I thought I was pretty clear that a 112g flywheel is not sensitive enough to be affected by Earth's gravity and centrifugal force.

I can put a nail in this coffin right here.
A) centrifugal force is a fictitious force, the true force is the centripetal force.
B) the density of an object vs. its medium determines whether it rises or falls and the density of the Earth is not relevant to the gyroscope.
C) the gyroscope's flywheel has what's called rigidity in space and over the course of 6 hours the gyroscope's gimbal undergoes a 90° change in orientation if the Earth is rotating.
D) the gyroscopes gimbal can be attached to the hour arm of an analog clock (24 hour) to simulate perfectly the rotation of the Earth (a 90° change in orientation over 6 hours).
E) GAME OVER

Get a common, household, glass drinking glass. Fill it up to the very brim with water. Then, very carefully fill it above the rim of the glass. Notice that the water can be piled up higher than the rim of the glass for a tiny distance. The water actually curves in this bulge, down to the rim of the glass. This proves that water is NOT flat. The earth is round, and the water curves as it tries to find the rim of the glass.
Okay, I wasn't a Flat-Earther till I read the above. I now clearly see by your experiment that if I sliced off that layer of water and enlarger it thousands of miles, I would have a flat Earth model once I freeze the outer perimeter which represents Antarctica then introduce ~25% solid stuff floating on the surface and molten rock beneath it all. Shit, almost forgot something. I'd need to go to the pet store and procure a giant turtle for its base.

There seems to be some misunderstanding about my point above.
Whenever there is a photograph showing curvature of the Earth several possible sources of error must be considered. Fish eye lenses would obviously distort an image. A more common problem is that virtually all camera lenses project an image that suffers from some barrel distortion.
If you want to accurately assess curvature from a photograph, the horizon must be placed precisely in the center of the image on the optical axis. David K. Lynch published a paper a few years back on how to do this.

Lynch shows that below 35,000 feet the curvature of the earth is more or less undetectable to the naked eye. As one climbs higher it can be measured and he lays out exactly how to do this using a camera.
