Tallking of qatar hosting the world cup, all the player have to work hard for playing in a hot weather.....

Would be cool if FIFA could move it, I hope they move it to the USA. I doubt it though.
Thats not gonna happen.

There was 100% proof of bribes to get votes to change to Qatar. If they don't move it I hope the Dutch team boycots the event.

I guess that would make it the first time that something has happened under FIFA as a result of bribery...

I'm looking forward to seeing the Qatari World Cup - I'm intrigued to see how they actually maintain ventilation when it is hot and humid. It's not just about those in the stadium, it extends to hospitality, accommodation, and transport etc.

It is about time that a Middle Eastern country got the go ahead to host a World Cup.

I agree that WC Finals should be placed in any kind of country but I worry a little bit about some countries with strong religious prohibitions which are then put into the laws of the country and enforced on non-religious people.  I don't know if Qatar is like this.  But for example, should the world cup ever be held in a place where say, women are not allowed to attend the matches.  That's just a made-up example.

I don't like Messi but I was hoping he would win it simply because he is the single greatest player FROM MY GENERATION.

I don't think one player can carry a team like they use to in the golden days of sports. Messi can't carry his team like Maradona did simply because there is just to much athletic talent out there nowadays. Same way Lebron couldn't carry Cleavland in his first years, and won't be able to now. I believe he is more talented than Jordon but has ten times more competition. Just like Messi. Messi could very well be one of the best to ever play the game. But he has twice the competition Maradona, or Pele did. Or even Ronaldo 9 did in 2002.

He might be the best player at times but he isn't consistent and he showed that the whole world cup and only has moments of magic. he was walking around on that pitch. Doesn't deserve it at all.

Ha-ha that would be the level of walking away with the game  Cool

I think they will use sochi stadium again Grin

they have some stadiums, famous one are Luzhniki stadium (who hosted UCL 2008 Finals) and Zenit Arena (in st.petersburg)
other stadium are medium capacities (40.000-45.000 seats)
maybe some renovation will make that stadium bigger

Cool thanks for that it looks a bit weird though how some stadiums have large and some small capacities or more like 1 80K 1 60K the rest 45K
Wonder if the same happened In Brazil didn't check the stadium sizes or if they will expand them a bit since they have 4 years
Anyways recycling old stadiums from the Olympics saves cost and utility XD

But that's neat how they are also making new ones will be a fun cup Smiley lot of places to tour.

Germany played well in the whole tournament, they deserved to win.

I agree 100%
They was great team not just ''one man show'' as Argentina.
Also, during whole World cup they was the best team, with a few really fantastic games (Portugal, Brazil).
Argentina didn't show much in group stage and even after that they didn't show much.

Putin reportedly supposed to spend 18 billion dollars on the World Cup in 2018.

Too bad the Russian squad couldn't even get past group stage in an easy group. They will need a ton of match fixing in their homeland to advance.
Well it won't be as bad as in Qatar I have a feeling they will buy all their players to play in the world cup as a unified team
Just like you from Costa Rica heres a million play for us your from Brazil huh well you can stay with your team well get some Germans and Argentinians
Lets make a team fellows we got the cash  Grin

They are gonna have to fake some birth certificates and citizenship forms or something too!

That's if the world cup even ends up taking place in Qatar. I think that with all the corruption that became revealed that the world cup will be moved in 2022 from Qatar or hopefully the US  Grin

That would be a nice surprise although the Americans would just have people immigrate there instead and give them citizenship XD
(Or perhaps to go into politics recruit a few of those children that are crossing the border since they would be around the right age for Qatar)

The Confederation of Brazilian Football has confirmed that Luiz Felipe Scolari has resigned as Brazil head coach.

After that match it was a matter of time.
