Yay it looks so easy and fast to deposit Bitcoins to my Steam account. Now I have the excuse to stop using PayPal for buying games on Steam and I don't need to go to 3rd party Steam games resellers any more who are overcharging for their stuff sold for Bitcoins anyways so good riddance  Cheesy
Now I need to restrict myself not to spend my entire Bitcoin wallet on games  Grin

So that's it ? Steam made their update and now they are accepting it officially ? to da moon confirmed then Shocked (why the video title says it's 31 March 2016 though) .
In the other hand , I want to know why they ask him for real information's if they don't really need them ? since It's Bitcoin right ?

yeah they have officially added bitcoin payment to their services, if you check the payment page of steam you can choose bitcoin instead of paypal, visa, cc,... but you still have to fill in your information like name and address.

That was freaking fast though expected as what BitPay promised to release funds prior to any confirmation earlier (few months ago), so it's really great and surely this will attract more users since in the past, I had to go through two different indirect loading systems, before I could load up my steam account. I went on and tried the process myself until the payment (just to see if it's available in where I am), and it seems the smoothest possible way ever to top up in steam.

It is still not available for most of the countries.

I think they just incorporated it as a startup process.
Hopefully it will be worldwide soon.

That's awesome! Been waitin quite a while for steam to pick Bitcoin up as a payment option.

Honestly wondering why it took this long. Would of figured they would want to be a leader in this area.

Looking forward in buying the TI 6 Compendium with bitcoins! It's about time that one of the world's largest gaming store/client/etc now accepts bitcoin as a form of payment for their in-game currency! Good thing I have some spare money to buy steam wallet right now. Will try that option and see whether it would work out. Cheesy

So judging by the speed of releasing the funds in the Steam wallet Valve and BitPay are allowing 0 confirmation transactions to go through immediately? I think we need to input optimal miner fees so as to not get our transactions hanging or something. By the way I think this guy participated in the beta stage of testing Bitcoin on Steam and that's the reason why it says 31st March in the description.

its the same for web hosting companies which accept bitcoin they also ask for real information when you get an invoice
and it is an invoice so it needs to ask for real information

I think and hope more big companies will follow steam's lead and start accepting bitcoin as a payment method.
Let's buy some games first! Wink

This is actually really exciting and a big step. I am quite intrigued by their system, and eager to use it at some point in the future.

When I actually have Bitcoin, that is.

Anyone else did see this? I was excited to see this because I was at work and I couldn't be one of the first to do it, so I watched it and thought damn, it's really fast. It's in fact instantaneous to get 100$ on there and start buying games, skins, cards, anything you want. Bitcoin works great for mainstream use now and it will only get better, in a couple of years all those kids will be buying with the Bitcoin they make on the internet with their content.
