I think Argentina have little chance of getting out of Group C after losing to Saudi Arabia. Mexico and Poland are not favourites for the championship. Right now, Germany is in a more difficult situation than Argentina. Germany face Spain next and they would most likely lose that game. Costa Rica would most likely lose to Japan and if this happens Germany is out of the world cup.
Argentina on the other hand face Mexico next and they are the superior team that can learn from their mistakes. I believe they can win both Mexico and Poland to qualify.
In this case what you say is quite reasonable but seeing the condition of Germany they actually underestimated Japan in this match and it was seen very clearly when Rudiger ran away with Japanese players and of course this is very unfortunate.
Against Spain they had to throw things like this out because it was their arrogance in this match that made them lose.
