OK, everything should be back to normal.

thanks, theymos. some newbies and Jr. members was able to upload avatars but I guess it's not a big deal.

They have been removed, I uploaded an avatar to test.

fixed. that was less than a few hours lol.

I guess I'll leave the thread title as it is for half a hour or so.

I would keep the thread title as is until Theymos manually demotes Hero Members.

It looks like everyone's activity is back to normal now.

What happened to this taking a few hours?

On the plus side, I significantly improved the efficiency of the activity calculator which was previously sometimes locking up the whole forum for a few minutes.
Thanks for clearing that up. It looks like theymos must have ninja-edited his post after I read it. Although if you read the rest of that post, it does say it will take several hours  Tongue

Whoops.
lol.

Upon further investigation, it appears that everyone who is not a legendary member is affected (possibly minus some additional people). They are now showing as having zero activity.
Legendary = master race

Is there any way to view the progress of the recalculation?
You can chase it via profiles. As of this post it was at about user 12,000.

I accidentally set everyone's activity to that value (and then later I set it to 0 so people don't keep getting promoted to Hero). The system is now going through and recalculating everyone's activity. It'll take a few hours. Incorrectly-promoted users will be demoted later. If you find yourself demoted to Brand New, you'll just need to post a few times after your activity is fixed to get back to your previous rank.

On the plus side, I significantly improved the efficiency of the activity calculator which was previously sometimes locking up the whole forum for a few minutes.
To make it easier people should post honestly thier original activity here Smiley
Mine was 70 and i was a member..thanks Smiley

it is not done manually so posting your current activity wont really help Tongue
