It is a wise decision. Germany already has many young players, they don't need Thomas Muller anymore. As far as I know, Kroos also retired after this Euro, German national team needs to have a new generation. I also expect Manuel Neuer to retire as well because he is already 38 years old. Ter Stegen deserves to replace him as the main goalkeeper of Germany. Muller and Neuer can focus on Bayern Munich until the end of their contracts. They may retire from football professional player when their contracts expire.

Müller has also retired at the same age with Kroos. I'm not surprised with Müller's decision though. I didn't expect him to go to Saudi Arabia and I don't know whether there was any offer too.

However I must say that Kroos' retirement decision surprised me much more. Sad

He was still fit and performing impressively. He wasn't having much issues with playing regularly for Real Madrid. He performed in Euro 2024 as well. He could have actually played for a couple of more years but its his decision anyway. I respect that. Ancelotti has already stated that he is ready to have him back if he changes his mind. It is a matter of a phone call only.
