I don't think so. It's all about money. Barcelona has a very big debt. Even if it's not even getting paid by the team. Barcelona could not afford to give him a new contract with salary expected by him and so he was deciding to leave from barcelona.

I saw that actually Kounde and Christensen were able to make Barca's defense strong, but when one of them was injured, Barca's defense was very weak. I support asking for barca to think more about buying another defender in the transfer market next year, it is very important so that barca can continue to compete in national or international competitions. I hope Xavi can make Barca's defense strong again.
