In the video the transaction was instantaneous, will Steam through BitPay, accept 0 confirmation payments/deposits? Or it was just a test, since he was testing for BitPay. And anyone know when this will be avaliable in others countries?

Is it still not available in some countries? Well, good luck for that guys. Because fortunately, it's available on my country. Grin
I want to try my first transaction today, but don't know what to buy Cheesy

Now that's sucks...
Why the hell they made regional lock? WTF?
Total nonsense, are bitcoins from lets say Ukraine less valuable than those from USA?
Obviously not, do they afraid of something? If so than what?
This just looks to me like a form of nationalism/racism. Big words i know.
But, WHY?  Huh   Undecided

Is this why the bitcoin price is going up?

BTW, there's no proof whatsoever that this is the "first" bitcoin-steam transaction. It may be the first on YouTube, but defenitely not the first actual transaction. Because the minute steam made the announcement, I logged into my American alt and deposited. Hah.

the main reason for bitcoin price going up recently might be due to the upcoming halving. steam may affect too but i don't think it hold a big role.

I don't think steam has anything to do with it.It is either the halving of new money coming in.
Steam accepting bitcoin is very good news though.

So now bitcoin is usable on steam? That's awesome because if they make it so you can sell things on the market too for bitcoin, then bitcoin will be easier for people to get and more well known.

EDIT: Oh wait nevermind, I just realized you can't cash out on steam.

There is a guy that works in Bitpay in reddit, and they are saying that every country in the world will eventually have the Bitcoin option enabled in steam. If you are not still seeing your Bitcoin option in your steam, you could try by closing steam and reseting it to force the update. It appeared to me a bit later than most people.

I don't think this is the only reason because Bitcoin has been going up steadily the past 2 weeks. There are some other factors in play here.

I am excited though to actually spend Bitcoin on Steam games now! Will make some of this Bitcoin I collected useful

Before Steam ever accepted bitcoin I purchased a game from another Steam member buy giving him bitcoin directly, and I thought "why the heck doesn't Steam do this directly."  I was really excited when I heard Steam was going to be accepting bitcoin.  It is the perfect company/platform to use bitcoin.  A bunch of gamers are the perfect audience to start using bitcoin.

Anyone else did see this? I was excited to see this because I was at work and I couldn't be one of the first to do it, so I watched it and thought damn, it's really fast. It's in fact instantaneous to get 100$ on there and start buying games, skins, cards, anything you want. Bitcoin works great for mainstream use now and it will only get better, in a couple of years all those kids will be buying with the Bitcoin they make on the internet with their content.
great to see that, look easy for us to purchase something from steam, but i wondering why that video realesed on March, but people talk about steam accept bitcoin on this month.

It's good that steam is accepting Bitcoin, but is there a real advantage to paying with Bitcoin over with card/paypal in Steam?

Is there a discount ot something? otherwise it is just a nice extra place to be able to use Bitcoin.
