I started to bet in Multiply BTC and set up the Auto-bet settings, does ON LOSE INCREASE BET BY 12% really working? I don't see it reflects on the screen while it keeps on rolling...

Anyway, I also tried making the bet odds to 4,750 with bet 2 satoshis and hit it unexpectedly. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a screenshot of it just to show proof here and tried to find the bet history now, can't see it anymore. I think because the showing results is only limited.

If your base bet is 2 satoshis, 12% of that is less than a satoshi so that's why you don't see your bet increasing.
I don't understand. I'm also doing this auto bet setting on other dice games and seeing the bet is increasing when it's in losing side and before it rolls another dice, returns to base bet when hitting a winning bet.

Here's a cool little strategy I'm thinking of using: I currently have upwards of 3500 reward points.

On the rewards page, I'll redeem 600 RP for the 50 lottery tickets/roll bonus. I'll free roll every hour at least 12 times in the next 24 hours, giving me 600 lottery tickets in addition to the 300 lottery tickets I already have. Plus, that also adds 120 RP to my 2900 remaining RP, which adds up to 3020.

Using this strategy, it would be a significant boost to my lottery ticket count, and I could repeat the same strategy for the next 5 weeks to get 600 additional lottery tickets every week, boosting my chances of winning the lottery for 6 weeks running. At least one of them has to be the lucky one, right? Let's find out!

From my experience, no. Since the price for 1 ticket is just 1 satoshi, sometimes I succumb to the temptation of buying a thousand or two of them, but I've never won in the lottery, never took the 10th place even. And this is not surprising, because even with 20,000 tickets your win chance is still smaller than 0.01%.
I have done something similar back in the day and that was definitely worth it. I however did 2 reward + 1 free btc thing back to back for 3 days instead of doing 1 reward and 1 free. That way I built my reward points higher and spend the extra on the free btc, I both increased my reward point numbers that way AND also had the free btc thing as well increased so I was capable of profiting while still getting more rewards.

It required a lot of on screen time though so I stopped, I was doing 13-15 times a day which required me to be in front of my computer every day all day and that is not something so easy, I am a freelancer so I had a chance to stay at home and do this but even with that it got so boring that I felt in the end it didn't really worth the work I was putting in.

Ok, but the first prize winners entry tickets are still part of the math, because you did not say that the amount of tickets bought by the winner are subtracted from the total amount of tickets.. right? I do not know if it stays the same, even if his or her tickets are drawn again, but they are still part of the math calculation.

You should actually subtract the winners tickets from the total pool to make it easier for the rest of the people to win something. (Just imagine if 1 person bought 50% of the total tickets and it stays in the total pool.)   Roll Eyes

No one can win more than one prize. A user who wins the first prize, has no chance to win 2-10th prizes.
Below is what is said in the website.

Quote
If a user wins more than 1 prize, the number is discarded and [WINNING POSITION] is increased by 1 and the calculations are run again to pick a new user. This is to ensure that a user cannot win more than 1 prize in a round.

So, a user who owns half of tickets, cannot win more than one prize.

By the way, if you spend money to have half of tickets, you have no chance to make profit. Because even if you win the first prize, the value of your prize will be equal to value of the money you spent.
Not only a user who has half of tickets doesn't make profit, but also benefit other users. Because he causes prizes to be bigger, but can only win one of prizes.

Starting from 2nd round, you should remove the winners from the participants list etc etc, its just a rounding error at this point nobody will notice 9 people out of 235 million. :p

Number of tickets that are removed is much more.
Assume that the first winner have 20 million tickets. Then your chance to win 2-10th places will be much higher.

A good example is lottery round 245.
Total number of tickets was 248 million.
Winners of 1-9th places had 52 million tickets in total.

If you had 260 tickets your chance to win the first prize was 0.000106 %. But your chance to win 10th place was 0.000135%

Originally I thought 9 people wouldn't make a difference that's why I said it like that but now you mentioned it, at least 5-6 out of 9 of them will have thousands (sometimes millions) of tickets each. (Lots of tickets, lots of chance to win) That means removing them will affect the chance to win the last slot, a lot. A LOT. (Can't stress it enough)

The actual win chance varies because you can't know how many tickets are going to be taken out in advance so the win chance stated on the site is the minimum chance of winning a prize because the actual chances will increase for each round.

What about winning the top prize? Is it guaranteed to win the highest prize if you get enrolled in the first round or is it possible to get the lower prizes? Is there an order or is this random too? Damn math is hard.

The first prize is always drawn first so every ticket is included. Then 2nd place is drawn but if it is the same winner it is then redrawn until we have a new winner. The order is always sequential 1 to 10.

My thinking might be flawed, but still having the tickets as part of the draw, makes things more difficult for the draw results to come out quicker?

I think you meant to say, "for each roll"(or draw) during the same round. I just want to clarify it because some people might think that their win chance increases with every new lottery round, as long as they are losing, while this, in fact, is never the case. People who won in the previous rounds are not excluded from the upcoming ones, right?

There is also smth I don't understand with freebitco.in's calculation of lottery win chance.

It says there is a 0.0011065% chance to win with my 260 tickets but when I do 260/235.000.000 I get 0.000001106, x100 and it is 0.0001106%.

As, there are 10 winners in the lottery, 0.00011% is multiplied by 10.

The formula which is used to calculate the chance of winning in the lottery is:

Chance of winning the lottery = ( ( your tickets / total tickets ) * 10 ) * 100%

That's how freebitco calculates chance of winning. But that's not accurate. Because no one can win more than one prize.

So what happens here is,

I have 0.0001106% chance to win the 1st slot but since there are 10 slots, I get 10 tries. I participate again and again till I win a slot or all 10 slots are gone.

Random roll #1 > 260 tickets, chance to win a slot is ~0.0001106%
Random roll #2 > 260 tickets, chance to win a slot is ~0.0001106%
Random roll #3 > 260 tickets, chance to win a slot is ~0.0001106%
...
Random roll #8 > 260 tickets, chance to win a slot is ~0.0001106%
Random roll #9 > 260 tickets, chance to win a slot is ~0.0001106%
Random roll #10 > 260 tickets, chance to win a slot is ~0.0001106%

That's why it is ~0.001106%...

Starting from 2nd round, you should remove the winners from the participants list etc etc, its just a rounding error at this point nobody will notice 9 people out of 235 million. :p

All the odds on the February Bitcoin Price bet seem balanced. Every highly logical outcome seems to have odds above 3 at least. I believe any one or two of $10,501 - $11,000, $10,001 - $10,500, $9,501 - $10,000, $9,001 - $9,500 would be ideal bets that would guarantee at least thrice the return on investment.

I think I'll go with $9,001 - $9,500 and $9,501 - $10,000 considering how BTC has been trading in the last week. Get in your bets too guys; the bet ends tomorrow, but remember, the bet is for bitcoin price prediction when February ends.
I still can't see bitcoin doing anything aside from $9.5 to $10.5k inside this week, the 1st of march is Sunday so we have like one week or so left, sure there could be some bitcoin movements that could change a lot of price points and so forth but I do not see them happening at all.

So, let's look at the odds and what we could do about this, as you can see, the odds are over 3 for the both of them, which means you will get x3 at the very least if you get the game. So, if you actually put in 100 dollars for both $9.5k and also $10k levels (the top two right now) you could actually spend 200 dollars but end up with either 309 or 378 dollars. The only possible downfall of this is the slight chance that bitcoin may end up under $9.5k and I do not see that happening honestly.

Ah I get it.

What they do is 260/235k instead of 260/235m which is not exactly the right way to calculate this, is it?

Most likely, since that's the only way we got those numbers. But our best bet is to let Quin clarify this.

Am I having a Brain fart again or what?

Good question. I calculated, and if you discount the last 3 digits, that's the percentage you get (i.e. the current value you're seeing).

Maybe they don't count, since the numbers are increasing at a constant pace.

1000 tickets per week guarantees nothing. You can get nothing even with 10k tickets in the next 10-20 rounds if you are unlucky. How many people do you think there are joining the lottery with 1k tickets every week? Lots of.

Right now in the current round, The number of total lottery tickets is coming close to 235 million. Your chance of winning  with 1k tickets is 1 in 235k.
