You describe that they have been investing modest amounts over a relatively long period of time and that they are doing well in the Premier League. You conclude that they must be having a lot of luck. But isn't it also an option that they are doing great work in scouting and developing players? If a club has substantial success relative to their overall spendings, I would say that they are doing a great job instead of being lucky. It is indeed undermining the hypothetical concept that money leads to success definitely. They are proving that you can do more with less and while I would say luck could play a role if they have an outlier result, I think Brighton primarily really did a good job.
They are lucky and make good use of technology. Reportedly they have an application to collect data related to players. They named the app Starlizard. So they buy players based on data. The previous 2 seasons they were not worried about losing players, so now they have pretty good players like Ferguson, Mitoma, Dahoud, Baleba, and Verbruggen. They divide three categories in player purchases. Player purchases for the present, future purchases and purchases for the future are more long-term.

That's interesting and will look into it for sure, thanks for sharing.

Starlizard, is it something like was used in the movie when Brad Pitt hired this dude who picked players for the baseball team based on data only? Was quite entertaining and if there is enough data, it usually also doesn't lie as you could add any variable you deem important.

Maybe this data based scouting is the future. Of course it is considered already, but maybe not on a sophisticated level.

European teams must be really relieved after end of the transfer window in Saudi Arabia today. Because Saudi teams have been making really big difficulties for European teams for a long time. This summer they have been the most talked teams with the transfers they have made.

They were leaving European teams in a difficult situation in multiple ways. They weren't only going for the same targets with European teams. They were trying to steal their most valuable players at the same time. For example Al-Ittihad tried their best to get Salah but Liverpool resisted their every offer.  Smiley   As long as Saudi teams don't have a requirement of abiding by FFP rules European teams have a really bad future about transfers.

All Ansu needs now is to just keep his head focused on maintaining a good fitness schedule and at the right moment am sure he would get to show us why he is likened to the next Messi with the kind of potential he has displayed already.

You shouldn't be surprised if Xavi asks for Ansu back, once he can begin to feature more in Brighton matches and find his confidence. After all, what's the point of a loan deal, if the player on loan don't return to the original club who did the loaning.
Xavi Hernandez have his reasons, he sent Ansu Fati on loan to another club which is outside La Liga. During his time in Barcelona, Ansu Fati is performing at a mediocre level. The blaugrana encouraging him to gather more experience in an extra competitive league like the English Premier League appears to be an excellent decision for the spaniard. I have complete faith in Roberto De Zerbi, who is currently the manager of Brighton. He's more interested in talented young players, consequently Ansu Fati will be more beneficial for him. We're looking out for a fierce structure of the seagulls this season.
Ansu Fati is unarguably going to be of great benefit to Britton because he is very young and talented, and a side the player choses to play for is one of the best sides in England.I thought Arsenal were going to sign him to be a cover for Saka at that left wing since they were following him and even made a bid for him,but they later chose to give out of favour Pepe a chance to prove himself, and besides, there is even Nelson in the team to  also be a cover for Saka if he gets injured.

Xavi has so many options in his team so it was looking so likely that Ansu Fati was no longer in his plans for this season, and wasn't going to see playing time at the club,so it is the best decision of the coach to loan him out to a premier league side to get more game time.

Every player does have a price, and Mo Salah's price right now is in this $200 million range that the Saudi Pro league outfit Al Ittihad is expected to bid for.
I think Liverpool will have no choice that to let Salah leave if this amount is hooked in. After all, the player has got a limited time on his contract and age.
The issue is if Liverpool will be able to recover and be on top performance in every match this season till it ends.

This was very certainly an incredibly hard decision for everyone involved, but if it is true what is said in this report, Salah will not leave Liverpool this season and a future move is very likely, which I thought would be possible anyway.

But age and contract duration are important to consider here and while the contract duration is one thing, age is another and being offered  £150 million and the statement that they are willing to further raise the offer, I don't know if the decision against selling him is still the right one. But I have to add that I didn't read much about what Salah's opinion was, did he want to leave Liverpool for Saudi Arabia? I am sure that he would have also made some sky high salary.

I think what makes this decision difficult for Liverpool especially Klopp because Al Ittihad continues to increase their offer for M.Salah, this could be one of the biggest factors, because as we know it is very difficult for some top European players to reject the fanstastic offer from one of the Arab Pro clubs. Previously M.Salah had managed to extend his contract there and also besides that I heard that Klopp had made a statement that he would not release his flagship player, they had rejected the first offer from Al Ittihad but I don't know their answer after this offer was renewed by Al Ittihad with a fantastic amount.

Honestly I have to say that if in the end M.Salah leaves and Klopp lets him go it will have a bad impact on Liverpool, because as we know M.Salah is an important player there by always making a significant contribution, so in my opinion Klopp is unlikely to be rash in making this rumor decision, and from M.Salah himself I heard he was not too interested in leaving. I think for other players maybe Klopp could have let it go but for M.Salah it doesn't seem like it will.

Joao Felix firmly believes that his playing style aligns with Xavi's tactics and will help revive his career. He's confident that Xavi will utilize him effectively. Barcelona could really benefit from wingers with his passing abilities. Let's hope he can demonstrate his skills and rediscover his previous potential. Here's hoping it all works out well.

I do not think Joao Felix loan deal with yield desired results; not only is the player washed up form wise; he has also lost his grits and early promise since moving to Atletico Madrid. The bigger question will be that, can he rediscover his sef? Can Xavi bring out the shining star Joao Felix?

That question can be answered after we will able to see his debut with barcelona. It's still remains an unanswered question until we will able to see that with our eyes about how good the performance from felix on his debut with barcelona.
It has become the main job owned by xavi to dig his potential. Felix was still young and i think that he will be using all of his experience to play with his teammates in barcelona. I never saw this guy performed so well in the previous club.
It's time for felix to prove himself as a worthy striker. He may be able to be permanently by barcelona once he will be consistently showing good progress. He has already reached his main target to be a part of barcelona.
It's the time for him to show how good he was to the xavi. We can rate his debut on barcelona.

Ansu Fati no doubt is a very good player, he has once shown the world what he is capable of but his performance drop alot when he sustained an injury and right now his performance has not been encouraging since his return from the injury but maybe this loan deal could help revive his career since he will be playing under one of the best managers in England but the only problem i have with this move is wether he is capable of challenging Mitoma on the left wing, I think it will be difficult to have a decent playing time while Mitoma is physically fit.

Xavi Hernandez have his reasons, he sent Ansu Fati on loan to another club which is outside La Liga. During his time in Barcelona, Ansu Fati is performing at a mediocre level. Let’s see if Fati is up to the task of surviving in the English Premier League, it’s a good move to play in the Premier League because if his performance improves the whole world will see how he has improved and it will help revive his career but if he fails that will be the end.

Salah is still a target for Al-Ittihad? I thought that they would have given up on this transfer already after Liverpool's turning their first offer down. Because clearly Liverpool want to keep him this season no matter how much Al-Ittihad offer. Normally their latest offer is just insane which is around 200 million pounds. Salah's market value is way below this amount.
Al-Ittihad submitted their second bit of about 205 million pounds, and Liverpool management is willing to make decisions on whether to accept the offer or not because if they fail to sell him with this amount, due to his age, they cannot get such an offer from any team again, which is why they may consider letting him go since the player is also interested in leaving.

Quote
But I think Salah could be likely to join a Saudi team after the end of this season. He will have one year to go on his contract with Liverpool in the end. What do you think about this?
If Liverpool will sell him after this season then they should consider letting him go now because of the money which I think they will consider letting him go because he have interest in joining them.

I wonder if the offer will still stand at the end of the season. Because I do not think that we are going to see the exclusive performance that we used to from him. So probably the amount of money being offered is going to go a little down. But they are offering 250 million for him anyway. So even if it does go a little down, it will probably still be 200 million. So I don’t think Liverpool actually has anything to worry about. They are going to get a good price for him even if it is at the end of the season. But I think it is important to mention that they are going to get that much money for him only from the Saudi league.

Joao Felix last performance didn't invite deals from other clubs, Barcelona was his best choice which he voice out and Barcelona reached out to him to seal an agreement, I don't see anything wrong with such move. I think Chelsea rubbish his effort and glad he return after the loan expire, because look at Chelsea till today, they haven't recovered from their loss syndrome, only Lord knows where they will finish the season.

As I last read from tweets of some strong sources, I think he had lot of offers on the table including some from Saudi Arabia as well but he chose Barcelona over all as Barcelona was his top priority. Anyway, I get it that to play for Barcelona is his dream but will he really be happy at Barcelona? I don't think so because Barcelona has lot of players right now and I don't think he will be getting regular chances often. I honestly hope that he does have some playing chances because he is a good winger but situation doesn't seems right at Barcelona. Kinda similar to Chelsea...

I also doubt that Barcelona is the safe haven he was looking for to finally get his chances to prove how good he is (although I am not sure he really is).

But this transfer has some weird details I would say, because as it seems he is taking a gigantic pay cut taking into account the average salary of players at top clubs.

I can't really believe the full story because I think that these clubs have had too many backdoors in the past to pay the players more than is shown on the public payroll, but it is said that he only gets €400,000 for a whole season. I don't know... Some money on its way to Virgin Islands? Cheesy

But if he didn't decline offers from Saudi Arabia, I would have been out of words. A 23-year-old player who was said to be one of the greatest talents going to Saudi Arabia would be awful. Good that didn't happen.

Joao Felix is going to play for Barcelona by earning only 400k euros for one year. This is a really shocking amount to me honestly but he doesn't seem to be uncomfortable with this. Because he has captured an opportunity to play for his dream team and he won't be a part of a team in which he isn't wanted for a year least.

After that I don't know what will happen to Felix. Maybe he might be a permanent member of Barcelona depending on his performance. But I don't think Simeone will ever change his mind about him.
Honestly, it is too low. But there is one thing that Joao Felix loves about Barcelona, and he has had his dream club since childhood, so he grabbed the opportunity to play and didn't emphasize salary. This would be the turning point of his career if he could perform in Barcelona.
Joao Felix is a player who needs a good environment around him to perform well. Atletico Madrid is a defensive team, and for some tactical reasons, Joao's adaptation to this context did not go so well. This problem also arose in Chelsea's. Joao Felix is a very creative player; to manage this type of player, you have to be able to release all that creativity, which Barcelona already have, as well as Barcelona boss Xavi's praised for Felix's versatility after bringing him in.
Hopefully Felix can shine at Barca this season and live up to his undeniable potential.

@GbitG at this stage more than the money he needs to rediscover his old form because if he continues to falter then no European club will want him and his only option will be the Saudi clubs. Furthermore I have never really understood how he flopped at Chelsea because he has so much potential hence I was very happy to see him sign for Barcelona and hopefully Xavi can help him unlock his old potential once more.
In fact, we all know how latent talent Joao Felix is and he is still very young and needs a club that can really build his talent to be more reliable, of course, it also requires a coach who is very patient to be able to build Joao Felix talent to be more reliable and Xavi always has the patience to build a career from a player and I am also sure that while at Barca Joao Felix is able to appear consistently he will definitely be able to bring out the hidden talent he currently has.

I really think that Paulinha to Bayern Munich is a good one if he should go it will be something to be happy of, because
Leon Christoph Goretzka  has performed poorly last season and also this season, he is right now very slow can not cover lots of ground and space . Bayern Munich bringing Paulinha is a good one, he is fast and also makes crucial tackles .

Thomas Tuchel side need to improve the their defensive depth because they are caught on counterattacks by their opponents most at times, it's better Paulinha comes to the Bavarians to improve their defensive midfield.

We'll find out soon enough, at least for now give him a chance to prove his worth. whether he deserves to play with Barcelona, or.. we don't know yet, but soon, we will see if he can make a contribution to Barcelona. Interesting isn't it, let's wait.  but at least Felix is a player who has talent, maybe with Barcelona he will find his rhythm. after all, Barca really need a striker to sharpen his attack line. moreover, after Ansu Fati was loaned to a Premier League club. Felix's arrival this summer should be able to increase the attack power of Barcelona's front line. after all, Felix was loaned from Aletico not as expensive as when Chelsea borrowed him for only half a season.

IMO, Felix should be able to play well with La blaugrana. he has truly established partners in the Barcelona squad. both in defense, midfield and front line. Now, we just need to wait to see whether this Portuguese player can be relied on. we'll find out soon enough, as he goes game by game.

I think 7 goals in 37 appearance is below mid but there are even more other players that are in Barcelona main squad with half performance of what he has done in Barcelona. He is merely 20, this is even the time he was supposed to have good PR in Barcelona but perhaps they don't have him among the future project of Barcelona. If his journey to Brighton turned out to be a successful one, I don't think Barcelona will want to have him back to the club, he will be more of good player as investment than been use for Barcelona, more clubs will come for loan offer and Barcelona will make more money as they want.

Fati wasn't bought, he was an academy player which means Barcelona labour will yield good fortune, if this project Fati turn to be a good decision for Brighton, we should expect more loan from Barcelona to other clubs to make money and more revenue.

The last time Paulinha was seen in the Bayern Munich office for a photo session as a new Bayern Munich player this summer but soon he returned to England and the reason the transfer failed at the last minute was because Fulham failed to find McTominay as a replacement. There was no word of an agreement between Fulham and McTominay which made Paulinha have to cancel his agreement with Bayern Munich. This is a complicated transfer and it seems bad luck to get Paulinha. However, the latest news is that Bayern Munich will make Paulinha their main target in January next year and it is very clear that Bayern Munich's interest will not stop because of previous failures.

Source: https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1699587866265854173
The Portuguese player is a magnificent midfielder with a height of 1.90 meters. He has the potential to be an important player for Bayern because he is very effective in the air balls. It is effective both in positions from the goalkeeper and in free kicks. If Bayern Munich chose him, he must have researched it deeply. Hopefully we'll see him in the Bundesliga in January.

That is clear, especially with the departure of Ryan Gravenberch to Liverpool, making the midfield options for Bayern Munich dwindling. Therefore, it is hoped that Paulinha will be able to fill the existing void so that Bayern Munich does not need to be confused when a midfielder is absent or has an injury problem. As a midfielder he made 35 appearances for Fulham last season but his poor record has affected his form enough to earn 14 yellow cards. But if you look at his position as a defensive midfielder, it is quite natural that he will definitely commit quite hard offenses so that his team is safe from conceding goals. It's really worth waiting for his role with Bayern Muchen and I hope he is at a better level when defending one of Europe's big teams.
