It is based on which kind of wallet you are using.Suppose it is an online wallet like coinbase or blockchain.info you can reset your password by email or through SMS on which way you registered.If it is an wallet like electrum you can insert the private seed and you can transfer your funds into another wallet but once you lost private seeds then it is impossible to recover your funds.

I've lost my wallet due to i forgot my password, i just want to tell you that if you lose your password it means that you have lost your money, simple as that even though you memorize some of them, without the password you can't have access over your asset unless you have private key, the only way is the private key, as long as you keep your private key is safe then you can get access to your money. yes many time i forget my coinbase wallet password.but i rally impresses .i will be change my password and there have a forget password option.so it,s not meter.
It's because you are using centralized wallet which not recommended for storing bitcoin, i believe OP is talking about decentralized wallet where you have ultimate control over your bitcoin that's why the password is very important. In the centralized wallet, the most important is keeping your email safe even when someone got your password as long as your email safe then they can't pass that..
It depends on the wallet you are using.If it is myetherwallet,the only way you can survive without your password is when you have your private key.But if you dont have your private key and you have lost your password as well,then nothing can be done. Just continue trying different passwords,u might get it wright.

which wallet ? if an exhanger wallet you have chance to reset the password by email or contact the admin.

This is one of the downsides nowadays as we all have multiple passwords for multiple sites. My only advice would be to start keeping a book and manage your passwords user names. Even have a copy of a copy. It is more work but you should not in counter the same problem again.
or you could use a software solution: I use KeePass.Also, though I have personally never used this feature, Trezor boasts it can serve as a Password Manager too. So my advise would be buy yourself a Trezor, use it as a hardware wallet (highly recommended) and as a Password Manager.

You shpuld always write it on something so incase you forgot it you can recover it. Its going to be very hard to recover it and you will likely lose what you have in that account.

idk what you want try to talk about. OP talking about forgot wallet password, not bitcointalk account password.

What exactly is the software or online service you use? How long was the password? Do you remember anything? You must provide some more info, mate, if you want the community to help you.

write down your private key on a piece of paper (print it) and store it away in a safe place. if you forgot your password then just go to that piece of paper and use it as a way to fully recovery your funds!
it is the same for any other cryptocurrency wallet. some support HD and Seeds so you can only store the seed.

My brother in law lost his password from his bitcoin wallet. I mean he bought back in 2012 and now he can not find it anywhere. I am not sure you can recover it
