If anyone actually picked Solly March against Liverpool in this week's MajSev, kindly screenshot here and I'll tip you some BTC to your FJ account. First response only, Full Member pls.

I'm that upset about it I feel like I need to pay up some kind of football indulgence to wipe the Reds' slate clean. It needs to be exorcised, worst performance in a long time.

Grin Grin I believe no one from this forum picked Solly March, most people should have picked Salah or other Liverpool's strikers. Even if some people predicted that Brighton will win, I believe these people would not pick Solly March. I did not participate in this week Majsev because I forgot about it and I feel lucky not to participate as I might be as upset as you to know the result of Brighton vs Liverpool. I do believe that I would have picked Salah or Gakpo.

^  I wonder why Rodgers hasn't been given the sack yet...  Very unusual in these times.  Grin  I think Leicester could use some new blood and hire Vincent Kompany to manage the club.  I was checking the Championship League and was surprised he's on the helm at Burnley and they're at the top of the league.  Nice to see.  Smiley

Here are my picks for this weekend's Majestic 7.  Get that 10k ready and send it to my right pocket.  Lezzz gooo!

Calvert Lewin
Salah
Tielemans
Hwang
Mbeumo
Joelinton
Havertz

I don't really feel extra good with these picks so maybe it's the one that hits.

@tokeweed Rodgers, Lampard both deserve the sack but they have yet surprisingly survived, and then there’s call for Potter to be sacked but I feel that it’s harsh given the injury crisis he’s having and then the fact that he didn’t even have a full preseason to prepare is why I yet feel that he should be given some more time. Also I like 3 of your picks but I won’t jinx it this time by revealing it  Cheesy, and what about other’s no one else is participating if yes what are your picks for this round?.

Haha, yeah, that's the voice of reason. 8 major guys on your treatment bed is normally not such a terrible thing for a Prem League team but it's always going to bite deep into a team reliant on its best players and the Foxes happen to be one of them.

I've now since switched my pick to Iheanacho, as it really doesn't look like we get a surprise. What? Not Vardy? Yeah, because I see now the main man is also not fully sharp but has made great supplies for others to finish.

2nd half of the season, people. And I've entered a few names I've really missed from the squads (St Maximin, Antonio... I almost put even Maddison). They were "injury doubts" during EFL games, so I'm expecting they might at least play some role if the return from injury and I probably shouldn't risk all 3 so left out Maddisson but let's see what happens with news before the first game on Thursday.

@buwaytress as we head deeper into this season it’s starting to look that certain player’s will score more goals than other’s hence our chances of winning will probably increase now. Also I feel that one should look at the top premier league goal scorer’s for inspiration whenever they’re selecting their majestic 7, because it can help a lot especially for people who don’t like to do too much research.

You've just described one aspect of every season in football, heh but I don't agree. All players except outliers score in streaks. You can't predict when it ends or restarts. Just thinking of early season runners (Haaland is an anomaly so let's forget about him) where streaks start, remember Jesus firing Arsenal early and then losing his touch? Take EPL's past 4/5 seasons where we've had MajSev. It's good enough to put Salah in and he gets streaks but can suddenly dry up (like he seems to be now), Mane was the same at some points.

I can almost guarantee now Saka and Mitrovic, who seem to be in their streaks, will get stuck in a patch over next 5 or so games.

And last season (or was it the one before?), we had the $10,000 winner in the very first game week, then we all did badly thereafter.

It's luck, and a bit of knowledge (injuries, suspensions, predicted lineups).

You know it's bad when you get the usual picks right (Mitrovic, Rashford) and still can't even get consolations on MajSev. Going to put me head back on this weekend and get done a heck load of things including next MS.

You wish, those 2 own goals were all Faes. First one was quite impossible with the arc the ball has gotten after he tried to clear it. For second one, Nunez hit the post and Faes made sure it finishes in the goal. Both were really bad reactions and easy to clear. Look them up on YouTube, will be worth your time. Promise  Smiley

Ah, what a memory, seems so long ago. Yeah, there are own goals, and these are Faes specials in a class of their own. They were singing about Carragher but Carra's own goals were usually unavoidable, just unlucky. Faes might have been slightly unlucky with one but in both situations, very clearable, he just got his techniques absolutely wrong.

Yeah dunno..  But after having a good game vs Aston Villa away, I was thinking that 'Salah is back".  Lol.  I didn't think that they would be needing to win a match with a couple of own goals by Leicester.  Grin   How did that happen anyway?  A good strong shot that ricocheted against a defender I hope.  Cheesy  That at least could be still seen as a Liverpool goal even if it's counted as an own goal.

Not bad. Spurs didn't win, but Kane did get on the scoresheet, so I got that one easy. Then Newcastle stepped up and Almiron got his goal (so glad that he's not yet found a way to stop scoring after the break!), and that was probably my quickest 2/7 this entire season.

Then everything went to nothing after that. I stuck with JWP for so long, changed to Che Adams and he scores tonight -- after missing a penalty.

Of course, we all missed Mitrovic "easy pick" -- honestly thought he wasn't even playing but pops up with assist + goal. Figures!
Yeah, last one ended better than expected with 3/7 for me. This week's Majestic 7 looks much easier for me and we have all the usual players to pick in most games like Salah, Mitrović, Toney, Almiron and then 3 much tougher games. I went with Moore for Bournemouth but Solanke is maybe even better option, you can pick anybody from front 4 for Arsenal, don't even remember who was my pick, maybe Saka and then Chelsea where you really can't pick a goal scorer.

I also got Salah, Toney and Saka but looks like Liverpool spoiled the weekend.  I didn't watch the match but I feel like those two own goals by Leicester were what gave Liverpool some rope to win the match?  Lol.

Anyway, my complete picks for the weekend's fixtures.

Toney
Salah
Wood
Mitrovic
Zaha
Saka
Havertz

Got Toney down while Salah is out.  :/

@tokeweed I would suggest you to avoid selecting Salah, because he’s been really poor this season and I doubt that he’ll improve in the remaining game’s. Also I thought that Havertz was done at Chelsea and he would be sold in the January transfer window, but it seems like he has regained his form and he’s definitely a player that we all should monitor and continue to select him for our predictions.

To be fair the whole team of Liverpool has been not so great recently and I am guessing that it's not going to be easy for them to make an exception on this case neither. Salah is bad but if you are going to wager on Liverpool to win lets assume when they are playing someone else, then who are you going to wager that will score? VVD? Trent?

I mean Nunez is out there missing wide open shots, so it's more possible for Salah to score in any game then anyone else in that team. I am not saying Salah will score for sure, all I am saying is that if you take the 11 players on Liverpool and check who would be more likely to score? Then Salah comes to mind without hesitation, but they can of course lose the game, and not score at all.

Yeah, actually kind of not happy to get 4/7, feels like using up all the luck for nothing, much prefer getting 0/7 and then getting it all right.

Salah was actually pretty good, agree w Trofo. Just that Haaland is making us skew our observations. His strike such a shame Nunez still not that good at offside sniffing. And he got some sharp shots in (on target, which you need to be to put ball in net!). Nunez is coming close often but needs to be more precise.

Also got Toney in, and Almiron again, Saka's definitely back in my list for scorers, even though he doesn't look like he's getting himself in much for striking but Arteta seems to have given him license to roam and attempt. Chelsea again went for Havertz, so let's see.

I think Salah is performing just fine, who else would you select at that game? Nunez that can't hit a goal and nobody else even has xG to score a goal. Leicester is even worse with Vardy out of form and Maddison injured. By the way Salah scored 4 goals in last 5 games, that is ok even by his high standards and more than good for vast majority of players in Premier League. This season everything looks bad since Haaland is breaking all the records, if he wasn't here we would all be happy with players like Kane and Salah Smiley

^  Same thoughts here about Mitrovic or at least that's what some football journos were saying and I believed it.  I had Crystal Palace to win 1 - 0 in our pool and thinking Zaha is gonna score the goal of the match.  :/  These couple of weeks after the World Cup are gonna be slightly unpredictable for club football.  Maybe not with the big clubs but more with the mid tier clubs...

I'd say the results of Everton vs the Wolves and Crystal Palace vs Fullham were slightly unexpected.  And that 2 - 2 draw with Brentford vs Tottenham.  Lol.  A lot of guys were going for an away win in that match.  I'd say Chelsea vs Bournemouth too could end up with a 2 - 2.
I like your predictions, one thing to notice is, football is a coin with two flat sides, it never stand still, in most times the opposite showcase. In interface appears, you accept it. Chelsea vs Bournemouth match will be a great game, so f Chelsea is still like before, like the first time when the team was reigning. Bournemouth can't play with Chelsea but the team is weak now so let watch out the outcome. Everton vs Wolves:  Crystal Palace vs Fullham and
Brentford vs Tottenham we're games of the week. People won and loss their bets.
I think that is the reason why we have rarely seen any winners on this majestic 7 as well. It is possible to figure out 1 or 2, but there is a reason why they did it 7. I have seen so many people do even 5 or 6, but only 2 that got 7/7 if I am not wrong, but even if it is higher, we are talking about hundreds at least week in and week out yet only 2-3 winners at most.

We had 100+ people with 6/7 as well, so that tells you that 7 is a great number and not just picked because of the whole "777 gambling number" type of thing, it is done because we are talking about something that puts it to hardest place that could be. If you did 8/8 that would be quite impossible to hit, 6 would be hard but more common, 7 is the perfect place.
