I don't think it's forbidden to have more than 1 account. You're just not allowed to abuse their faucet by claiming from multiple accounts. It's not possible to claim from 1 IP more than once per hour, but abusers using proxies, VPN and other things to bypass restrictions.
BTW, if you're afraid to lose your account I suggest you to secure it with 2FA.

LTU_btc is correct, having more than one account isn't a problem it is what you do with them. If it is to claim more than one free-roll per hour or generate referral income for yourself then you risk getting banned.

There are no steps. Captcha is automatically removed on all accounts with a balance over $100 value in Bitcoin.

I don’t really understand why people make multiple accounts on this site, and when they get banned they come here to complain. I agree with TheQuin all his alt accounts on the site should be banned, and let this be a lesson for all not to make alt accounts and try to cheat the site.

Well if you check out that scam accusations thread, one of the possibilities was that freebitco may attempt to forgo the rebrand in an attempt to make it seem like they are not rebranding due to the cheating that has been uncovered. It's a good idea. Stick with the original name and simply add the "new site" as an addon instead. That is less, how should I put it.... fishy. Becoming an exchange is also just begging to be the target for the REAL hackers. If you think you have problems now, you havent seen anything yet. Becoming an exchange and then claiming you lost a ton due to a hack seems to be all the rage these days. Of the exchanges that get hacked, I'd wager that maybe less than 10% of them are from actual real 3rd party hacks. The rest are imo just inside jobs and planned from the beginning. Even mt gox imo was a planned hack by the exchange itself to cover up it's insolvency beginning in Aug 2011 due to systematic siphoning of it's BTC hotwallet that "went un-noticed" for 2 years. Ya right. Unnoticed my ass.

The prizes were always pegged at fiat for centuries. I mean look at the freeroll faucet part, its always been 200 dollars at max reward, even tough bitcoin changed the prize for maximum was always the same in fiat. 200 dollars flat, that meant changing the bitcoin reward to go along with the fiat counterpart of 200 dollars (whatever bitcoin worth of it was).

It probably means the same for threshold as well, if they say 50 dollars then that means it has been pegged to whatever bitcoin is at that moment on 50 dollars. They probably use something like preev or whatever to calculate what the 50 dollar worth of bitcoin is and take that into consideration. Not a difficult software development process I am sure (even tough I can't imagine to do something like that myself since I am not a developer) but idea stays the same.

I think it will take Bitcoin price going to something like $100k to be the catalyst for wider LN adoption. At the moment we're working on plans to integrate an exchange function to allow depositing and withdrawing in altcoins. That's more of a priority to us than LN at the moment.

Would FreeDogecoin be consolidated into FBC?

That was the original plan but we were discussing other options last week. One idea is that rather than rebranding freebitco.in as crypteer.com and adding altcoins and an exchange we would launch crypteer.com as a separate exchange site. The accounts would be linked to your freebitco.in account allowing you allowing you to move your balance from one to the other. What do you all think about that?

So you are going to run an exchange, right?

I guess then you should start a new topic on the exchanges board of the forum. Actually, it is surprising that you didn't come up with that initiative earlier. Gambling attracts a lot of money, but not as much as a decent and feature-rich exchange would. So it is kinda a natural development (especially if the user balances will be shared in some way). I can tell you what types of API functions you could implement to avoid making stupid mistakes that you wouldn't be able to correct later (due to compatibility issues). I've been using plenty of exchanges and know what's what in this area (and how things should be done)

I must say that this idea is way, way better than swapping the entire service.
Longevity of freebitco is in my opinion very important aspect of its success. People like things that are stable, everlasting and unchangeable. It adds to credibility also nostalgia factor plays a role as well. Definitely better to leave freebitco alive and cross reference to it from the new crypteer. Although that name... :-p its creepy but maybe that's just me?

Yeah exchanging btc for altcoins is another valid option to make (cheap) withdrawals from the faucet. That's a great idea too.

I was aking about LN because it is already here and works great for non-tech people already. A couple posts above I shared a link to the LN thread where I used a LN faucet and withdrew coins to my iphone. I mean, the tech, It is already here and The adoption will be so fast after a certain point, you wouldn't wanna left behind. Wink

If there is a top 10 winners there changing about the amouny of their wager then it should 1st and 2nd place that will compete around because mostly the gap between other contestants is not that big so it is still possible to compete with them. But to think that you are going to be in top 10 with min 60btc wagered, I do not think that I am able to do that, even it is some depends on your luck as well but at least you might need more than 10 btc at least to make sure you will be on their position
