Actually it's not forbes magazine itself and it's just a post from a writer. So,don't mislead the community.Bitcoin has already faced many criticisms earlier and neither bitcoin, nor bitcoin holders would bother such statements against bitcoin. It would make no difference in the bitcoin market.

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
It can’t be a “great scam” because everyone thinks it’s a scam. Bernie Madoff ran a “Great Scam”. It was around almost 30 years and everyone though it was legit. If bitcoin is a scam it’s a shitty scam because too many people recognized it too quick.

From how I read that article, the writer only calls a scam what is known as a pump and dump sceme.
And that is something that happend to the whole field of crypto currencies many times.
To bitcoin itself, he says that it has 'usefulness as a unit of exchange'.

This article is only trying to make BTC look like a scam. I'm not paying any attention to it.

It's NOT BTC that is the scam, its the community of criminals that make BTC the scam that it is, take out the human element and BTC would be ok Smiley

+90% of the people involved in BTC are 100% criminal minded

Ironically forbes also asks to interview CEO's of crypto companies lol. There is always an agenda being run. Don't forget that

this is like a reminder that shows how scared they are of bitcoin!

as Andreas Antonopoulos said, bitcoin is an exit sign for everyone to get out of the corrupted currencies and the corrupted banking system. you can't expect them to remain silent while bitcoin gains more power everyday. even if they can slow it down by FUD, they will consider it a success.

Exactly, there are many people who do not realize that they are actually being tricked with their own money. Very low savings interest, monthly administration fees, network limitations, and interest on loans over single digits. This is what makes banking companies always reap a very high profit every year. Bitcoin offers something better than that, it just takes time for people to realize it.

Because it's something new and exciting that they can't and don't understand.  All they understand is power and greed and blockchain removes that power from those that have it.
You didn't think that it would be that easy to remove something that is the very foundation of society did you?

Bitcoin was pumped, and now being dumped

Bitcoin has been pumped though in an unregulated market, so it isn't exactly a scam, but isn't exactly as legitimate as other currencies and/or commodities.

Forbes Magazine can call bitcoin anything they want. They can call bitcoin a scam, a bubble a fraudulent investment and many more negative accusations. But, we the bitcoin enthusiasts who have been engaging in bitcoin for a long time have known the truth. If bitcoin is a scam we are not enjoying huge profits today. And if bitcoin is a scam then it was already a goner years before.

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
The article is too long and quite boring to read, using many weird metaphores that may not able to be into my head.
But still, i kinda know his point. He doesn't mean that bitcoin is a scam, because of course it's not.
He means that bitcoin is actually doesn't have value at all. Bitcoin is just a number, it has no value at all. Moreover it doesn't have a shape. Unlike the $1 bill that has shape, and surely has its value.
But still, he doesn't know the advantages of bitcoin yet that's why he still say those useless things.

For someone that supposedly doesn’t understand, you came closer than anyone else in this thread. Bravo!

The reason he is is saying those things is to warn people. Think of it this way, Wall Street investing isn’t a scam. The way the Bernie Madoffs of Wall Street sell the investments is a scam. If you look at all of the crooked pitch men of Wall Street it’s enough to make you never want to invest in their schemes. Wall Street investing isn’t really worth all that much to the average investor anyway and the risk is way too high for something with very little value.

Same with all of the scams in bitcoinland. If you look at all of the crooked pitch men in bitcoinland it’s enough to make you never want to invest in their schemes. Bitcoin investing isn’t really worth all that much to the average investor anyway and the risk is way too high for something with very little value.

The last thing he said is, “So, if you find the idea of thinking of Bitcoin as simply a number is too simplistic, then just think of it as a money bag with a lock, the internet version of this. Money goes from transmittor to transmittee, and the transmittee gets a unique code to unlock the bag. What's that really worth?”

Isn't that normal? In the years since I know bitcoin, almost every year there have been media claims that bitcoin is a hoax, and this year is no exception, hh, these fools.

I agree, nothing to see here. Just the usual mainstream media talk down

They are made by mad peoples who are jealous of other peoples who have gain wealth using bitcoin while they don't have any, they want to crash bitcoin price so that they can affort it.

So don't listen to any mad peoples, only sell or buy your bitcoin when you see profit and not what mad peoples say.

Yes. They are just crazy people who make bad news. I think you are right that they are jealous.
Eventhough there are so many bad news about bitcoin, i will always invest on it.

what else is new?

reading the article it is not exactly calling bitcoin scam, it even starts with "bitcoin itself is not scam". but continues to make it look like shit!

the author of the article, Jay Adkisson, is either the least educated person in the world or purposefully tries to undermine the technology.
i can write an article saying Dollar is a scam because it is a piece of paper and compare it with coins made of gold and say because gold has intrinsic value, dollar is a big scam. that is exactly what he did there.
he doesn't understand how the cryptography of bitcoin works and how the amounts in circulation are all accounted for. and compares it with random numbers!

Yeah, I agree with you. In my mind the author of this article do not understand blockchain technology and see price speculations only
