I have not heard about this service or used it before, from what i read in the website, they offer different services to crypto projects, you have to be certain that they are legitimate and not a scam before you pay them for anything. I just did a quick research and what i found is coinlancer.com, it looks like it is a service built on the Ethereum platform that connects freelancers to job clients in a decentralized way, take note that i have used neither of these services and this is not an endorsement for you to use it.
Knowing the crypto industry, I'm sure that this is a really difficult thing to get on board to because I'm sure that there's going to be people out there that would scam freelancers of their work so I'm not entirely sure about this one, maybe sticking to the legitimate freelancer websites would be the best course of action, just request to your employer that you're open to the option of getting paid in crypto. It's also difficult to hire here since this is a crypto freelancer website, it's most likely that there's going to be scammers on the employee side that would ask for a payment first and then not show up for work so the risk involved is just too much.

henrys, not sure why you started a project with these guys when hugeblack pointed out the most obvious red flag (template sites pics for their team page or AI generated even). That's at best, as hugeblack says, which means they're amateur and don't have the right principles a creative should have. At worst, these are fake profiles created to scam people.

My suspicion is they'll deliver templates, stolen or tweaked, and you'll pay something. Seen several "Teams" do this now in crypto. They claim social media management, especially, but it's all bots and AI doing the work and since most people can't tell chatgpt content, they get by very well.

You're better off getting freelancers on this forum (or actually on Upwork, many in tech will take crypto).

I'd rather we don't give these guys more exposure than necessary.

I started project with them because:
- They accept few cryptocurrencies, not only BTC.
- Prices seem competitive, like e.g. $450 for website. But I will see it when the project is delivered and I can check its quality.
- I'm gonna pay after delivered milestones, when I see effect of their work. So there is no prepayment. It's a big advantage for me.
- They claim they are a freelancers team. The project manager contacted me and i give him all info. So I don't have to coordinate the work between few freelancers myself. Good for me.

I was thinking about Fiverr or Upwork, but they don't accept cryptos. And again I have to cooperate there with few freelancers like designer, developers etc. After the weekend, they should provide me with some work - logo concepts and a preliminary website design, then I will be able to tell what it looks like.

About AI - you are right. AI is now everywhere... Even on this forum some of the posts look like AI generated or AI translated  Grin

Actually in special offer website will be for $450 + $50 for logo. I can pay that if the results will be satisfying. You can say both sides are risking time and money  Smiley I will wait for the outcome and then make a decision.
Goodluck, i can see you are really interested in using this service, so i hope everything goes well for your sake. If i understood you correctly they are going to present you with the logo concept for $50 and they will design the website for you for $450, at which point are you going to pay them something? I don't mean all of the money, but whatever percent of it.

Their project manager Luke contacted me - after completing the brief - to ask about the details of the project. Additionally, he offered me a logo for $50, so I decided to go for it. After discussions, we agreed that they would present the logo concept and the first website design within 7 days. At this stage I have not paid anything. So far so good.

In this website special offer i see that i will pay only after milestones are delivered. I will check is it true or false.
You are not going to pay 100% of the money after the work is done, you are going to pay 30% of whatever they charge you after they create an initial graphic design for your project. Take note that since you said you want to start a new project, and from the prices i can see on their website for this, it is ~ $690 for Branding pack and ~ $850 for a modern website design.

I filled out the form and waiting for contact from them. If there will be anything suspicious i will demand escrow.
With the prices above, you can get a design from professionals, for cheaper amounts, and with an escrow. You can pay with PayPal or debit cards, where you know more information about the designer, and you can close his account if the designer tries to scam you.
Can you give me examples? In my opinion $450 it's quite good price if the website will be professional. I see they have positive review on Clutch. But it looks that they are fresh team, so can't be so sure what they will deliver.

Hey there,

has anyone from bitcointalk use this "crypto" freelance team - Coinlancer.net - and can share opinion?

It's true that freelancing services exist but am not sure about these specific team i they are reliable or not, you can as well check on their profile and make the confirmations by yourself, the date of their registration, their past projects handled and lots more that you will need to leverage on before handling your work or project to them, if not, i will prefer you get some reputable members on the service board to handle your work for you in a proper and more professional way that can be trusted.

If we were to assume that it is not a scam and for example, use escrow or other security measures to collaborate with them, do you think - as you know similar services - that the prices are acceptable? I noticed they have a case study, so they have probably completed some work: https://coinlancer.net/articles/case-study-franzi-gewuerzekammer
As far as I understand, you want to create a website. Alternatively, you can open a thread in Service section and write your requirements, what you want, who are you looking for and etc. I believe you'll get contacted by many talented developers and since they are on this forum, they'll accept Bitcoin or altcoin transactions and they'll be more privacy-oriented if that's the reason why you are looking for freelancers in crypto space.
You can use this thread to choose escrow for your deal - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/few-trusted-escrow-providers-5047302

My point is this, if you pay 30% of these amounts i just typed above, and this website turns out to be scam, you would have lost some good money. So i think you should request for escrow from the beginning or look for other sites that have gained more 'trust' than this one.

Their brand is actually familiar to me because I can still remember there was also Coinlancer project that was promoted here years ago during the time when ICO was very popular. And it was also a freelancing site. If I'm not mistaken, their ICO was even pretty much successful. I remember trying to look for a freelance job there. There was a decent amount of available tasks to do, although I ended up not applying at all.
That was the .com and .io domain here's their coin details[1]. The .net is just a team of freelancers who offer their service.

Yeah, I can see the difference. Coinlancer.net is more focused. It's basically for those who have projects in mind. It's for those who need workers who can turn their plans into reality. Coinlancer.com is actually for everybody, whether one is looking for a freelancer or a job.

I'm currently planning a new project so I will give it a try and share my opinion  Smiley
Try to offer them to escrow your fund for security, if they will do, you can choose any on this list[2]

This is probably a must considering how the platform is new and hasn't established reputation yet. You can't even search for reliable reviews of their services. Moreover, their "How it works" doesn't include how the payment works, whether there's a partial advance payment needed or the payment could be sent upon completion of the project, and to the client's satisfaction. And how about cases in which the output isn't what the client had in mind? Would edits and back-jobs be done for free?

If I may ask, is there any particular reason why you're leaning towards a relatively new platform? perhaps some may be able to suggest an alternative

I found their website by accident on Cryptwerk and their website and offer seemed quite attractive.
Now I see that they have special offer for website https://coinlancer.net/landing-website

What I can see is that they are service providers. It's not like a freelancing service where you can get any service from a lot of individuals. Freelancing sites mean they will be a marketplace, not a service provider. However, I haven't heard about them and haven't used them yet. So if you need anything from them, just do your own research. I think you can get maximum crypto service from this forum. Just go to the Seevice section and post there what you need. Just make sure you are going to use a trusted person; otherwise, you can use escrow services.

Yes, it looks like it's not freelancing platform. I like that they have whole team with project manager who "runs" the project so i don't have to waste time to be in the middle and coordinate few freelancers.

Their website name is a bit familiar as there is an existing project to it (.com), and its looks not a good choice using that the same name, only with different domain extension (.net)

But the site that I knew was Coinlancer.io. As to whether Coinlancer.io, Coinlancer.net, and Coinlancer.com are all the same, I'm not sure. But they probably are.

Never heard of that platform but if you're looking for someone that will work for you with some projects that you're working with, this forum is better than the unknown ones because you can have that guarantee with the help of the escrow or if you want to, you can hire those reputable ones that has history of working with specific projects without having the need of it. If you're still not convince then just go with the typical freelancing marketplaces like fiverr, upwork and the others but you'll have to pay them in fiat and not with crypto. I've seen platforms like laborx but I haven't signed up there and I just casually browse there if there are interesting job offers that pays good. So, as for the rate, check out the freelancing websites on how much typical is charged for that specific task that you'll ask to be done.

I'm not familiar with the average prices TBH, but I suggest going to a popular freelancing platform and compare the prices.

Maybe, or maybe not lol. It's hard to tell if it's an actual client or not just from the pictures.

Do you want to use this service for your project, or you are just asking these questions. To know if the price is accepatable will depend on your project and the specific service you want them to offer you, and i also don't think they would accept to use any escrow to accept payments. I think you should provide more details on what you want to do, maybe you can get good recommendations for it, so you stop looking into this service that is suspicious.

Only accepting cryptocurrency payments is not a good sign. Freelancers accept payments via PayPal or debit cards to reduce the possibility of scam and they may not accept using escrow to make payments.
Prices depend on the designer's experience and budget, but for a simple site without a back-end and API, their prices are a little high.

Their payment rate is between $22 and $30, but I do not see a list of developers. Are they trustworthy people and have Github, or are they just amateurs who use ready-made templates?
The pictures published by the development team look like a scam -----> https://coinlancer.net/team (NO Github or social media)
There are also no links for them other than contacting the support team.
So, at best, this platform has an inexperienced team and is not worth these amounts, and at worst (which is most likely), it is a scam.
