Same here haha, I've gotten used to it, when I'm in a hurry going back to my hometown and no time to search on a add2psu cable, paper clip saves the day, two of my rigs has been mining for years on this method. Cheesy

I haven't used the ADD2PSU, but I have used the atx splitter and the paperclip method.  I much prefer the atx splitter.  Simple, easy, cheap, and it works.

I have used the original Add2PSU, the copy and the ATX spliiter cable. I like the ATX splitter cables the best. Basically all you are doing is connecting the ground and +12v power on signal of the PSU's so they turn on and off together. The ATX splitter cable does it in the simplest and most direct way. The Add2PSU is just a Reed relay that joins the connections when the relay gets power from the Sata/molex connector. From my experience, the splitter cable is the most reliable method. In some cases the the Add2PSU won't turn the PSU's on/off together.

The paperclip method will keep the secondary PSU always on. You need to manually flip the switch on the PSU to turn it off. I prefer to use a dual ATX splitter cable. That will keep the primary PSU in sync with the secondary PSU so they turn on/off together and also connects the grounds on both PSU's together.

Is there any reason to use an add2psu instead of an atx splitter cable?

Yes you can use the paper clip.

Just turn both PSU at the same time and off at the same time.

Attach a small fan or old SATA drive or anything just to provide a small load on the secondary PSU.

Make sure they are grounded together

I am tired of looking around PSU with 6x or more gpu connector. There seems to be second PSU can easily be turned on using paperclip method. Is that how most miners do it?
