My thought exactly when I saw this. I mean it looks cool and everything, kudos for the effort but by visiting it you are putting yourself to unecessary risk via $5 wrench attack.
I am also thinking of this, as a tactical guy this is quiet risky for yourself and you are getting yourself compromised as we all know Bitcoin is an asset that everybody wanted to have including extortionists unless you got a couple of private body guards on you. 😅

Bitcoin making a mark and solidifying its stand as a currency that has come to stay with monuments, and businesses like the bar opened in its name is of course a dream come true.
This shows how serious BTC is as a currency and by separating itself from projects like that which has negative reviews, talking about the ban on mixers, it is positioning itself and market as trusted, valuable and a rewarding investment to consider.
We have been seeing something like this frequently and we are going to keep seeing it with more time. The adoption of Bitcoin is consistent and all the restrictions and banning of Bitcoin keep becoming an eye opener to people around to get knowledge about what Bitcoin is and what it can do for us if we hold it. The market is big and can accommodate us no matter the numbers of people in the market. For all that are investors and contributors to the network, it will get to a level when we shall start reaping from the market based on our investment portfolio in Bitcoin.

I would totally go to that bar. And it absolutely gives tons of ideas of physical projects to make sense about Bitcoin. Love the initiative.

The bar looks nice and a very beautiful place to be. People around the world are continuing promoting bitcoin in their little ways even when the currency is not yet a legal tender globally. The little all these people do are what a dedicated and loyal community does for its community to grow. I am really impressed by this bitcoin bar. Let the adoption continues…

This bar looks dope. Really I can see the joy in the eyes of the person present in the pictures. They seem really delighted with this bar. I want someone from Bulgaria to really share the experience here. All like minded people will chill there and it will be really fun. I wish every country to support Bitcoins, and finally then we can see something like this in our country also. Really amazed to see this Bitcoin bar. Waiting to see more updates on this.
I would like to know how many people want to pay with Bitcoin now, with such high fees it seems not so easy, someone or a bar or a buyer must pay these costs. Someday this should normalize, this time it seems to me that this story is dragging on longer than usual, I assume that during such periods the bar will be forced to accept some kind of alternative payment in order not to lose customers, the fact is that no one business can't survive without profit.

This is very amazing to see. Who doesn’t love it when bitcoin gets more adoption (except haters, lol). But anyways, my current curiosity is with the cost of Bitcoin transactions these days, how does the business cope with it? Do customers still pay all that fee just because they want to buy with Bitcoin? I do not know so much about how it works in cases like this so I’d love to be enlightened.
Actually a downside for such transaction not unless they would use wallet to wallet transactions which would make the fees lower. There are many small businesses who tried to do the same thing which is to accept Bitcoin and other crypto as a mode of payment however, fees and volatility of its price became their problem. Business and asset at the same time is quite of a problem obviously; funds in a business are meant to revolve and sustain the business itself. Right now that fees are higher due to the increase with Bitcoin's market price but more likely it will also be shouldered by the customer.

When you say shouldered, you mean the customer will pay the fees? I don’t think that’s easy as it sounds. If you were the customer and you just want to buy a bottle of beer, would you pay the transaction fee that is even higher than the item you’re buying. Even if the the fees was lower than the item being bought, it’s not still easy to put the transaction fee on the customer, in fact, they won’t even want to purchase the item because they’ll be overspending.

Do we have forum users from sofia, Bulgaria here with us on the forum? Check this bar out.
And to the general forum users, isn't this a good business idea?
I think I saw few members saying they are from Bulgaria, don't know what city exactly, but they are not very active in forum these days.
This Bitcoin Bar looks cool and full, but I hope it will remain full even during the next bear run cycle.
I just checked btcmap.org and I saw there are more places that accept Bitcoin payment in Bulgaria, Sofia.
This industry I guess isn't ready yet for such adoption. Well in some countries or places wherein crypto payments are highly accepted then it would be fine since they know how to adapt with these sudden changes. However with countries wherein it is not that supported, it is where things might struggle even if fiat is also accepted as an alternative to it. At the end of the day we'll just hope and support those who took the initiative to adopt at this point.

The very first bitcoin bar was opened in Sofia, Bulgaria less than 24 hours ago, or a little farther than 24 hours ago actually, from the pictures posted on Twitter, all looks very interesting to be honest, i could see real deep love for bitcoin in the faces of those in pictures..

Here are some of them.

Now, the most interesting, and one I love so much is the bitcoin art, a bitcoin painting which is designed in such a manner that it has a hidden message which can only be revealed under a UV light, it also comes with a certificate of authenticity and it's sold for 2.5 million bitcoin sats.

Find more about this on X - https://twitter.com/Plamen__Andonov/status/1730922240756138495?s=19

Look the beautiful stuffs people around the would are doing and building with Bitcoin, this bar definitely will be the first place I visit if i ever get the chance of traveling to Bulgaria, and I am actually motivated to build something like this in my area here in Nigeria when I make enough money to finance it.

This might help bitcoin awareness in Sofia Bulgaria, but my question is do the accept bitcoin, if yes, the they are good to go and it is a welcome development to bitcoin, the thing is that we can't figure out the major reason for the establishment of this bar, whether they are on disguise to know the individuals that are involved in bitcoin, if their mission is defined without any suspicious, for now we can not say rejoice about this recent development because so many things might not be right with this information, it might be a calculated effort to halt bitcoin activity in that area, I have thought about it, if they are not certain about their intention, then I advise people to trade with caution.

I'm curious about how the tab system works—whether it involves wallet payments or traditional methods. How do you think this payment approach affects the overall user experience and cost?

regarding with my country not allowed use bitcoin as payment way we can't make all kinds of transaction payment using bitcoin although with our small scale industry or small coffee shop.
Being in the territory of a country that completely bans Bitcoin transactions or replaces Fiat with Bitcoin,
then there is no longer a loophole to make real adoption like this Bar Sofia did.

I am also in a country that does not allow Bitcoin as a substitute for legitimate transactions,
but provides commodity regulation for crypto as a way of supporting the development of crypto.

Rather than being banned completely, regulation as a commodity in my opinion is also fair enough because the implementation of full adoption in crypto will be more risky and not all people are familiar with crypto.

Although I am not alcohol drinking but seems excited with decision did by Bar in Sofia have accepted bitcoin as legal payment transaction, its one kinds of promoting bitcoin and give benefit when using bitcoin as payment way. One way how to make bitcoin more popular by adopting as payment currency and Bar become most public place have thousand transaction will be easy how to make bitcoin acceptable for payment transaction.
Based on Bulgaria not legal bitcoin will have problem later with Bar accepting bitcoin as payment? regarding with my country not allowed use bitcoin as payment way we can't make all kinds of transaction payment using bitcoin although with our small scale industry or small coffee shop.

Did they include information on what currencies are accepted for payment?
This is exactly where you need to start any story about the bitcoin-bar or something similar. Bitcoin is first and foremost a currency, and not an object of inspiration for a designer or an interior item.

How is the BTC-payment process technically implemented? How long will I have to wait for my beer if the mempool is overloaded during payment and the transaction confirmation is delayed?

To me, this all looks like an attempt to attract visitors to the bar (with a bitcoin theme), but nothing more. Do they accept bank cards and cash as payment? If so, what kind of bitcoin-bar is this?

Im not into this country but if ever a chance I can go right there I will grab the opportunity to have a party with them most likely seems they are a circle of friends or even a community now supporting and keep using bitcoin and possibly could promoting the use of it too, if there's any chance possible can be a business imagine only rare places using bitcoin with a specific place, in my country most of them related into NFT but holding a bitcoin event like this never seen so far.

And to the general forum users, isn't this a good business idea?
Of course, it is a good business idea because we know that Bitcoin is increasingly popular nowadays and the bar owner providing payment with Bitcoin will be quite attractive to Bitcoin lovers and maybe the bar owner understands that in Sofia there is a fairly large Bitcoin community so it will be able to bring a lot visitors to the bar to use their Bitcoins because there is not much Bitcoin lovers can do when they want to spend their Bitcoins other than having to convert them first to fiat because currently it is still quite limited, but with transaction fees this high, does anyone want to use Bitcoin for transactions? Also, the prediction that Bitcoin will be bullish may reduce the intention of Bitcoin holders to use their coins for transactions.

Bitcoin will see much more acceptance in various industries and it will grow. This will help the cryptocurrency industry to grow and also users the freedom to spend without any financial institutions in the middle to convert them into fiat.
But people must take care and check before sending money to anybody or scanning a QR Code because nowadays, even being a legitimate business, they can be involved in a money laundering activity or any other illegal activities. So for example, say you deposited to any such place and in the future, in an investigation, you may face harassment by the tax department or some jurisdiction.
Also, you can be prone to data thieves which can turn out to lose more money of yours or any other harassment.
