It is really a good news but, the problem is the vendor who is offering Bitcoin purchase at Tobacco store. For some people this will be the negative part as I hate smoking and smokers. For others who are smokers great idea to buy Bitcoin while you smoke 😃😃😃
Just don't talk about in general because there are some people who like to smoke even if you like it or not. Tobacco seller may decrease in the future due to the new alternative ways of smoking like the e-cigarette or vape. Although the effect on health of real cigarette and vape are almost the same.

Maybe the merchant is trying to sell some e-cigarette with Bitcoin although I've read some thread here before when someone wants to buy a certain cigarette from a certain country while offering to pay it on Bitcoin. I don't know the next part of that if he did find a seller or not but buying any products is possible, thanks to Bitcoin.

It is always great to see some level of promotion to increase the awareness of the existence of Bitcoin but my major worry is that this kinda promotions do not really educate people on what bitcoin is and how different it is from existing traditional payment system. People will not accept to use something which they do not really understand what it is. In as much that there are other advert of Bitcoin, the adoption of it is very slow. Once people get to understand the nature of Bitcoin, adoption will be fast and easier.

You are right but not majority will see it as negative to advertise it in relation to tobacco.
I see it as a positive news for crypto enthusiast. Bitcoin is gaining wide grounds in europe as I also read that banks are going to accept it .
LOL! Not just you only hate tobacco then you do generalize that it would be already a negative advertisement? How you do talk about that typical stuff thing in regards with fiat with tobacco advertisment, does it really give out such impact? Not all people do hate up things but rather they would have that curiosity in mind once they do able to encounter new things.

This is actually a good news yet advertising from a national TV isnt really a basic way of adoption but rather a good accomplishment.

TF1, the first national channel in France, has begun broadcasting Bitcoin-related ads multiple times a day. The services being advertised are by Keplerk, which allows people to buy BTC in over 6,500 tobacco shops.

Bitcoin ads are airing in France on the leading national channels. Watchers of TF1 unexpectedly found themselves viewing Bitcoin ads promoting Keplerk’s Bitcoin services in between their programming. Keplerk is a company that recently announced BTC purchases in many of France’s tobacco shops.

For me, I think this is a great move by TF1. Now that they’re increasing Bitcoin’s exposure in France, I would expect that other countries who are pro-Bitcoin or crypto will follow suit in the future.
I am not watching TV at all, and it's been like that for years, so I don't know who and why even watches that (TV series excluded). My point is that TV is probably for people who are not interested in Bitcoin anyway. And obviously the service is promoting itself rather than Bitcoin. Moreover, I don't like the tobacco shop part. It's a personal choice to smoke or not, but promoting it is not a good thing. Moreover, it's not a good association with Bitcoin is creates. I mean, it's not as bad as it could be, I guess, but a chain of cinemas/cafes/shopping malls would be better. Still, though, it seems that this is better than nothing, it's still publicity and not necessarily a bad one.
Your logic is correct. But I think the situation will correct itself. After a while, bitcoin can be bought in other places. To be honest, I keep a close eye on French startups.I am sure that investments in them should be justified.

Like Malta, for example, they’re calling themselves as the “Blockchain Island” as the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry are booming there. In Southeast Asia, Philippines, Japan, Singapore and others might wanna do this in their respective local TV networks.
In Southeast Asia, advertisements like this still look taboo, moreover it leads to commercial related purchasing info. What I have seen so far is only educational services about blockchain and national events.

I appreciate what Keplerk and TF1 do despite feeling that the effectiveness for the audience's catch will still be very low when they see it.

while its true that people who are watching tv doesn't have interest in BTC, its still a good promotion to make it look less evil to the people who only heard bad things about BTC.

but it must be pricey for the company to advertise BTC when there will be no money coming in from the tv watchers. too hard to make regular people to understand how btc works and if they don't get it, they won't use it the fact that its new to them.

It's not advertising Bitcoin.
It's advertising a service through which you can buy bitcoin, with quite some fees
https://keplerk.com/fr/frais-et-limites

In Southeast Asia, Philippines, Japan, Singapore and others might wanna do this in their respective local TV networks.

You do understand it's not France or Macron the French government who is doing this but a bitcoin business advertising its services?
For the same ads to run in those countries you first need a company that does this and has the funds to buy the ads.

Wonder how much Keplerk has spent on this, spots on TF1...must be pricey

Also, this is weird, doesn't look how this was launched a few months ago, you buy tickets worth x bitcoin but you can only activate them in your app?
And you must pass KYC to use it?

Europe is again going to shine in the globe with their acceptance of modern technology and freedom for humans. Europe is the most advanced and most crypto accepted region with many of the new legit projects being involved in Europe. Their relative success would spread the adoption of crypto within Europe and beyond.

It was already announced in the begging of 2019 about an option to buy BTC in tobacco shop, but soon it was put on pause due to long transactions.

In October the campaign continued and now it is being advertised on TV. Well done France.

This would really help people finally understand what Bitcoin is all about, not listening to others who are thinking that Bitcoin is a ponzi scam (which was mostly used by network marketing companies and HYIPs who are using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as front).

It would really help them to explore more on Bitcoin aside from just traditional stocks.
