Manchester City 2-1 Borussia Dortmund
Real Madrid 3-1 LiverpoolTwo late goals, one by Manchester City and one by Borussia Dortmund gave this game a frantic ending with a 2-1 win for Manchester City but Borussia Dortmund have the away goal. A 1-0 win for them in the second leg will be enough for them to qualify for the semi-finals.
Real Madrid won 3-1 but at least Liverpool have the away goal. If they win 2-0 at Anfield then Liverpool qualify for the semi-finals.
A beautiful champions league night; Modric and Kroos bossing it at that age in the biggest stage is not spoken about enough; Benzema link up play even remains excellent; Real Madrid deservedly won even with a depleted squad and Liverpool has it all to do at Anfield. Will Klopp get it right in the second leg? i doubt it because TAA was ridiculously exposed lol.
Manchester City meanwhile made me lose my bet thanks to VAR; a 2-1 victory with more to play for in the second leg; its gonna be massive in Germany; i still think Dortmund will go through to the next round with Real Madrid.
The delivery by Kroos to set up the first goal was just great as was the technique to control the ball on the shoulder/chest by Vinicius Júnior before scoring.
If Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid go through to the semi-finals it means both Manchester City and Liverpool will be knocked out - that will be a disaster for English football. Chelsea are still in the competition so theoretically 3 of the 4 teams in the semi-final could be English
