However I don't think Manchester United have added Depay to their transfer targets. There is no meaning in giving it another try considering his performance in the past. As for a possible striker target for Manchester United, I really don't know about a candidate for now.

Personally, I think there are some very ineffective decisions from Erik ten Hag, including the matter of player transfers that have the potential to take Manchester United even further from the hope of winning the Premier League trophy.

I have no problem with whatever strategy Erik Ten Hag will implement with Manchester United, including bringing in many players from the Eradivisie to the Manchster United squad. As long as it makes Manchester United better then he is free to do whatever. Even though it would cause a lot of displeasure when he did that. When he included Martinez in the squad, there was initially debate as to why Ten Hag had brought him in. The reason he doesn't have the ideal body for a centre-back and whatnot. But over time, Martinez showed that Erik Ten Hag was not wrong to bring him to Old Trafford. Even now he is one of the mainstays of Manchester United's defense and is considered capable of making their defense better than the center back they had before.
Once again I say if what he is doing makes the team perform better then he is free to implement any strategy.

Leandro Trossard has been one of the attention getting players in the EPL since the beginning of the season. 7 goals and 3 assists in 14 matches. I think these are very impressive statistics considering that he is a left winger. There are so many strikers in the league who can't score even this many goals. Interestingly, Brighton still haven't extended his contract as it expires next summer. This makes me think like maybe he doesn't want to rush for anything. He might be waiting an offer from a bigger club first.

At this point, Chelsea might intervene in January. There are some news like Chelsea are interested in signing him in this transfer window. This might be a good transfer for them in case they don't sign Ronaldo instead. I still think they would make use of a striker more. But of course Trossard is really playing like a striker already at the same time.
