Even though Nunez didn't really contribute much to Liverpool, let's say the purchase price so far hasn't really matched. But there's nothing wrong with giving it a chance in the middle of the season and being able to make a difference. Maybe at least Gakpo and Moh Salah can provide efficient shooting space.

To be honest, I doubt Nunez, because as we can see, his performance in the World Cup has not been outstanding either.

But at least Liverpool are not lacking in attack players after bringing in Gakpo, but with two key players, Luiz Diaz and Diego Jota left for a long time.

According to sources Talksport Diaz will recover in March and Diego Jota at the end of January, so I'm assuming it will be a good combination, and Gakpo could be placed on the left attack, Nunez in midfield and Mohamed Salah on the wing right.

Cody Gakpo will be problem for Darwin Nunez after inconsistency performance and less goal contribution with Liverpool after several matches playing, exactly last night I think Nunez still have underperformance with many time losing great opportunity for scoring goals. Believe or not Darwin Nunez will loss his regular position if still underperformance and Cody Gakpo have goal contribution later when appearance with Liverpool on second half season.

Don't missing with another great center forward Firmino, I sure still make more competitive for getting regular center forward position in Liverpool starting line up.

I haven’t seen Gakpo play for PSV to be honest but he was very impressive in the World Cup with the Netherlands. It looks like a good signing but to be honest we really need a midfielder or two. Our midfield has been substandard all season now. We need more energetic players in midfield, youth & physicality. I hope there will be at least another player join in January.

Van dijk was a key who has been making gakpo feel confidence to pick liverpool over MU.United already sent an offer for PSV but it seems like that gakpo itself still not interested with MU. Van dijk being sent by liverpool to make gakpo feel confidence with the club then van dijk successfully convincing him to join with liverpool. Liverpool's strategy to get him is one step ahead united. It seems like that MU was so difficult to get a new player as it's not favourite club again for now.
