it was brought to my attention that Stefan Molyneux has even put his btc address here...just never made it to his official donation page.

Stefan did put his BTC address on his donation page for a while, then he took it off. In last week's call-in show he said this was because his Bitcoin wallet was corrupt. It would mean that the guy selling you the custom addresses could keep a copy of the private key and repeatedly steal the coins at any point in time in the future. It's an absolute no-go. Just use vanitygen to make your own vanity addresses.

I'm being trolled hard... but fuck it, I'll explain to you: "private key" in this context is the key (some bits) that unlocks the bitcoins sent so some address in order to spend them.
oh, in essence, yes: like having a copy of your wallet, entirely correct.
