What does board does this not affect?  if you can pick one and you are correct I just say yep you are right but not yet wait a few weeks and that board will be affected.

It's not that Bitcoin is not affected but the sheer stupidity of most of the topics is needlessly polluting the forum. I wish mods would take a more proactive approach with this. We don't need repetitive threads on whether this is a biological weapon or if it's worse than a flu or if pool cleaner cures it or how we suffer by staying home and watching Netflix.

I would stick all bullshit into one megathread and apply Serious Discussion / Ivory Tower standards (which still allow a lot of conspiracy nonsense mind you) to the threads that are allowed to stay.

I would allow more then one but in general maybe  1 in five or six subforums.

1 IN each foreign language local forum.  Tell the mods to roll the threads into one in each section.

This disease looks that it will be a major death causing issue for at least 30 days world wide.
I would like to see no more then 1 in each section.

There is facebook, reddit, twitter to discuss it if you only want a thorough discussion of how's the deaths, lockdowns and etc. of this virus not in here.

Some people may love this Bitcointalk platform more than Facebook, Twitter and Reddit. So they love to talk about this in this platform I think.

It is not always like that, just follow the "topic" game of the corona virus, there is no way that flood water can be blocked, like flood water that hits settlements.

Never mind, the Bitcointalk Forum, the world is currently talking about CIVID-19 what else is a forum that has reach all over the world, you have seen a few months ago about the 'topic' of Bitcoin (halved) almost all topics in bitcointalk forum about that.

Everyone is currently panicking with the CIVID-19 phenomenon, so it's natural for everyone to talk about it, just accept what is happening right now, all of that will pass away and disappear when CIVID-19 disappears, if you fight your own flash current that will be swept away, avoid it, find another place to discuss, ignore it better for now.

I agree that maybe a mega thread about Corona somewhere may be better although it will not end side discussion about it in economics section for example

...Nor should it.

The novel corona virus has undoubtedly affected a myriad of Bitcoin users. The lockdowns have affected the mining industry; people are speculating about the effect on hash rate. It has no doubt affected global and local economies and the price of bitcoins too. Not to mention the effects on politics and society. That's at least a handful of boards we should expect discussion in.

This is the biggest world news since WWII. It affects everyone. I'm not surprised everyone on Bitcointalk is talking about it. Duplicative threads should be locked or trashed, but I would prefer if moderators were somewhat liberal about this subject in general. I hate social media, and I prefer reading related discussions here on the forum.

This looks to be the worst epidemic since the spanish flu 1918-1919

that was a three wave attack by the virus 🦠 it killed off 20 million people when the world 🌎 only 1.2 billion

I would argue while this may not kill as many people as world one or world war two it will affect every country in the world 🌎.   To think we should not write about here is lets play ostrich and stick out head in the sand.

What does board does this not affect?  if you can pick one and you are correct I just say yep you are right but not yet wait a few weeks and that board will be affected.

Corona threads complaining about the Corona threads are taking over Meta now.

Someone is asking to lock(down) all Corona topics and banning it(s entrance) to our forums? Seems familiar  Roll Eyes
However I agree that maybe a mega thread about Corona somewhere may be better although it will not end side discussion about it in economics section for example

Please look for the open threads on the same topic before posting: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-discussion-corona-virus-spamming-5235401

Else we will have numeral threads discussing why there are numeral threads on Corona.

Corona is such a big deal that soon there will be multiple threads complaining about multiple threads about Corona.

I tend to agree with you except for the fact that

Corona is the hottest topic now
....and its on everyone's minds and keyboards.  This thread isn't the place to discuss it further, though.

In any case, there's no avoiding topics like COVID-19 when they arise.  There have been other hot topics (but none as hot as this one that I can remember) in the past, and there always end up being multiple threads over multiple sections.  I have mixed feelings about it, as I find some of them interesting and usually different threads have varied focus on whatever the issue is.

I'd leave this one alone for now, however.  This outbreak has affected not only bitcoin but people's lives all over the world.  There's going to be much discussion about it no matter how organized you try to keep it.

Unfortunately bitcointalk is a large and to some extent a free community. You can't completely control what different people post here however much you complain about it. You may try reporting to mods but i doubt anything will be deleted so long as they mention something about bitcoin in the topic.

Just ignore the threads

The most frighful thing for people in the world is death.
If Corona spread all over the world without a single death, then Corona was nothing to disscuss. But a lot of people are dying everyday by this deadly virus. Peoples are lock down in there house. I never saw this in my life. So peoples are frighten and disscuss about this deadly Corona Virus frequently.

Corona is the hottest topic now and that is why we are seeing all these corona related topics. May be someone can search for all these topics and make a long list in one topic. If anyone create anymore new topics then just direct them to that list and suggest to lock the new topic.
