McAfee doesn't seem to have as much influence on the crypto market as it did years ago. I still remember his "Coin of the week" show at the end of 2017. But it's over, I think maybe he should retire.

In my opinion he let his hype about himself to get to his head, basically he believed he could do anything and get away with it, this is in fact a shared characteristic among scammers and con men, they simply believe that by using words and a few tricks they can charm the audience and do whatever they want until the day comes when they cannot, and to me it seems that McAfee has finally reached the end of the line and will most likely spend the rest of his life on jail.

Even in jail, he can still voice his opinion, but with his influence and his money I don't think he will stay in jail for long he will make a plea bargain and pay a fine and do community service and he is out again, he can do this because he can pay top-notch lawyers who can do the job for him.
That is always a possibility since we know the justice system works differently for those that are rich and can literally buy their freedom, but everything will depend on what the US governments tries to do with this case, if they are not really interested in sending any kind of message then what you are saying is right, however if they are trying to send a message to bitcoin whales about paying their taxes then it is possible they will do everything so McAfee remains in jail as long as possible.

John McAfee said in a tweet from a Spanish prison that while there he was happy with everything. "...I have friends here, good food everything is good " And that if he is found hanged as Epstein it will not be his fault, it is known that Epstein was found in his cell awaiting trial in 2019 with traces of fatal neck injuries and his death was ruled a suicide.

I would be really glad if this loser is extradited to the United States. He ruined so many lives, and caused hundreds of millions of USD in losses to the cryptocurrency users, by promoting scam ICOs. He continued to promote them even after knowing that these projects were scams. Those who invested in these projects after listening to him lost their hard earned savings. I hope he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
I am really surprised seeing people still following him and promoting his acts even after those stupid and dumb statements that he made against bitcoin after he disowned his prediction about bitcoin. I wonder why everyone still listens to him. He has branded himself as one of the craziest guy in the earth. All started back in 2012 after he went all paranoid due to those murder investigation and everything.
He is already 75 years old. Don't think he will be spending much behind bars.

It seems to me that the crypto community pays too much attention to John McAfee. He does not stand out among the likes of him trying to get share of audience attention in the crypto industry.

I still don't understand why John McAfee would allow crypto devs to use him as advisor on something that's not guaranteed, the man doesn't care about ruining his reputation, that's why he is in all this mess, crypto is not something you can just hype without letting investors know how risky it is. Part of me feel pity for him as I am human as well.

If he will end up in jain, than his promise of eating a penis might be executed quicker than he thought.
He has been an ass for making such calls only to pump up people and get his own pocket full from scam coins. He would go on to say anything just to make some extra money. I like the link you shared haha it still counts days and yeah they should force him to eat it now since they have arrested him Grin.

I never took this guy seriously because he was a jerk and a plague to the crypto community since the moment he started jumping into crypto.

If he will end up in jain, than his promise of eating a penis might be executed quicker than he thought.
But, he was indeed part of some coins and the thing is he should not have joined them unless he had full research about them. If someone tweets about a project positively it has be count as a promotion man. Imagine if Trump tweets about a coin and then backs away saying he was having fun. Being such a influencer and big personality you have to make every public tweet carefully, right?

With this, we should have learned that a public figure doesn't guarantee the quality of the project.
Therefore, we still can't be certain about the project only by the people who promote it, McAfee is not exceptional.
Better to invest in some certain project with no public figure but with strong team and project.

During 2017 we were having the ICO boom. A lot of famous people were promoting various projects. What makes McAfee different is the fact that he promoted so many projects, and he did that even after evidence was presented to him, to show that these projects were scams. And when the promoters vanished with everyone's hard earned money, McAfee refused to take any responsibility at all. He instead blamed the investors.

This news that I just heard really makes me disbelieve. A person who is famous and has a lot of money is caught up in the law, has not paid taxes, crypto scams and scam projects.

Hopefully what you say can be quickly acted upon. So that incidents like this don't happen again.

I dont think that he can spend whole life in bars because the man is 75 years old already and maybe at 80 he will be released because of age requirements(i' not sure about this)

Why his age should be a factor here? He committed a serious crime, and therefore he should get the adequate punishment, irrespective of the age, race and gender. Allen Stanford was 62-years old when he was sentenced to 110-years in prison. What McAfee did was much worse than what Stanford did. I expect a minimum of 100 years behind bars for McAfee.

John McAfee previously had problems with the tax authorities.  He hid on a yacht to avoid arrest for tax evasion.  Obviously, he should have made decent money and relatively easy to solve his problems with the tax authorities.  It is permissible that John McAfee took this issue too lightly.  For that he was responsible.
And now, he was totally busted.
My conclusion is, if I were him/them, I wouldn't associate my name to cryptocurrency publicly. Why? By the time you have your pockets being full, that's the time that people will then take advantage of you (For example, it will be the government). McAfee was too obvious to avoid taxes since he is promoting a platform that would eliminate his taxes. And now, he was confiscated and need for him to pay those taxes.

There are different ways to reduce tax legally, but never this kind. I hope McAfee will be able to recover from this. But since he has a lot of money, then probably he has to hire the crypto lawyers in town that expert on this case. Good luck to him.
Exactly, not only he was too bold with his approach of trying to not pay taxes he was very vocal about it so it is obvious people working for the government were not happy with this and they were trying everything they can to find an angle to bring him down and now it seems they have been able to get their goal as I do not see McAfee getting away from this without a heavy sentence so they can make an example out of him and other people refuse to follow his tactics.

Dunno about you guys but I am really happy with this step from SEC

He is a rich person and I think he will be out very soon. Many people also angry with him because of his fake project promotion. He uses his popularity in the crypto space and promotes the low-quality projects to create hype. Many people lost their money because of this and they must be very pleasing to see what happens to him. Let's see how to ends.

I believe that if John McAfee broke the law, then he should be punished, but only if this is the case. Recently, a lot of different information and some of it may well be a hoax. On the other hand, John McAfee's arrest is a move against cryptocurrencies and the entire crypto community. I think it's worth waiting a little more time and we'll see how this story ends with the arrest of John McAfee.

Extracted this from page 10 para 35 that dude made crazy returns just from his tweets about the ICO lol.

Phew. That is a lot of money for writing random crap with typos and bad grammar. Wonder if he managed to cash in all that or if he also got caught out by dumping. I remember trying to install his stupid app that supposedly pays money for quizzes. A waste of 10 mins of my life as he even managed to scam that one.

He's always drunk or on drugs so don't expect proper grammar from him. He can't even stop sniffing and wiping his nose during interviews. Grin

He sold the last of his dignity when he offered to pump shitcoins for money and shittalked BTC because he did not want to admit he was wrong with his price prediction.

I'm happy he got caught.

Why would you be happy about that, care to elaborate?
Mcafee has already known as the father of shitcoins. He was shilling so many shitcoins and raised a lot of money from people who have been getting fooled by the shit icos in the past.
He feels good to see this guy has already arrested. If you have become the victim of mcafee and i can even imagine what you will be feeling about that. So many people have lost their respect to the mcafee.
Just try to see the fact dude and you will know the truth.

and also one thing for sure is that he will spend His millions or Billions just to prevent from going into jail.
so basically there will be agreement for him not to fall behind bars.
