Allow me to play Devil's advocate here,

You see variability is an inherent part of the results of measurements and of the measurement process. Observational error is the difference between a measured value of a quantity and its true value. So when a trained scientist measures the sea level and no curvature is found this (in the field of statistics) is considered an error and not a "mistake". The reality is the globe is such a massive object relative to yourself that a null result is completely within the bounds of observational error.

I think that the seasons (summer,autumn,winter,spring) are happening due to the sloping of earth.If you thing that some countries have different seasons than other this might be happening due to the shape (oval) of the earth.I am sure there more physical phenomenoes that proves that earth are not flat.
