I'm also not expecting Rüdiger to leave this summer. He is the best defender Real Madrid has at the moment. I don't even think it is open to discussion.  Grin  He is one of the best defenders in general these days as well. Even the most capable midfielders and strikers are having big issues against him. You would remember Haaland from last season matchup.  Smiley

When it comes to Guardiola, I think he is lying. He just doesn't want to make his plans clear obviously. Manchester City might not sign a star player maybe but they would sign some more still young talents.

Eberechi Eze has been in rumours recently for example.
Real Madrid cannot afford to lose Rudiger because any scenario that takes him away from the club would be disastrous for Real Madrid’s ambitions this season. With the persistent injury of David Alaba and the absence of Militao, Rudiger and Nacho were the only available options in the heart of defense. But now, with Nacho’s departure and losing out in a race with Manchester United to sign Yoro this summer has left them with limited options.
Rudiger the most experienced available player in the team. He is crucial to whatever thing they stand for achieve this season.
Unless they bring in another defender before the start of the season , I don’t see why they’ll allow Rudiger go.

Harry Maguire's future at MU is in big question. Especially after MU recruited 18-year-old center-back Leny Yoro for $68 million from Lille. MU is still planning to recruit other central defenders. Bayern Munich's De Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite are being actively sought after by MU. Should Harry Maguire stay as Erik ten Hag no longer values him?

If MU can't sell him, Harry Maguire could be out for the final year of his contract and must know that he will only get the chance to play if a player is injured.

I read an interview earlier today where Harry Maguire suggested that the arrival of 18-year-old center-back Leny Yoro isn't gonna limit his playing time at the club rather it'll the young defender the chance to learn from him and the other senior defenders at the club. That statement I think came from a place of absolute belief that he'll always be preferred to start ahead of Yoro but that doesn't mean that the club manager Erik ten Hag will play to his card. For Harry Maguire to remain a regular at Manchester United next season, he must prove to the manager that he's worth starting games ahead of the other center backs in the team.

Real Madrid borrowed €130m from the bank to pay Kylian Mbappé's salaries and bonuses.
On June 30, 2024, just before the first payment of salaries for the new first team, Madrid's cash flow stood at €82m.
This was the club's lowest cash flow level in 20 years.

Source: https://x.com/DeadlineDayLive/status/1817181006677356613

Nothing but nonsense, they could pay over the duration of Mbappé's contract, why hurry!!

You know Real Madrid has always been a club which is able to keep go amount of money as backup for a rainy day. Real Madrid was probably the only club which was not in "Net negative" during the Covid time. so far a club to actually be in a situation like this is probably not a good sign. But this is a time when almost every club is facing financial difficulties. We all know what has happened with Barcelona. Similar kinds of things are happening with Manchester United as well. Real Madrid needed to get some certain players. So even though the money does not look very good right now, Real Madrid will be able to overcome this situation very quickly. Florentino Pérez will obviously look at their rival Barcelona and learn a few things from them.

Florentino Perez apparently decided to remember the times of “galacticos” when Real bought almost all the world's stars for any money and now after winning La Liga again decided to spend huge money on newcomers, although the success of the club largely brought veterans like Kroos, Modric, Carvajal and a very successful purchase of Bellingham.
It is also unclear why Real bought for almost 50 million Brazilian rookie Endrick who is 18 years old and again not much experience. This transfer may turn out to be a “dark horse” for Real. If Real had a free 48 million, it would have been better to buy Olmo or other players who have already played several successful seasons.

Manchester United should decide what they will do with Harry Maguire, if they no longer need him then it is better for them to sell him to get money and reduce the salary burden that they have to pay. However, if they do not intend to sell him, then give him certainty about his future with them. Because a player will also question, and if he is no longer needed then the player will look for a new club for his next destination.

Harry Maguire is one of the players who received a bad reaction while with Manchester United. He made many unnecessary mistakes which ultimately affected the results of the match. At the beginning of Erik Ten Hag's coaching, he was still widely trusted, but slowly his position was shifted because other players played better than him. I hope Harry Maguire can question the certainty of his future and if he leaves then I hope he can be welcomed even better with the good game that he can show.

I'd love that, but ask me I'd say he won't be moving until they bring in another defender. Never for once have I supported Harry Maguire to succeed as a long term defender for Manchester United. I think it was a huge mistake during the time of Ole Gunner Solskjaer. The arrival of Leny Yoro wouldn't affect him, it should be affecting Victor Lindelof who I think should be leaving for Fenerbache soon ( Jose Mourinho wants him )

I will so much love de Ligt to be the next player coming in, Manchester United needs a solid base which they obviously lacked last season due to too many Injured players in the backline. Erik Ten Hag values him, it's just that, he is not the type of player you want to keep, I find it irksome when a defender lacks pace and cannot defend himself.

He was interviewed recently, I don't know the context of what's said but the truth is that, he needs to leave Manchester United for good.

Is like the player Maguire is trying to deceive himself that Man UTD still needs him to continue playing for them and is so sad that UTD are not really passing the message clearly to some of these players. They know how poor he has been and they need to make a change but I see no reason why they haven't terminated his contract if he refuses to leave, he can be a better player at a different club but I don't know if I should call it shame of accepting his fate that's holding or is he afraid of clubs not coming for him?
A change of club and working on yourself is what Harry Maguire needs, if he stays I don't see him getting at least 5 appearances for the club even Evans will have more playing time than himself, I'm saying all these not because I'm writing him off, is just the reality of staying where you're not wanted.

Right now I think Manchester United will not be signing more than one center back again, their priority was to have two new center back and then offload another one, such that they will be a perfect replacement for who ever leaves and the departed Varane, their main target was Jarrad Branthwaite and Leny Yoro, when Yoro was proving more to hard to sign because of Madrid been in the picture they went for De Ligt. Now with Yoro coming I think one of the two options between De ligt and Braithwaite will be recruited not both of them. Also that depends on one of either Maguire or Lindelof leaving.

At first when United wanted to center backs i was kind off thinking they will let go of Evans but right now I don’t understand why they actually gave him contract. The choice of who to stay between Lindelof and Maguire is definitely dependent on the players and the money coming in, my pick will be Lindelof but he seems to be comfortable with been a squad player which is what United need but maguire will want to be in contention which I think is good because they need an healthy competition, but Maguire is looking for minutes which is definitely going to be hard to get at this united team,

As for the choice of a new arrival I think it experience is an edge here with united having Yoro already so De Ligt ticks it for me than Branthwaite, he De Ligt is also young and he played in the highest level before and comes a bit more cheaper than the other

In fact, the team has a basic squad. Of course, adding better players to this would be great, but even if they don't, this squad will compete for the championship in every tournament. They will continue to be one of the important candidates for the Premier League championship. Pep may have made a strategic statement or he may have told the truth.

Currently if Manchester city do not have any player departing I don’t think in they will be having any problems without any further arrivals they have the options on the bench already, my only concern is the DM role, they only have Rodri there any injury to him will definitely affect them hard, they signed Matheus Nunez but he hasn’t lived up to expectations so maybe Pep will give him time till January before they sign another player

Maguire should just leave and never look back.  Tongue  One of the goals they made the Leny Yoro transfer for was to send Maguire from the team undoubtedly. Maguire is no use for this team, I have said it many times.

I can't believe how the Red Devils paid 87 million euros for Maguire... Those were really dark times of the team but now they seem to have a real owner.

I hope they make progress next season. Finishing even in top four would be a good improvement for me honestly. At leat they would return to the Champions League.

Look at the Premier League. Its a bloodbath. Arsenal, Liverpool and others team want what Pep's got. But Pep's smarter. He's already making moves, building for the future. So when he talks, yeah, maybe he's throwing a few jabs, keeping everyone on their toes. But he's also sending a message: We're on top, but we're not slowing down. We're relentless. And we're coming for you. Thats the winning mindset. Thats the Pep Guardiola way. And thats why Manchester City is the team to beat.
Pep has changed everything with his genius, he immediately rocked football after gaining trust from Barcelona with the various trophies he presented, he also repeated his success with Bayern Munich then continued with Manchester City. Every team he handles always succeeds in winning trophies, this fact cannot be separated from his genius in handling the team. The highly competitive Premier League was conquered, it is very difficult to dominate the EPL for four years in a row, but he managed to do it.

What he talks about is always proven by achievements, Manchester City has become a team that is difficult to compete with in the EPL, even Arsenal who always perform impressively are unable to make Manchester City lose the trophy. The new season is almost starting, there is still time for him to target new players before the transfer window closes, maybe Manchester City will release some players and replace them with other players of better quality. Pep Guardiola does not want to fail again in the Champions League, he will do anything to win the trophy back, especially since he knows how great Real Madrid is at the moment.

I think Erik ten Hag should inform Maguire that he may not  feature for the first team again due to the team new signings particularly the new center-back Leny Yoro, however from my own point of view the newly signed defender might not adapt into the squad until after some time and game time, thus Maguire can still continue playing the role until Leny Yoro is fully integrated into the squad, therefore I believe Maguire still have some contribution to the team based on his experience, however  placing on transfer list with a high price tag might discouraged other prospective buyers except clubs from Saudi Arabia league hence he would have to leave on a free transfer next season.

On the one hand, age will be an obstacle for players who have a career in the Premier League because the competition here different but each coach has a different view of the players they have. De Bruyne is a player who sets the rhythm and he plays a role in ensuring dominance on the field. For now, De Bruyne's ability is still good enough to play next season, especially since his contract still has one more season left.
At the age of 33, of course it is still possible for Manchester City to rely on him and even if he cannot be fully relied on in every match, the Manchester City coach himself also knows how to manage De Bruyne's time to keep playing in every match even though it is not full time. De Bruyne is a player who already has value and can also be the key for other players so that he is still worthy enough to be used next season by the Manchester City team, especially if his own contract still has one more season left there.

Manchester United is overhauling its line-up with the arrival of new players and some of its targeted players, here it is clear that Harry Maguire can no longer be used by Ten Hag, and if the targeted players can be brought in by MU, then Harry Maguire's chances of getting playing minutes are very small, and only filling the bench, this will be detrimental to MU because they have to pay salaries for the rest of the existing contract. and Manchester United has planned to sell him while there is still 1 year left on his contract and can make a profit.
but for now I have not seen any other clubs that need Harry Maguire's services

Man City's advantage for several seasons in the EPL is the club's very well-structured management from the lower ranks to the top brass who are able to work together to achieve goals. Therefore, Pep Guardiola is very optimistic with his statement. However, in the EPL anything can happen and it is possible that Man City needs to be wary of clubs that are currently developing. Arsenal is one of the clubs that is ambitious to make history, based on the 2 consecutive seasons The Gunners have changed. In Arteta hands, Arsenal deserves recognition, and on the other hand Liverpool, even though Jurgen Klopp has left, still has the same opportunity. So no matter how ideal Man City is now or next season, it is not a guarantee to still feel safe in the Premier League competition.
Manchester City have good management which is why they were able to keep consistency in their performance and the coach they have good eye and great experience of signing superstars that will make the team great and the management supported the effort with money to achieve greatness.
Arsenal have make a very good move towards their team development, they under Arteta have achieved a good stand in the Premier League in their last two seasons to the extent of becoming the one of the favorites to win the Premier League after Manchester City, and Arsenal again is the only team Manchester City is scared of because they narrowly escape Arsenal to win the Premier League last season.

I am expecting Arsenal to have a good run again next season, Liverpool's title chase is not yet certain because of their new manager who didn't have good Premier League experience, and Manchester United and Chelsea will also make effort to see if they can be in the title race.

Actually, if you look at De Bruyne's age now, it stands to reason that the player is open his mind to every possibility that could happen because when he passed his prime time, so it's not a wrong choice if he prioritizes money above everything else. Now he has decided and will continue playing with Man City for at least the next season but one day he will definitely leave, and for this reason, Man City should start preparing a replacement from now on.

But when his contract ends, I'm not so sure he will be retained because Man City will definitely look for another replacement. For the next season he has decided to stay at Man City and this will be the season that determines whether he is still needed enough or Pep Guardiola has plans for other players in the same position.

Anybody believe Guardiola? I don’t!

Not fully believing what he said because for me it is part of his strategy in getting the desired target players so as not to be overtaken by other clubs.

About 40% of what Pep said I believe because the existing Manchester City squad is very good for the second half of the league season this season. 60% of what Pep said is being prepared in a structured manner.
There is no way Pep will not bring in more players to pursue his target achievement for the 2024/2025 season with Manchester City.
Pep talks a lot. He's a winner, and winners like to win. Sure, he plays mind games. Maybe 60%, maybe more. But thats not the whole story. This guy's a genius. He took a team, lost some big names, and still won it all. Thats not luck, thats leadership. He knows what he's doing, and he's always thinking three steps ahead.

Look at the Premier League. Its a bloodbath. Arsenal, Liverpool and others team want what Pep's got. But Pep's smarter. He's already making moves, building for the future. Anybody believe Guardiola? I don’t!
Guardiola is not making things up! City's team is like a well-tuned machine; it's quick, effective, and ready to take over the Premier League. They have shown that they can keep going even after losing stars. Wow, that's really smart of Pep. Last season showed that they can handle pressure, even when people were doubting them

I'm not just taking the Kool-Aid. This 40% view comes from real, cold facts. It's not luck that City keeps winning in the tough EPL. It's planned out and done with great care. Things could go wrong during the trade window, but Guardiola has a point. This is a smart flex from a team that knows how to stay ahead

Anybody believe Guardiola? I don’t!

Coaches will always claim they have enough players to compete for the season, but they will still grab any opportunity to sign more players. I think coaches use this strategy as a motivational tool for the current players to make them feel that they are the best. Saying we don't want more players makes the players feel that the coach is okay with their quality.

It could also be a means to deceive other top clubs who might see them as close competitors for some targeted players. Other clubs might not be aggressive to get a player they want since a close competitor is not showing any interest in getting new players. Hansi Flick claimed that Barcelona doesn't need any new players, but the same club is doing everything possible to sign Nico Williams and Dani Olmo. I don't believe Pep Guardiola; he is a master strategist.
You are right and this is usually a diplomatic way or language that most coaches use in other not to make the already existing players feel bad that their impact to the club is being neglected by their coach and this way, it makes the player not to feel bad, but coming to Manchester City Pep Guardiola's case, theirs is quite clear that with or without the intention of signing more new players, current Manchester City squad is in a standard condition to contest in any competition, and wanting more players is just to spice up their team a bit.
