Manchester United have opened talks with Barcelona for Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong, 25, but will not pay over the odds with the Spanish club wanting 100m euros (£85.7m).
Is any club willing to pay that much money for Frenkie de Jong?
Barcelona is asking for an unbelievable amount of money for de Jong and I think that no team is going to pay that much money for this player.
Liverpool and Manchester City are tracking Barcelona and Spain midfielder Gavi, although the 17-year-old's release clause in his contract has now risen to 100m euros (£85.7m). Barcelona obviously urgently needs money for new players and is trying to sell current players very expensive but how realistic is the plan?
I really don't think Barcelona should sell Gavi in any case because he can be a great asset for Barcelona in the upcoming future. I believe if they sell this player they will be making a mistake right now.
Manchester City will push to sign a midfielder, with Leeds United and England international Kalvin Phillips, 26, the preferred target. Manchester City is always very active in the market and obviously has no problems with finances
Manchester City seems to be setting up for a really good performance and possibly the title of Champions League. I think they know that with the squad that they have they will do very well in the English Premier League anyway and they are trying to prepare very well for the Champions League.
RB Leipzig have set a price of £100m for France attacker Christopher Nkunku, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris St-Germain interested in the 24-year-old. Another footballer from Club 100? Is Nkunku really worth that much?
Nkunku is obviously a very good player but I don't think he is worth that much. If any team actually decides to go ahead and pay this type of money for this player I think they will be overpaying in my opinion.
