia's relationship with Israel

Some even said that some of the terrorists who were arrested in Lampung had prepared terror for the U-20 World Cup if the World Cup happened and luckily the evil plan didn't happen

I hope the chosen host (reportedly Argentina) will successfully run the U-20 world cup 2023 event safely

However, Argentina did not qualify for the tournament, could they host the championship without participating?
If FIFA determines Argentina as the host of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023, of course the Argentine team will have exclusive rights, meaning that they do not need to pass the qualifying round to be able to play in the U-20 world cup. The host country will automatically appear in the World Cup without going through the qualifying stages. Meanwhile, the fate of the Indonesian team is unclear, possibly unable to play in the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 due to FIFA sanctions.

As Indonesian, it was a very sad news when FIFA decided to remove Indonesia as a host of the U-20 World Cup.
Yes. Of course this is a sad thing, especially for a footballer who has big dreams of competing at the world level.

looking at these 3 countries i see argentina as the best destination to organize the world cup, because argentina has always shown that they are a country with a good national team
I think FIFA has other wishes. They don't see which country has the best quality football, but they want to improve football, especially in countries that are still low on that quality. Precisely, FIFA saw such conditions, so it chose Indonesia as the host.

I guess "Argentina"
Yes. There was so much hope that Argentina would host. The reason is, Argentina has just won the Qatar world cup, so it needs to raise the U-20 generation on the international stage.
