What do you mean by 'methods'
There are no ways of obtaining BTC without doing any work. Using faucets doesn't make any sense and is much more work than needed to make a quick buck. 
the only way i know to earn free bitcoins is from signature/giveaways. other thing you can try is offering services like designing signatures, creating logos etc..

Faucets, for the ethical person... for the non ethical person.. scams (i would not advise this though)
From my personal experience, the best way to earn some bitcoin is through signature campaigns on this forum.
Please be aware that amount you can earn depends on your forum rank, number of posts per month and other criteria...

then I invested with some friends into trusted projects and turned 2$ to 52$ in a month.
then I worked my ass real hard to turn that 52$ to 200$ with investing in some projects.
finally, turned 150$ to paypal and kept 50$ to use later in investments again.

i cant believe that people would waste 3 MONTHS just to get $150, rather than just working 3 DAYS in a crappy job to get $150 and then spend $100 on real life stuff and $50 to by bitcoin.
its probably because not in all countries you can earn 150$ just by working 3 days.

the ONLY free method is giveaways, other methods although called free but in fact you are doing a job and getting paid for it. like faucets, signature campaigns, ... Feel free to share below!

Try some faucets, giveaways that normally recently opened services do, and when you get a decent forum rank you can try a signature campaign.
After that invest in something a least decent like trusted users in BTCJam.

For free BTC i think you should regularly checking games & rounds section. There are so many promotion & giveaways there, especially from casino owner. I remember last giveaway from primedice was 0.03 BTC. Too bad i miss that opportunity
