formula 1 too good. But so dangerous for the drivers, its like gambling.

I agree with you. But they changed too many things too fast. Problem is that is not anymore so exciting as before. Maybe they will do some changes again. Manual gearbox can be great thing if you ask me, because last years I think people win on weird way.
And all is in electronics, so can be manipulated. But as I said I do not know. It will be better if they put manual gearbox, spirit of old times will be great refresh for me.
But who knows maybe they do something even better.

They can't make a lot changes due to the rule policy, perhaps in the new season we might see something else.

Something is better than nothing Smiley

Actually Mercedes been testing an exhaust design that will allow a "boost" in terms sound, this is a technique that is used in turbocharged sport cars and supercars such as the Pagani Huyara for example

Meh, if it makes it sound better I dont mind that.

The problem is that it has to be fairly simple as all the teams have to unanimously vote for it and for the rule change.

Good news for the fans, the FIA is currently working with experts to find a solution for the engine sounds, after many fan complaints.
They are probably going to change something in the exhaust, to boost the volume considerably.

Yes and the solution may look like this

Seriously? Formula 1 is one of the most expensive sport in the world and the decided to make something like this?

First FIA wanted a quieter, more efficient engines. On the first tests everyone in pit lane was glad because they didn't need to wear earplugs.
Today many people say must be changed and it must be louder but I think its ok as it is. In the first race in Australia I was able to hear tire squeal, turbos whining, and people cheering in the grandstands. So I say lave it as it is

what? formula 1 is one of safest car racing categories available, it is indeed more demanding on the pilots mentally and physically and it is dangerous but not more dangerous than other car racing disciplines.

And old days the risk was considerable and it was like gambling but it isn't as much the case anymore

I am not expert, but old engine sound was more expressive and a lot lauder. If people really did not complain about that loud engine tone there was no reason to change it, I think. But maybe new cars are faster? Cheesy
engines are still as loud of not louder, since there is no sound restriction in F1 and basically the engine exhausts are deristricted and nothing on their way.

What makes the sound different is the pitch which was much higher in the past, the engine are V6 in stead of V8 and V10 but more importantly, they are restricted in terms of RPM (16K only vs the 20K or even 22K in the V10 Era) and turbos increase pressure in the engine ...ect .

The new cars are slower, since the new regulation reduce aerodynamic capabilities of the cars and rules for fuel consumption /fuel limite, and engine limite has been added, there is one small saving grace that might add a bit of show, is the electric boost from kers system, the electric engine are much more powerfull, and the power system has been upgraded, so the boost might allow pilots to past each other

but that will change soon again, once one team figures a loophole in regulation to have an advantage in their design and wins every race again .... Sad
No worries.  Once someone finds an advantage, the FIA restricts it into oblivion.
They'll restrict the advantage for next season but the damage would be done anyone as proven in recent years

I watched video and it is true. Discrepancy in sound engine tone is really noticeable. But maybe it is good change. People on the stands are able to watch race without covering their ears or earmuffs.

50% of this sport has to do with sound, people love the sound of a "crying" Formula 1 car. I don't think we will see a change for next season as old men in $5000 suits will not change the rule directions that easy.

Im much more into my MotoGP so havent rly followed F1 closely for a few years. Turned the race on a few weekends ago, laughed at the sounds and turned it off again.

Most boring motorsport now with no noise!

I must admit that I do not watch Formula 1 as I did before.
It is not so interesting as before.
I hope better times will come again.
